Does anyone know of a place besides Garden grocer you can have items sent from?

And I remember someone mentioning getting beer? Where was that from?

GG will get you beer !!It is not on the list but if you call and ask they will as a courtesy pick up beer and deliver with your order ! They don't give you a price as they get it that day!! Call and ask :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions!!

Is the 70's close to the bus stop?

I just read the 50's was a good place to request too...???

Thank you :goodvibes

I like the 50's...

I've stayed at Pop three times. First visit I did no room requests and they put us on 3rd floor 90s. That building was pretty good for buses because you could cut across the parking lot...but the walk to and from the room to Classic Hall seemed, really, really long.

Second visit I put in a request for the 50's section plus ground floor. I got building 1 ground floor room 1148 and loved it. Super convenient for Classic Hall, just steps from the bowling pin pool, and getting to the buses was not bad either.

Third visit I requested building 3 in the 50's because I knew those rooms were refurbished and building 1 was not. (Building 1 appears to be almost complete as I write this, though.) Once again I got my request, ground floor room 3112 and it was fantastic.

In my opinion the ground floor rooms are more convenient because you save steps on stairs or elevators, plus I think being on the ground floor is easier with a stroller, which we still use with my 4 year old. I have not experienced any "foot traffic noise" from upper floors.

I have been looking at the POP map...

I think I am going to request the 70's building...the part that branches out towards the Hippy Dippy Pool near the big Mickey phone (also near the Goofy Pop Jet Playground.) What do you think?

How do I know what building this is?

Have these been refurbished?

Thank you again for all the help. This board is so helpful! :thumbsup2

That is building 6. You can tell by the room numbers on the map 6101-6472. The only building that is a little tricky is the other 70's building, which is building 10 with the room numbering 0101-0472.

From all the reports, yes, both 70's building are done with refurbs.

I am taking my two children (4 and 7) down for their first time in January. We'll be staying at Pop for 10 nights. We are having a standard room. I was looking at the map that shows the preferred rooms. Am I reading it correctly that the lake-facing rooms in the 60s building are standard? They don't have the yellow line shown on them but I had thought all of the 60s were perferred. Also, it looks like the 50s facing the lake is also standard, correct? How exactly do I go about requesting one of these rooms? Thank you for your help! Though I've been to Disney a number of times as a child and teen, this is the first trip there that I have planned and don't know all the tricks just yet. :)

I'm not 100% sure about the 60's but it's my understanding some rooms in the 60's are preferred and some are standard, and that's it's not correct that the entire buildings are preferred.

For the 50's, you would request building 3 and request lake-facing. Call to have them update your reservation with those requests.

Once upon a time all of the 60's were preferred. They were the only preferred rooms. The map is correct. Only the highlighted areas are preferred now.

I know I might be in the minority here, but I really want to stay in the 80's building, I grew up in the 80's so thats the only request I have! Does anyone know of a good area in the 80's building to stay in? are the rooms in 80's all refurbed? what about the 90's? if we don't get 80's my cousin wants the 90's because thats the era she grew up in!

We were very impressed with pop. The room was very clean. We got two towel animals very cute.We had rooms 9154 and 9155 connecting on first floor. We only heard foot traffic twice. No overhead noise. We timed ourself from classic hall back to our room. It was a 3 minute walk. Close to bus stop.
We had a great time. The pop food court is awesome. We had lots of choices.:flower3:

OK. So do we pay upfront for the water ,and pay for the rest when they arrive? or do they charge it on the card we have used once they get the price? I personally just want it all put on the card so we don't have to worryy about missing them, etc. and just have it not thought about.

I can answer the refurb question. According to all the reports, both the 80's buildings and the 90's building are complete with refurbs. We're down to refurbs completing in the 50's with building 1 almost done and building 2 remaining.

Can you share the map that shows preferred / standard rooms.
The map I have saved does not have this info.
Thanks!!

I never actually ordered the beer but asked in case DD and friend wanted some so I don't know. Call them I found them very helpful!! You can also buy styrofoam coolers from them !!They are on the list so if you are not in a swap or paying for a fridge this is great!!!!

Just back from POP, we had room 8443 and 8442 in the 90's buildings (cell phones and laptop). It was a LONG LONG walk, although when we got back home and I checked the map it seems the stay we had in 50's the trip before this one was a longer walk...odd it didn't feel like it. I plan on requesting rooms next year....or upgrading to preferred.

The food court was a MESS around normal eating hours in the morning (anytime from 7am to about 8:30am) after that it seemed everyone was headed off to the parks and we weren't so crowded or stranded looking for a table. At lunch there was hardly anyone there and in the evenings it was good up until around 8pm then people started coming back from parks and eating. Breakfast we were also told we could get 2 drinks or a drink/pastry or a drink/fruit. Lunch and supper we were able to use dessert credits for an icecream or brownie sundae. They also had specials at each food court option during the week such as Reuben flatbread, Veggie Calzones...etc.

Everyone was friendly except one CM in the icecream section of the food court...she actually rolled her eyes at me when I asked about the milkshake flavors and meal credits. The new rooms are nice....although the tile in the bathroom really could have used an overhaul too, the grout is so dirty. The curtain between the bathroom and the bedroom was nice, but they need to install a snap on the wall about halfway down so you can secure the curtain....it doesn't really get too close to the wall with the track that it's on. There also needs to be a hook on the back of the bathroom door or one beside the sink. I had brought the hanging organizer for my makeup/the girls hairbows...etc and it was all nice and organized but no where to hang it so it was convenient to get to when getting ready.

We used a UV light when we arrived to check for bedbugs and also a lint roller....there were some tiny little ants in the bathroom but nothing on the mattresses. The UV light picked up a lot of 'ick' on the comforters and fuzzy blankets though....that was gross, so of course we didn't use those. Mousekeeping was friendly, and kept us well supplied with towels and a clean room :) Still those comforters obviously don't get washed a lot...might want to request clean ones or just do without them.

If you were there when we were....you may have seen us in our matching shirts. We were only asked 2 times all week (at parks) if we were from the DIS. I even sported my green Mickey Head on my bag LOL Pop was really crowded though, so it would have been easy to miss other DISers.

Welcome back and glad you had a great trip! :goodvibes We've enver found the 50
s to be a long walk, but would not want to be on the 90's - would be a bit too isolated for our preferences. Though I will add we've had much further walks at some deluxe resorts than any walk at POP - those hallways can be looooong!!!! ::yes::

I think there should be a health code law that all bedding must be washed between guests - it's pretty disgusting to be using these things over and over again. Guests get sick on the bed, change babies on the bed, put their shoes on the bed...and who knows what else. We always call for clean bedspreads as soon as we get to the room.:thumbsup2

Can anyone instruct me or give me advice on how to get a room close to Classic Hall? My mother and young dd are not big walkers. If anything my 4 yr old is very independent but tires easily and who is breaking their back carrying the whiny 35 lbs? Mommy is! LOL I plan to rent the push bugs in the parks for my dd who looks too big to be in a stroller and who also insists she is too big to be in one. Parents.. you know how this goes LOL.

What can I do to get a room close to the Pop food court and the buses?
