My sister and her family are staying at POR and are already there!! BOO!! So jealous!! Can't wait to be at POP!! Thanks again so much for everyone's help and advice!!:thumbsup2:cheer2:

Hey everybody! I booked a room at POP a couple of weeks ago for a February trip with my nephew. This will be my second trip to WDW and his first. :cool1:
Well last night, my mom told me that her and my dad may want to join us (after seeing Toy Story 3) so my question is how difficult will it be to add another room onto my reservation? Will it be hard to cancel it if they decide not to come?
Also, what is the difference between a connecting room and an adjoining room?
Thanks for any help! ;)

A connecting room has a common internal door so you can go in between both rooms without going outside. Adjoining rooms are just rooms right next to each other.

Hi...staying at POP for the first time next month! I requested a standard room on the first floor but then I started thinking maybe I could request a certain building. Does any one recommend a building with standard rooms that would be a bit closer to the bus stop and food court? Also, we will be using the pack n play that's in the room. I was going to bring my own sheets for it but was wondering if mousekeeping supplies them? TIA!

My preference are the 50s buildings. Building 1, which should be fully refurbed by your trip, is close for walks to the food court and convenient for ducking around the luggage area to go to the buses. I suspect the 70s buildings 10 and 6 may be comparably convenient, but I have not stayed in those buildings.

As for the pack 'n play, my experience is they provide sheets but not blankets, so you will probably want to bring a blanket. With some little kids that's not an issue because they will want to bring their "blankie." Certainly you could use your own sheets if you wished.

I just wanted to share my excitement about staying at POP January 29th-Feb 5th. We've haven't been to Disney in 6 years and it will be our first time staying at Pop not to mention my youngest DS-5 first trip to Disney. Life is good :cloud9:

All the buildings have at least some standard rooms. They'll be the ones on the side of the building away from the main pool and Everything Pop. The whole 90's and 2 80's buildings are standard location. The resort is pretty compact, so unless you have a mobility issue (in which case you wouldn't probably want a standard room), all the rooms are a hop skip and jump away. 80's and 90's look the furthest from the Everything Pop building, but if you walk along the front sidewalk toward the bus stops, and go in the door that is right behind the bus stop.. its shorter. I prefer the 70's building. You can walk through the center of each building, so even being on the back, its quick to get to the front, esp. if you're toward the center of the building. :hippie:

When we booked our three rooms in August, 2009 for September 2010 my requests were 60's lake side first floor- we have people with an assortment of body problems-- from very bad backs to bad legs.

The agent made sure all three rooms were linked together. We did online check in- and arrive to find it took over 45 minutes to get it all together. Our three rooms were scattered throughout the resort- one room in 50's, One room in 70's and another in 90's. ( I mean we were all spread far apart.)

So he had to make changes- I told the guy about our requests and how long ago I booked this--- and online check in 10 days ago. He said there was no rooms available in the 60's.

We received 50's third floor facing the garden-- as far away from the elevator as possible-- but close to stairs (no good for us as we had two wheel chairs and a stroller)

Was kinda disappointed but what can ya do.
I think next time we will go with a moderate and rent a car.

OK I am getting a little nervous about getting a connecting room. I asked for this when booking the room and was planning on doing the 10 day check in thing but was told by the CM not to do this that I would have a better chance at getting my request when we arrive?!?! Doesn't make sense to me to do this:confused3. I really want to call the resort line and ask someone else because if we don't get the connecting room I will NEVER hear the end of it from dear MIL (believe me, she can NAG...will never EVER go back to Atlantic City with her and seriously thinking I made a mistake by inviting her on this trip...love her but what a PIA:lmao:, on the flip side she is so good to her granddaughter!:goodvibes)

We paid for a preferred room and I asked for 60's, first floor, pool side but none of that matters as much as that darn connecting room :-) :rolleyes1 ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!:worship:

Oh, one more ? I have..... We are not planning on renting a car but if we change our minds is there a way to rent one at the Concierge desk or something? We never had a problem taking the buses everywhere but we are traveling with our DD who has autism and although she only had trouble one time with the bus (had a huge melt down in the days before she could effectively communicate her needs and she needed to use the bathroom as I was rushing us all to the buses....hind sight is always 20/20 but the folks at Disney are AMAZING and they saw our issue and the manager of the bus area drove us door to door back to our room from DHS to ASMu!!!!) I don't want to torture her with being in a confined place if she can't handle it this time around.

TIA

As long as the req is on the original booking I don't understand why your chances of getting it will be any less with online check. When you go to the online check in desk just ask if they were able to fill your request for connecting rooms and if not ask if they will please see if they can fill it then. Tell them if they dont have it when your mother starts nagging you will tell her to come see them. lol If your worried then just check in the regular way and do the same thing if they don't fulfill it there.

Just make sure your first request on the reservation is connecting rooms and the rest after that. If your mother in law nags tell her to go nag to concierge because you did all you could and it just was not available so you don't want to hear it. I hate to say it but my luck at Pop has always been that I don't get my request but others have good luck there. There is nothing you can do to absolutly guarantee it since it all depends what rooms are available when you check in. You could also always ask if there will be any available the day after you check in and then move to the new rooms then.

Good luck

No car service is available at concierge but you can keep the number for Enterprise on hand and they will pick you up to go get the car. I believe they are still at the car care center (hess outside of MK) and at one of the DTD hotels as well.

We got back from POP on 24th Sept. Had a fab time, we were there for 14 days.
We had requested a room on a high floor, but at check in we were given 3rd floor in the 50's. I actually wanted top floor (cuts out half of the possibility of noise from other rooms!!) so politely asked if they had anything top floor overlooking the computer pool (we like it there) and immediately got room 9403. Fab
Staff were very helpful and we had a wonderful time. Guess it depends on how busy they are. Lifeguard told us they were only at 48% occupancy during that week. Still no excuse for giving a party who book together rooms in 3 seperate buildings though!!

Many of the resorts have the bounty breakfast platter on the menu but I see on AllEars.net that Pop is not listed as one of them. Like, possibly THE only resort without it...the menus were last updated May 2009...is it possible this is a mistake? An oversight?

So, my questions is...can anyone confirm (or positively deny) the existence of the breakfast bounty platter at Pop??

TIA

I can confirm that the bounty platter was available at Pop last week. It was scrambled eggs, biscuit, sausage, bacon, french toast sticks.
Oh and we learned that on the DDP you can get a bowl of fruit or pastry instead of the second drink.

Yes, POP has the bounty platter and I believe is was $8.29

Thanks so much! Wow! That was a quick response!

I'm glad to hear this...we don't eat much for breakfast but I NEED some protein to start my day. I can't survive on cereal and pastries, although DH plans to do so. One bounty platter and some fruit will feed me, DD7 and DS5.

Thanks again.

Subbing! We have our first Pop stay booked in December, in preferred rooms - can't wait!!! Is the Lady and the Tramp area part of the preferred rooms area? - I love that film!!!!
