Does anyone remember which thread someone posted all those awesome pics of the Pop food court and signs in? I looked in the Pop picture thread and I scanned this thread kind of briefly, but can't find the pictures. I looked in the first post on this thread as well hoping to find a link to it, but didn't see it. I can't even remember exactly when they were posted either, which of couse didn't help in my search efforts. Can anyone point me in the right direction? THX!

Not sure if this is the one you are talking about, but I thought it had some good pictures and it was one I sent to my daughter to look at.

Just came back from a two weeks stay at POP. I'll come back later with a bigger review as I don't have my notes right now, but just wanted to say that we LOVED it!

Goofy Jets were not working, and one time we saw a pool party/activities around 3pm.

I called and added on my requests to my reservation. King bed, Lakeview, top floor. I am hoping to get the first two, if not all three. Based on the number of rooms that meet these requests I doubt I will get one that matches all three, but I can hope, right?

I thought I read on this thread that there are no King beds on the top floor, only on the first three. We requested King Bed, NOT first floor, and quiet area (no pool or parking view, so basically garden or lakeview) and got all our requests met. :goodvibes

I posted all the menus/prices and food options from our May/June trip on the POP picture thread - They are towards the end of the photo thread - let me see if I can find the specific page -:surfweb:

ETA: The pictures I posted are on page 35 of the POP picture thread.

Can you link that thread, please?

YES! :cool1: That is exactly the set of picures I was looking for!! Thanks so much for posting those!! It would really be incredible to have a link to your photos on the first page of this thread. Minnie&Nana do you think a link to chocovrdmicears food and food court pictures could be added to the new thread when we get to that point? And chocovrdmicears would you mind if the link was there? The details and prices are extremely helpful for planning purposes.

I wouldn't mind at all..happy to help. :goodvibes It would make all the eye rolling :rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2 that my kiddos gave me while I took pictures of anything and everything in the food court worth it. ;)

Just got back from our 1st trip to Disney. A few thoughts on our stay at POP ....

1. Our family of four managed perfectly in the small rooms. Now, we only slept there so we weren't looking for anything special.

2. Requested room #4458 and got #4457. We were only "home" two nights to watch fireworks from the balcony but we could see a ton of fireworks from Wishes and some from Illuminations. We even saw a few from Fantasmic. I'm not kidding. It was pretty cool. My girls (6 and 8) were thrilled. I wasn't expecting to see as much as I did. Very pleasant surprise. Many commented on only being able to see the high fireworks of Illuminations, but I don't know if there was ever mention of Wishes.

3. We only ate breakfast and breakfast snacks at Pop. For the most part people were considerate, but at times people were quite rude and messy.

4. Hippy Dippy pool was too crowded for us. My girls really liked the water pop-up jets (not Goofy jets) behind the Hippy Dippy Pool. I didn't know they were there? They did have tons of games and music during the afternoon hours. A movie every night at 9 pm. During our stay they showed Tangled, Cars, Gnomeo and Juliet, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. and I think Up.

5. Mousekeeping was just okay. Nothing over the top for us. We did tip them $4 each day. We only received one towel animal, but my kids really didn't care.

6. Yes, the shampoo/conditioner was awful. Glad I brought our own stuff. A 3 oz. bottle of shampoo and a 3 oz. bottle of conditioner was plenty for my two daughters and myself for showers everyday. We stayed for 6 nights/7 days and have shoulder length hair. My girls shared a travel sized toothpaste tube and that amount was perfect. (Just in case you were wondering how much to pack. :))

7. I have never done laundry on vacation and it was fine. The washers are very small. I brought a pillowcase from home to put dirty laundry in. I dumped the laundry and the pillowcase in the washer ($2) and then in the dryer ($2). When everything was dry I used the clean pillowcase to transport the laundry. (One dry cycle was plenty. I used one Purex laundry sheet.)

8. Buses were always coming and going in a timely manner. Drivers were always friendly. My only complaint about the buses was the scooters and the time it took to load them. (Nothing against those using them. Please do not take it the wrong way.)

9. I bet every other day we forgot to lock our safe. It contained two ipod and a laptop. Nothing was ever touched. Felt very safe at POP.

Things to remember the next time we stay at Pop ...

I'll buy a big bottle of wine for $15 vs a tiny bottle/glass for $7. Oops, wasn't thinking.

Figure out a better use for the 5 hooks that are on the wall before entering the bathroom. Every inch in a POP room should be used!

Going to remember to bring a small lunch box ice pack and freeze it with ice-cubes each night. My kids brought home so many grapes, carrots and desserts from the dining plan. In the park, I filled zip-locs with ice-cubes to keep stuff cold. It worked fine, but a freezer pack would have been a better option.

Oatmeal packets. I saw one family eating oatmeal everyday. They used the microwave and some bowls they brought from home. We brought Clif bars and those seemed to fill up my kids pretty good in the morning. (I like that they are packed with protein and are organic.)

We put glow sticks (purchased at Target for $1) around our resort mugs before bed to find them easier for a quick drink in the middle of the night.

We moved one of the chairs between the bed and the bathroom wall for my 8-yr old to put her resort mug, a few tissues, etc. Otherwise the girls would fight for the side of the bed by the table. Seriously?!

At $2 an inch (near the Hippy Dippy pool), I am going to perfect hair wrapping. :rotfl: See this video.

Funny POP story
My 6-year old was going to the bathroom and announced that when the toilet paper rolls off, it sounds like a roller coaster going up a hill. She's right!! :lmao:

Overall great trip. No crowds!! We walked on almost every ride. Can't wait to go back.

HAHA! My girls are younger (4.5 & 2.5) and they'd be like that, too... I guess it doesn't get better as they grow, eh? ;)

Glad you had a great trip!

Homeschoolmomof4 ~ Absolutely we will add the link and thank you for the suggestion! :goodvibes

chocovrdmicears ~ thank you!! :flower3: Although your kiddos might not appreciate all those pics, we do! :)

Tonight we worked on the new thread until Janet lost power from the hurricane! We will have the basics up within a day or so, but will be tweaking it, adding photos, color etc over the next several days. Too bad work gets in the way of fun!:rotfl: Thanks in advance for your patience!:goodvibes

Correct. And they have been testing wifi at some places. I know Coronado Springs was testing free wifi for it's guests in certain buildings while we wer there last week. We talked about this at the agent program and they understand that Disney is behind the times, when everywhere else offers wifi, and most places for free.

I agree, Disney was just milking the cow as long as it could but needs to catch up with the times.

Just back from Pop last night !!! They have added lots of activities for the kids . I heard it started about 3 weeks ago !! Every night there is a Disney movie on a huge screen !I saw it in front of the Hippy Hoppy pool and on the grass in front of the foodcourt and even on the Goofy Jet Streams (which are not working) Also have Pool games all day long and a Pop Parade thru the lobby in the evening !! There well be more that I didn't see, but these are great additions !! Pop as always was GREAT!!

A few notes from my stay at Pop during August 20-27th 2011:

1. Online check-in and requests - Months before the trip I called to add requests for 50's building 1 and ground floor. When I checked in online, the choice for ground floor was already selected. When I checked in at Pop, the CM asked about my requests. My assigned room was in 70's building 6 ground floor, which I almost took, but I asked can you make the change to building 1. She was able to make that change. I was pleased the CM took the time to check the requests despite it being online check-in. But this is the first time (out of three) that my requests were not originally honored with the room assignment.

2. Online check-in line - This is also the first time I've seen the online check-in line be a better choice. When I arrived around noon on Sat Aug 20, the regular registration line was very long. The online check-in line was much shorter. On previous visits the length of both lines seemed pretty much the same.

3. Extra towels near elevators - In the evenings in building 1 they were putting out a cart with extra towels in the elevator area. This was really convenient for nighttime pool visits and for grabbing towels for water parks the next day. I had not seen this towel cart on previous trips. I assume other buildings also had these extra towels, but I don't know.

4. Refillable mug colors - When we arrived on Sat there was a lot of colors available -- black, blue, pink, green, purple, and orange. But by the second and third days the supply was only down to black, blue, and pink. The shelves were full so I guess the other colors weren't restocked at Pop.

5. Pop Century pins - It was nice to see some resort-specific merchandise. There were two kinds of Pop Century trading pins available.

6. Pool activities - One afternoon we spent a few hours at the Hippy Dippy pool. CMs were doing different activities inside and outside the pool. For example, in the pool they played Mickey Pluto (Marco Polo). Outside the pool there was Name That Tune games, ring toss, relay races with "holey" buckets, etc. (And there was the group activity called -- please exit the pool temporarily. :) We saw that twice.)

7. Poolside movies - On Sunday evening there was an inflatable screen set up near the ping pong tables. They played Toy Story 3. (At one point the movie and the screen became unplugged and the whole screen fell forward. :) ) I don't know if there were movies other nights -- I didn't see any.

8. Goofy Pop Jets - Yep, still not working.

We were in room 4450 on one of our stays and I thought that was a great location (that whole "wing"). Like you, we could see all 3 fireworks locations -- but especially Illuminations. We thought that room location was better than some of the preferred locations that people paid more money for. It had great views during the day and at night, was a quiet location, and was close to both the pool and the main building. I'd love to have that location again. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

We were there August 10-24th. When we first arrived the only colors they had for refillable mugs were pink, blue and black. After about a week they started filling out the shelves with purple, orange, green, and maybe even yellow (though I might have imagined that one). They seemed to be phasing out the pink, blue and black at that point, but I guess they started restocking it soon after.

LOL - me, too! Although I have longer to wait than you...:bored:

 PLEASE do not use this thread to check your countdown tickers. The thread has a page limit, and we asked just yesterday, please only post questions/answers or reviews until we can get the new thread up.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much!:goodvibes
