Oooo, good point! I didn't think of that. We really don't need mousekeeping everyday, but we may need new towels on the days we don't use mousekeeping... can we request that?

:goodvibes You don't even need to request it. If your "do not disturb" sign is out, they will just put a bag of towels and toiletries on your door.

Follow our TR, my daughter works very hard on it!!! popcorn::
Anything else you want to know just ask...
Oh yeah, took a tour of a refurbed room and posted pics on that thread!!

Have you posted a link? We leave in a little over a month and I love passing the time by reading TRs :) :)

$5 Day sounds about right. But you could save some money buy having mousekeeping clean your room every other day just leave the "do not disturb" tag on the door.

Good reply, question and reply! Thank you all! I'm leaving in about 8 hours! :cheer2: OK, what about asking for EXTRA towels before you leave for the pool? :confused3 - IF you leave the DND tag on the door? Still work?

You can just call housekeeping when you get to your room and they will send extra towels.

Does anyone know what time the food court opens in the morning and what time it gets really busy?

Yes food court opens at 6:00 am every day, and starts to get full about 8 or 9am. Tho i never stay to eat i just grabbed coffee and go at 8:00 right when the Disney buses start to arrive.

After staying at POR for our first trip a few weeks ago we are considering a trip next May at the Pop.

This may be completely wrong but- are preferred rooms always on the first floor?

Do you know how much easier that would make my life lol. Our room at POR was n the 2nd floor FAR from the elevator- it was much easier to walk up the flight of stairs- how ever after doing thise several times with 2 little ones, and 2 strollers in tow in got a bit annoying!

What is your opinion on preferred rooms at the pop? With two little ones, 4 and 1, are they worth the extra cost?

Thanks!

First of all a preferred room according to Pop is a room facing the pool no matter what floor you are in. I personally prefer a room on the first floor facing the lake its a lot more quiet and calm and you don't have to run up down stairs or wait for an elevator, It the best of both worlds. Besides a walk to the pool from any room on the first floor is not that far except if you stay in 70 building where they have no pool.

Preferred rooms are not all on the first floor.

I don't think they're worth the cost. They aren't necessarily closer to the bus stop than non-preferred rooms. Also, they're often noisier than non-preferred rooms.

BTW, Pop is a much smaller resort than POR.

Thanks Jaime!

Is there a certain building that is closest to the kid pool and goofy shooting water things ?

Sure, the 60's building is where you will find the kids "Hippy Dippy Pool". As for Goofy's water pop jets area close to the 70's building next to a large blue "duncan" yoyo.

Pop is Smaller than POR? thats great news! Thank you for all your help!

So we want to stay on the first floor, facing the lake, in the 60s or 70s section then, right? Anything else I need to consider?

How likely are they to meet our preferences- with POR we requested one thing and got the complete opposite lol.

I think most people prefer a room that is facing the pool that what Disney Tells me.

When people on here discuss preferred rooms they aren't actually talking about rooms that people prefer, but rather the rooms that the resort consider preferred, which are priced differently than standard rooms.

Not exactly accurate. Preferred rooms at the Value resorts - not just Pop Century - are within a five hundred foot radius of Classic Hall. By the way, the furthest room from Classic Hall is only 750 feet (just for comparison ;)). One third of the rooms in the 70's are Preferred, yet there is no pool at all in that decade; forty-eight of the Preferred rooms in the 50's and 96 of the Preferred rooms in the 60's also do not face pools.

The kiddie pool is at the far end of the Hippy Dippy pool from Classic Hall. Goofy's Jets are on the right as you approach the 70's - so, the two are really nowhere near each other.

I was in the 60's two years ago and not facing the pool. This is correct.
