Going to Disney for the first time in just over 1 more week and will be staying at the POP....

are you able to buy bananas or yogurt in the food court? I'm so torn about placing an order w/ the Garden Grocer. We'll have a fridge along w/ a coffee maker in the room and we're on the DDP. We'll be having breakfast out 2 mornings but the other 5 we'll be eating in the room. I think in the parks we'll be getting water from CS places but will need stuff to drink while taking our afternoon rests....refillable mug? water/soda from GG? ugh, I just don't know. I wish someone would do the little things for me. I've spent months planning all the big stuff....resort, flights, ADRS, which parks on which days. All that I can handle. Whether to buy a mug and/or order from GG has me stumped! :rotfl:

We are doing both. We will have the cups for the adults and are ordering some juice for the kids. We placed an order with Garden grocer and they seemed really nice. We ordered milk & yogart from them and they assured us it would be kept cold until we arrived (our delivery is getting the resort about 9 hours ahead of us). It just seemed easier to have all the little stuff in the room for first thing in the morning or mid day snacks or even bedtime snacks. It is only a $12 delivery fee and I'm sure that we will be saving that by not buying it at the resort.

I hope you have a great trip.

Hi everyone! I haven't been in a few days. My mom has been in the hospital with a irregular heartbeat. She is fine now but will be on a blood thinner for the rest of her life. It is so amazing what they do and how far medical technology has come. They stopped her heart for like 10 seconds and shocked it back into the correct rhythm. So I have been busy with her and college. I have 9 days to go until my first stay at POP! Even going next week was up in the air because I wasn't sure if she would be okay enough to come to my house and watch my younger son- he is staying home because of school and football. Her doctor told her today that she would fine to come to my house for a week. She went to the doctor's this morning and went to the casino this afternoon- ha!

Sorry one more thing- I hope they offer me a bounceback for next fall- that would be great!!

You'll love it . I do both. I order from wegoshop and I also get mugs. This time they are free for us as we are on the DxDDP. I would ask yourself how often you will fill the mug. If it's 5x's or more than it's worth it. We use ours at home every morning. It's our souvie for the trip!

Yes you can get bananas and yogurt at the resort. It would save you time if you just had it all in the room. Plus it wouldn't be much more even w/ the delivery cost seeing you would be paying Disney prices at the resort. Have a wondeful trip. We'll be there too!!!:dance3: We arrive in 8 days :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

Thank you both for your advice....which was basically the same...so I think I'll be following it! It WOULD be nice to have juice, yogurt, bananas and such right there in the room. I can order DH's hazelnut coffee creamer, too! We can always decide while we're there if we want the mug and you're right..it makes for a good souvenier! Thanks for helping me make up my mind. Only 11 more days.....I can't believe it!! :yay:

I called the other day and the CM told me that bounceback is being offered but it is only good up to Sept of Next year. that does not help me because we are going in December.

I was going to reserve for September 30th into October. Don't give up hope though because they may be something offered like free dining into december of next year for the general public- like they did this year.

Thanks for the help. One more quick question. How do they charge you for the access? Is it somehting they just tack onto our room charges daily or is it something I have to physically pay for everytime? Thanks

They charge it right to your room account as you use it.

Help ... I am going to be making a reservation at Chef Mickey's. This is my dilemma ... I want to make the reservation as early as possible (we're early risers). I know that Chef Mickey's starts at 7:00.

I read in one place that the buses start running 1/2 an hour before the first character breakfast, and then in another place I read that the buses start running at 7:00, so I am confused. :confused3

Do any of you Pop experts out there know if the buses actually do start at 6:30 or 7:00? If they do start running at 6:30 do you think we'd have enough time to get to Chef Mickey's for 7:00 or would it be best to get a 7:30 reservation?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know how early that they start for sure, but I know that everyone has told me to allow 1 - 1.5 hours to get there....so with that in mind I would think you would want to do at least 7:30pm. You have to keep in mind the bus time as well as getting into the park and to the restaurant.

We are going to be at POP on Saturday....I can't wait!! The days are not going by fast enough. At the same time though I don't want it to come because that means it's going to be over soon.

I was going to ask the same question basicly, what time do the buses start running-- if I have a ADR @ 8:05am @MK what time do the buses start coming?? Has anyone done this b4 that know what time they start, I wonder if I am better off getting a car-but then where am I going to park, that I can get to may ressie?? (I don't think that TTC starts picking up that early do they?

I would check with guest services as times do change throughout the year, but I'd plan in being at the bus stop no later than 7:15. :thumbsup2 No need for a car, you'll be fine!!
:goodvibes

DON'T take a car, it will take A LOT longer to get there.

We had a 8:30 am ADR at CP in MK, and left around 7:15 from AS Sports, and got there by 8 am and were seated by 8:15 am. I always plan at least an hour when at Pop also, and that works well.

For Chef Mickey's, I don't know how early the buses run, but they say Disney will get you to their own stuff on time, so inquire at the desk ahead of time how you can do that.

Once you get to MK on the bus, the walkway to Contemporary is an easy walk and only takes a few minutes. We were glad we didn't walk all the way to the Monorail and then wait for that. We took the monorail back to have time to digest. LOL
We wanted to know how exactly that path went, so we looked it up on Google Earth. [I'm a crazy over planner, I know. LOL]

The buses start at 6:30.

I would be at the bus stop at 7:00.

Where is that walking path from MK to Contemp.? We have 9am res & figure we will hit a lot of bus traffic from people trying to make rope drop at MK.

Ok, I'll do my best! LOL

When you get off the buses, there is a street between you and the MK border. If you face the MK entrance pathway, the bus stations are to the left, and the street is to the right.
Usually you stay to the left, and follow the pathway around to the entrance of the MK.
Instead, carefully cross the street to a reddish sidewalk UNDER the monorail track. If you go left on it, it connects back with the pathway to MK, if you go right, it will take you all the way to the Contemporary.
There is an intersection of two streets before you get to the Contemporary parking lot. This is where the MK buses turn into the MK bus drop off.
At this intersection, there is a crosswalk with a stop light. There is also a button to push to cross on the lamp post (It took us a few minutes to notice it, duh!)
Once you cross the street, you will be skirting the Contemporary entrance and parking lot. It will be evident how it curves around to the right toward the hotel. You will come to a main entrance, where the Contemp's bus stop is, and there will be directions to Chef Mickey's.
The walk took us only a few minutes.

Would I do it in the heat of the day??? :confused3
But first thing in the morning it was great.

Happy to answer any other questions. :wizard:

We always have at least one breakfast at Kona while staying at POP. We leave an hour ahead of time and take the bus to EPCOT. Then we transfer to the monorail to the TTC. It's a very short walk to the Polynesian from there and it's soooooo pleasant at that time of the morning! We have never been pushed for time.
I would use this same trip for a meal at the Contemporary (swapping to the resort monorail at the TTC), but the walk from MK is just so short, it doesn't seem worth it
I have never taken a cab, but I am curious to see what the answers are for the prices. You never know when something will come up that makes you run behind and you need the time savings.
