I knew they removed the frozen coke machines but I didn't remember reading about the apple juice being gone too, I missed it last week

I posted that when I came back in march. From the sounds of it had it only recenlty been replaced then.

I do not suggest renting a car. Magical Express does a great job getting us from the airport to the hotel. (It is worth noting that we do not have them claim our luggage and transport it to the room. We pick up our luggage and then take it to the Magical Express Bus. Disney lost our checked luggage once, and now we always have our "things".)

The transportation around the world is usually great, with the exception of leaving the parks after an evening Event, such as fireworks at MK or Fantasmic at DHS. On those evenings, we just order a taxi to pick us up. The number is 407-699-9999. We usually pay under $20, with tax, and get home quickly and without drama.

We waited once for several hours to get a bus from the Magic Kingdom, after fireworks, and decided to NEVER do that again.

It is much cheaper to use a Taxi the few times that Disney Transportation is overwhelmed than to pay for a rental car and its gas.

Oh, a Taxi is also a nice option for getting to another resort for a meal....such as Hoop Dee Doo. Oh, if you do use Disney transportation to the Hoop Dee Doo, just grab a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then grab the boat to Ft. Wilderness. We have found that to be the most direct route.

Hope that helps.

So what happened when Disney lost your luggage? That is my biggest fear when we travel.

We each had a checked piece of luggage, all were matching red bags. We had a direct flight, and none of our luggage ended up in our room about five hours after we checked into the hotel.

Thus began the saga to get our bags. We reported the bags as not delivered and they seemed.....to act like it was no big deal and told us that they delivered all of the luggage that had arrived, and suggested Southwest had lost our luggage.

I called Southwest and began a search for the missing luggage.

After midnight I called down again to see if anything had turned up and they told me they had found one bag. GREAT. I waited for over half an hour....but still no bag was delivered. I called down again and they said, oh, you wanted that delivered tonight? It is so late....Grrr, yes I want it delivered. I just talked to you and you knew I was up, and at that time I asked you how long it would take, and you said, "we will get right on that."

I went down to the luggage storage area and asked to walk around, low and behold I found my son's bag, in addition to the bag they had "discovered" just sitting there.

I got those bags back to our room and then we got ready and headed out to Epcot. Of course the sky opened and of course our ponchos were in ....my bag which was still missing.

I ended up in a store at Epcot, crying. I just wanted my stinking luggage. The very wonderful CM asked what was wrong and I blubbered to her. She made a phone call and within 30 minutes told me my bags had been found and would be in my room. She then gave me free ponchos for the family.

I love that woman.

So, in short. I love Magical Express but I will NEVER let them be in charge of getting my bags to my room. That luggage area was crazy packed, disorganized, and full of very un-Disney employees.

That said, I still love the mouse.

They have NO PROBLEM at all if you grab your luggage off the conveyor belt and bring it to the bus, they put it below, and then you have all your stuff right off the bat.

Plus, if the airline really lost your bags, you can start the HUNT while you are still at the airport (within the alloted time to do so) and then when they finally come in the airline will messenger the bags to your resort.

If you don't see your bags after you land, then you have no idea which entity needs to be searching for bags, nor who is responsible should the bags become permanently lost.

OMG we leave tomorrow and I am super excited :yay: and hoping that I am not forgetting some?! :confused3

I hope it all goes well and maybe we will run into some of you there!!

Congrats to those that have upcoming trips to Disney and staying at Pop! :thumbsup2
We stayed there in May/June and absolutely loved the resort. :cloud9:

It's been a while since I was on this thread. I had the post Disney blues and I just didn't have the heart to look. However, we're going back in Oct. 2010 and that means that I'll be making regular visits to stay up-to-date on the happenings at Pop.

We will be arriving at POP tomorrow also, these last few hours will just kill you with anticipation.

"I am too excited to sleep"

:dance3:

Eyore's Wife... That is awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through such a hassle! But the part about the woman in the Epcot store that helped you out then gave you the ponchos for free... that just goes to show you how wonderful the Disney CM's can be! That is exactly what I love about Disney!! Glad everything worked out in the end!

Have a great trip. How long are you staying? We will be at POP on 10/1.

A whole week!!!!

This time tomorrow we'll be touching down in Orlando and off to POP for the week ! finally !

Woohoo!!:cool1:

OMG we leave tomorrow and I am super excited :yay: and hoping that I am not forgetting some?! :confused3

Can you use ME with Southwest Airlines? I have seen different reports.
How are Christmas dec at POP?
Is it a pain w/o the fridge?
I may have more, but that is all for now....

thanks!

Wow, just 2 sleeps and we'll be on a plane to the other side of the world to "THE World" and my son is sooooooooooo excited about coming to The Pop.

Honestly, the way he talks about the hotel, it's like if we spend 10 days hanging out there and never visit the inside of a park he'll be as happy as a clam.

He saw it on a show on the Travel channel earlier in the year and was hooked. So managing to bring him half way round the world just to see a HOTEL has been a feat within itself!

Only 6 more sleeps for me!!:banana::banana::banana:

My kids love POP! I think they'd also be happy if we just stayed there and never left. It really is a cool place with a great feel to it! It's delightfully tacky!

We leave for the airport in 2 hours! :woohoo: It's our first stay at Pop and mine and DH's first "childless" trip in 21 years! :yay: Thanks for all the great info on this thread!:thumbsup2

We have 2 more sleeps OR one sleep & a wake up every hr to see if it is time to get up. We have to leave for the airport at 6am, so we need to get up early anyway.
