Just back from Pop last night. We had a great stay! Did not do a room request and got a great room in 60's building 4 room 4359 very quiet. Did not wait long for busses except after night time shows. Seems like alot of people were at pop for free dining, because the crowds at the parks were low and when we left the parks it seemed most people were going with us to Pop. They did do a good job of sending 2 busses at a time for all of us.

We leave in 9 days for our 1st stay at Pop!!! I just mailed at my package to the resort today so it's coming up quick!!! I have to stop reading the DIS and start getting stuff together!!!
I hope we love Pop as much as you all do!!!:)

We will be arriving Monday Sept. 14 around 8PM at POP!!! I can't wait...first visit to POP!!!

Should I just save 1000.00 and stay at pop. Seriously we are 5 but my baby is one and step son is 17. This is his last trip as he will be leaving for the service soon. We are booked at ASMU suites right now. But do I actually need the extra room? We will be there for 8 nights. Please tell me how it is with 5. I figure it would get me ready for our cruise next year at only 214 sq feet.

We arrive just a few days after you. I guess I had better finish getting my box loaded up this weekend so I can send it early next week.

We are taking a small coffee pot, coffee, robes, tension rod and curtain for the bathroom area. Oh now I really need to think and make sure I don't miss anything.

if it were me I'd probably save the $1000 and stay at Pop, but you need to decide what works for you. 5 in a room can be tight, but if you aren't spending a ton of time at the hotel it might be fine. Are you going to be going back each afternoon so the little ones can rest? Might be tough all in one room. Also, only one bathroom with only one sink, compared to ASMu two bathrooms. Will that make getting out in the morning an issue? Will your 17 year old want to share a bed with a younger child?

We stayed 5 in a room at POR last year, which is slightly bigger rooms, and we were fine, but my kids are bigger (19, 12 and 9) and we didn't spend a ton of time in the room.

I second this. We've done 4 in the room 3 years now. It was Me, DH, DD (7) and my 82 year old grandmother. We didn't find it bad at all. We don't spend a whole lot of time "hanging" out in the room though. We did have several breakfasts in the room and it worked out well for us. What we did about getting ready was my DH and usually DD would shower the night before. We usually swam every night so a shower was a must for DD. I think you would be fine and I'd say save the $. Spend it on something more fun then a few extra feet in a room!

How much would you save if you got two adjoining rooms at POP? It would allow for more space and still save some money, also, next time you go with DS17, you will be able to go to SOG which I have read has bigger rooms for less $$$.

I leave in the morning for POP!!!!!!!!!

Have a great trip!!!

2 rooms at pop only saves me around 180.00. So that is not a big deal.

Would a mod be a better savings? The rooms at CBR are a bit larger (340 sq ft). We've had a rollaway at CBR & FQ and it worked out fine.

Hope something works out that will be a savings over the ASMu Suites. :goodvibes

If you aren't in the rooms much, then I would go for it. We don't do much room time and even when we are back at the resort we are at the pool or walking around.

I think thats a great savings there.

Last summer there was still an ATM in the POP Lobby - it's off in an area across from the Gift Shop, on the way to the bus - Perhaps someone who has been there recently will remember which bank - think it was Sun Trust - but could be wrong b/c Sun Trust handled Disney Resort ATM's for yrs and then we noticed the bank had changed.

Best to bring along a small fan. :thumbsup2

Hi, just wanted to ask you all that have gone to Pop... this will be our first visit there and a little nervous. We don't have a "preferred" room so I was wondering which room to request, I would love one that is on the corner (so I don't have people on both sides of me) not really that concerned about floor - but would probably like higher floor. Would like to be near (some what) to the bus stop & food court, also may be renting a car so near the parking lot. With all this said my main concerns are corner room and near bus stop, food court. Thanks for everyones help!

You could make those your requests:

1. Corner Room
2. near bus stop
3. upper floor

If it is near the bus it will be near the food court. Parking is trickier - would not include that as a request.

The end room may be the harder for them to assign if the resort is full, but those are pretty generic requests, so you may have good luck :) Be sure to ask again at check-in if they can find a room that meets your requests. Sometimes it is not assigned, but the CM can find one if asked to check. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

We have 5 and yes, its a little tight, but we figure that we really only use the room to sleep and shower in the morning and thats it. my dh and I really love going to WDW, and we will do whatever it takes to be able to go. It's all magical, it's Disney! POP is a good resort, the kids love it and you cant get just about anything you want. Have fun, only 14 more days till we are back and I am so excited!!

unless something has changed since the last weekend of April, the ATM is still there and it's a Chase ATM :)

I know I've seen it mentioned here somewhere -- what's the space of the door opening, to do the tension rod/curtain thing between the bathroom and sleep area?
