Ok so we leave in a couple of days. We have never stayed @ Pop and after a few weeks of debating, we too decided not to do a room request. We booked preferred but never being there before and thought we would take what we got. I hope we don't regret it.

Just wanted to let you know that a preferred room does not mean you will get the 60's so if you would like to try for the 60's I would add to my ressie by calling disney or travel agent however you booked! There are preferred rooms in the 50's, 60's and 70's ! I just got back on sept 3rd! I had a preferred room in the 60's but was not happy because we are night swimmers and someone kept calling every night and complaining about noise and had the pool closed which was uncalled for but after midnight once they get a complaint of a violation of the quiet rules they close the pool it doesn't matter if they know who it is or not it gets closed! When we were in the 50's last yr we could swim all night and they would tell us that we could goto the 50's or 80's but this one was closing I was really mad because I paid just as much money as those complaining most times for no apparent reason ! Just FYI as it may not even effect you.;)

I just got home on the 3rd also. I can't beieve someone reported noise. We were in the 60's pool side, but back closer to the kiddie pool. I wasn't at the pool late, but was up late every night and never heard any excessive noise.

After several trips to Disney, this was my first stay on property. Loved it and I'm bouncing back with free dinning August 28, 2010!:banana::banana:

Mine was #5110. We couldn't have been far apart! How crazy is that? :goodvibes I was right near the kiddie pool also ground floor .

This was our second stay at Pop and it was just great as it was last year. Pop is now officially our favorite WDW resort.

It's got a fun, energetic vibe. The lake is beautiful. Love the food court and the Cast Members are the best. :) We had great housekeeping too.

We stayed in the 50's this time (were in the 60's last year). We were in Building 2, facing the lake per my faxed request. It was convenient to our car, but was a hike to the main building. At Pop, you have to weigh out what means most to you--close proximity to parking or close to the main amenities. You can't get both if you want to be on the lake.

My only complaint (and it isn't just about Pop--it's all Disney resorts) is that everything closes at midnight and that's too early when the parks are open late. We were at MK for EMH Thursday night and didn't get back until 11:45--too late to grab a meal at the food court or a drink at the pool bar.

Anyway, I am happy to report that we were very satisfied with the resort this trip. :) I'd be glad to answer any questions.

How are the hair dryers @ Pop? I'm debating on bringing my own but would love to not have to pack it if not needed.

I would bring my own especially if you have long or thick hair. The ones they provide don't have enough power for me.

20 days till my stay at POP for the first time .I am on a weeks Vacation now in San Diego I am just going to stay packed lol.

Lucky you. Here in the north we are just about putting our summer clothes away but I am saving mine for the trip.

Now that is one thing that has never bothered me- late night pool noise. I love the idea of people having fun because they are on vacation. We have stayed preferred several times at AS Sports and have had rooms directly facing the pool- never had an issue.

If you are not happy with your room location just nicely ask the CM (at check-in) if they can find one in another location - this can be done even after you see your room, but it's a bigger pain for you, going back to the front desk etc.

So try not to worry, unless they are booked solid, you can change the room easily!

Have a fabulous trip!!! :goodvibes

21 hours and 25 minutes till the airplane takes off!

I didn't put in a room request and now I am nervous about it. I thought I'd leave it up to the room fairies to choose. I figured if I requested a room location and hated it, my DH would never let up about it. So "sprinkle fairy dust" room fairies for a great room location!

I requested Pool side in the 50's Standard room and connecting !! I have a feeling DD will be complaining about the walk as last time we stayed 60's prefered !! But finances dictated standard and she wanted poolside this time !!!

Your in WDW is there really ANY BAD room!!!

Have a Magical Trip. We'll be there in 21 days :woohoo:

This will be our second time at POP and last year we just requested 1st floor. With 3 kids hauling all that stuff up and down would have been a pain. I guess I don't really understand the "preferred room" thing? Is it just closer to buses/dining? The views are not all that different are they? I really like POP and we are hoping for bounceback for next year. We already have our dates picked out. :yay:

We are at the ASMU suites but I think I would rather stay at Pop. We would have to request connecting rooms. I know they aren't guarenteed. Disney told me they were for our family because we are in the same household with 3 kids. But it still worries me. I like the fact that pop don't share buses. Would you take a chance?

I would take the chance. Think about it, you will have 2 bathrooms instead of just 1, you would have 4 actual beds and not just 1 bed, a sleeper sofa and 2 twin size fold out chairs. You could leave the connecting doors open and it would be like one big suite. That is how we are doing it next year. Plus it's not that much more to do 2 rooms (like $20, total)) instead of one family suite. If you do decide to do the 2 rooms, post about it and let me know how it went. I'm interested in some feedback. Have a fantastic trip!:thumbsup2

It is cheaper to do 2 rooms at pop than a suite. But suite also has 2 bathrooms. I think it is around 200.00 cheaper.

Last night I changed our January plans from CBR to POP. Everything I read here made it sound so wonderful, my DH is like a kid at heart and once he saw the pictures and heard about the resort, wanted to make the change as well.

We can't wait to go, and feel like the vacation is coming quickly.

Now I need to start making plans! Where to eat, what to do!! Oh so much fun. :wizard:

Two rooms are way cheaper than a suite at All stars.
