The GROOVIER New Pop Century FAQ Thread Chapter 3! ~ Posts #1 & #2 are MUST sees!

I thought I would ask this on the POP thread, since different resorts may have different answers. We want to make sure we are in the park, ready to ride, by 9 am every morning. But of course we don't want to wake up any earlier than necessary either! So I am wondering from you other rope droppers on here, what time do you think we need to be at the bus stop to achieve this goal?

Thanks!

I like to arrive at the park gates by 8:30, so I am in the bus line at Pop by 8:00 most mornings.

Oh really, would 8 am be enough time to get us there by 8:30? That's later than I was guessing, which would make me very happy! I'd love to sleep a little later:goodvibes!

if I remember right, we were out of the room by 7:55 to get to the bus stop by 8:00. Maybe you might want to get there a little earlier than that on days you want to go to MK, since it's the furthest park from Pop, but I think by 8:00 for the other parks would be enough time. Even if you have to wait for a bit for a bus to arrive, the other parks are fairly close to Pop so it shouldn't take that long once you're on the bus.

Awesome, thanks!

Now on to my next question (sorry!)...
I am trying to order water from Costco. I read the first post and am trying to do the address like it says, but it's telling me the address as I entered it isn't found. I have my name and arrival date as the name, the reservation # as company, and then Pop Century as address 1, and the street address as address 2. How should I be doing it?

Sorry to be so dense! TIA!

Sorry it was 4463. It didn't feel close and again I don't like even being able to see the lake. It just makes me sad. I'd rather look at a parking lot. If they someday open Legendary Years then a lake view would be cool, but it just is depressing to look at before then.

Aw, that is sad! Gosh, I never thought seeing the lake could be sad, but now I understand for some it could be. We so enjoy a lake view at POP - we find it relaxing...but I also like feeling in the midst of the action, which is why your room would be perfect for us.

I bet you would have enjoyed the room location we had last summer - 4470 - 2 doors from the elevator, directly above the Hippy Dippy Pool and 2 mins at most from Classic Hall. I missed seeing the lake, but it would have been a great location for you!

We did enjoy it for sure though!

We are staying at pop for the first time at the end of september. We are SUPER excited about it! I was wondering about room requests... We are driving so I'm thinking of requesting these three options...
1. Lake view
2. Close to parking lot
3. Ground floor

Is there a room that exist? I was looking at the maps and it looks like building three might meet all of these things. Am I right? If so should I request building three instead of "close to parking lot?"

VERY new to forums so I hope I'm doing this correctly :)

I also wanted to add to the other posters that at 8:45am at MK they do an opening ceremony that is really neat.

I've tried to go to mydisneyreservation.com/guest and after putting in my info on the first screen it tells me that the url provided is incorrect. Anyone having probs doing a room request?

Sorry if this is a repeat question, I'm leaving in 3 days and don't have time to search for the answer so I thought I would ask the experts!

I will need to send a quick email one day while at Disney. What are my options? I will not be bringing a laptop, and I do not have a blackberry etc.
Any advise?

Thanks
Steph

Without a computer. You'll need to go to a resort with a business center. I know Boardwalk and the Grand Floridan have them. I think Beach/Yacht Club has one as well.

:goodvibesCan anyone tell me if the rooms are still in pretty good condition; if they've been refurbed recently or if they're coming up for a refurb soon? I MAY be staying with my sister in September 2010 so we were just wondering.. the last I stayed at Pop was in 2006.. :goodvibes TIA!!!

We just got back from POP last week. The room we stayed in was clean. Mousekeeping was great. I read somewhere they did a refurb in 2008, I thought it was a great value. I would go for it. We are going back again in 2010.:cool1:

How exciting pta-mom! :goodvibes

I'm 3 weeks from my first POP visit ever, I am so excited to see what it's like.

Hi!

We just booked a two-day stay at the resort in October, after our 5-day cruise. I haven't read the thread yet (I will - I promise! I'm just not at home right now), but until then, what are the best things to see/do when we're there? My guess is the kids will want to spend lots of time at the pool, but if we were to walk around and go exploring, what shouldn't we miss?

(We're not going to be at the resort much, just to rest before MNSSHP and hang out a bit the next day inbetween a visit to DTD and whatever else strikes our fancy.)

thanks!
