We did not book preferred. All of the preferred rooms were facing the pool. We requested lakeside (none of which are preferred). The 60's rooms are also close to the classic hall and busses. I will send a fax. I'm still not sure about the online checkin. I would rather check-in with a "live" person, rather than have my papperwork handed to me. I feel that if I check in with a real person I would have a better chance of getting the room I want or at least stating my requests again.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Although preferred rooms no longer face the lake, all of the preferred rooms do not face a pool. Many are on the opposite side of the 60's and/or 50's pool and there is not a pool in the 70's at all.

You are right. The preferred rooms are the ones closest to the classic hall and busses. In the 60's building that I am hoping for, all of those preferred rooms face the pool.

So, I was flipping channels last night on the TV & came across this program featuring all these different Rubic Cube Champions from different parts of the world that were coming together to have a World Champion Contest....guess where the contest was held????? POP!!

It was so wierd watching TV & seeing the giant POP Rubic in the background & some of the hotel grounds & even a room, knowing that in one month, we'll be there!! So funny!

I have no idea how old this program was nor when this Championship was held but does anyone know of it? I wonder if this was a one time thing or if they do it annually? Has anyone ever been at POP & seen this?

Anyway, just thought it was sort of funny!!

YEP, about 12 bucks per day to rent, and it adds up quickly.

Checking in in 4 days! This thread has been invaluable in the planning, but I have one question I couldn't find an answer to. Does anyone know whether guests can send and receive faxes from the hotel (for a fee, of course). I know they don't have a business center, but they obviously have a fax machine (since we all fax in our room requests!); I just wasn't sure whether guests would be able to use it or not. Thanks!

How long should I estimate the travel time by bus to each of the parks? Is an hour reasonable?

So I got an email from Stitchkingdom about refurbs today. It seems that the Computer and Bowling Pin pools may be closed down while we are there (10/25 - 11/1). Not a huge deal to me, but makes me hope we get our request a little bit more. I wonder why they would close 2 of 3 at once?

Thats not true. There are a few that are close to the lake. Look at the map on page one and it will show you where the preferrreds are located.
