The last time at Pop(with no room request made) we were offered an upgrade to a moderate. I didn't take it as we were meeting friends at Pop. I would like to know if I make a room request would that prevent the offer of an upgrade if it was available?

Were you offered the upgrade when you checked in or before leaving for Disney World.

I don't think a room request would change your chances of being offered an upgrade but I personally have no experience with this. :confused3

They offered me the upgrade when we arrived at about 7 or 8pm. It really took me by surprise. We also spent 7 nights at the Contemporary and were upgraded to the tower. I will probably fax in a request about 3 days before the trip.

Just checking in again here as I can't help myself. This time next week, we'll be in the car, on route, for our next trip to WDW, and our first stay at POP!

10 days, 9 nights, free dining, and a place that looks pretty cool to stay. What more could you want out of life? I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Have a great time. I have 44 days til my first stay at POP!! I am already so excited.

On line check-in -vs regular check-in.. We are arriving at POP on Friday and are wondering-should we do online checkin or wait until we arrive?? We plan on arriving early in the morning about 9 am... We have specific building requests and think that going to a CM at the desk gives us our best chance to get the room we desire.. Any suggestions..We are so excited and can't wait to get to WDW for a Magical vacation....:confused3:yay::banana:

Just got back from our first trip to Pop Century and loved it. I took a day just to walk around the resort and take pics of the icons. I will definetly stay there next time. I have been throwing around the idea of buying into the DVC but cant really decide because I like staying at the value resorts but it would also be nice to save money on my trips.

Markjazz, I think if I were you and had the requests that you have that I would check in with a castmember instead of online, but that is just my opinion. We were going to check in online and my sister called and spoke to a castmember and he said that since we had requests that is would not be so easy to do it online.

I would love to see your pictures! We are staying @ Pop for the first time next month.

Can anyone tell if if you are able to decorate your door or window here at POP. We did this well on our cruise and had lots of fun with it. Dose anyone have pics of what they did or can you point me in the right direction?

600 guests checked in to POP yesterday...very busy time. (A friend who checked in on Saturday was told by the CM)

Hope you all have a MAGICAL trip!!

Hi all! I am 32 days out from our trip. We book a preferred room, and I would like to request close to bus stop but not facing the pool. Can yall tell me the best way to do this? Fax or call, and when , I mean how many days out?

Thanks!

Hi,
I have done both ways, I have always sent ahead my requests, (i'm guessing you have already down that., if not, do it right away!) Whether or not you check in online or not you deal directly with a CM. You room has been pre selected whether or not you have done online check in or not. Being you are arriving early morning I would actually recommend you do online check in.

Room requests are easy to add to your reservation. some fax it in but I always just call it in. You are allowed up to three requests for example.

50's building
ground floor
pool view

I have done this at least 6 times and always get most if not all of what I ask for.

there is an area that asks you the earliest possible arrival time. I have found since doing online my room has always been ready for me even before normal check in. I believe they use this time frame to help the room selections.

I wasn't sure if I was happy with my room location or not last trip. My online CM told me to check it out and then come back if I was not happy. They fillled my room request perfectly! Not where I had in mind but they did an even better job than I could have thought of. the only thing the online check in does for you is just save you some time plugging data into their computers. It's saves you about 5 minutes or more on check in. It was well worth it to me. Plus the bonus of my rooms being ready was a big bonus as well.

I arrive in 7 days and I already have my room request attached to my ressie! I did on-line check in because I wanted to be different because so many are afraid to do it or don't want to do it afraid they won't get there requests! But what we all need to remember is that they are just requests and whether we do it online or with a cm we may not get what we want. But I have read many reviews of ppl that did online check in and were very happy they had gotten there requests and rooms were ready early!! I will fax down my request also on the 20th then we'll see what happens on Monday! :goodvibes

Michelle,
I have considered the same thing however I too enjoy the values. It really is all I need! My best friend has the DVC, they love it however she pays close to $1500 a year in maintenance/usage fees. If you enjoy the value resorts I figure I can stay an awful lot of nights in a value for $1500 a year without the outlay of 20k of my own money. DVC is WONDERFUL but you can't take advantage of things like free dining, etc.. IMHO, the value resort fans are the one type of guest that a DVC does not make sense for.
I have crunched the numbers so many times and I always come ahead doing my AP taking advantage of the special deals and staying 10+ nights a year at minimum at a value resort. :goodvibes

I need to attend a conference call while staying at Pop in September. It is an 800 number. Does anyone know if Pop charge for these calls? :confused3

Does the POP phone have mute on it? or speakerphone?

 Last summer I had to attend a conference call, but used my cell. Disney does charge for 800 numbers (cannot now recall how much, but it is a one time charge)...unfortunately, cannot remember if it has a mute button or speaker phone.

Maybe someone else will know more. Sorry, not much help!

Hello everyone!! I just got back from my very first stay at Pop on Saturday. My dbf and I went and we loved Pop!!! :lovestruc We literally walked out of Classic Hall and stared. It was such a nice resort!! So cute and very Disney!! We would definitely stay there again! If you guys have any questions I'll be happy to try and answer them for you!!

What does Disney supply in the way of toiletries to rooms in the value resorts?

Do you only get a starter pack at the beginning of your stay or are they restocked/replensihed every day?

Many thanks.
