Ha! I had to laugh about this.... the morning we left for Disney, we had to be up around 4:45am to get ready and get to the airport... Well guess what time we work up at... 1:30 am!! (both myself and my BF!)

We tried our hardest to get back to sleep and just couldn't! So we got up, got ready, and then watched TV while we waited for our ride to the airport! :rotfl2:

Ack! That's how i always am. I usually take a dose of nyquil just to get to sleep, I'm so excited.:faint:

I'm exactly the same way. Except I take something (usually Tylenol PM or Ambien) and then it knocks me out, but then I do exactly like Tamdude and wake up at like 2am and just can't fall back asleep!

This trip is going to be doubly stressful because I'm flying home for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party that weekend. I'll fly out Friday night, be there for the party Saturday night (and spend all day setting up for it), fly home Sunday afternoon and then fly out again early Monday morning for Disney. And did I mention I hate flying?!:rotfl:

I just ordered my pictures from walmart.com for 9 cents a pic! I chose the home delivery method, but it's a little more pricey if you opt to pick them up at the store (maybe 15 cents?). Shipping was around $13, but I don't think that's too bad for how many pictures I ordered!

:woohoo: Lucky you!! :woohoo:

...I LOVE POP Christmas decorations. We were back at the Poly in 2007, after 4 POP Dec stays. We were laughing b/c we love Poly and the decorations were beautifull, but we had to go over POP to see the decorations... I even have a screen-saver with POP Christmas photos. :thumbsup2

Happy Planning!! :goodvibes

Ooh, we're going to be at Pop during the holidays. I can't wait!

You're so going to love it!! :goodvibes And you're right, it seems a bunch of us will be there in December! I'm going to have a big lime-green Mickey head on our door with a pen for signing it. Feel free to leave a note if you walk past! :)
We live in Pearland too! Looks like we'll be there at the same time. We'll be there Dec 1-5 and Dec 12-17. What a neat idea about the signing. I'll leave a quick note if is I see it. I'll have my LGMH on my stoller.

My sister has always stayed at POP and this year she decided to stay at CBR, she loved the hotel but said that she would never again pay the difference in price to stay at a CBR over POP
I agree with your sis, not about specifics but categories. We've stayed at All Star Movies and Sports and Port Orleans Riverside. POR was nice, but it's not worth 50% more. If I can't afford deluxe or don't plan on staying on points, it's value for me. Can't justify spending so much more for a moderate.

This will be my first trip to Pop. Any help I can get will be great. I will be traveling by myself with 2 kids under 10.
I'll be alone with 2 kids (10, 3) during one leg of my trip. I went w/o DH when they were 8 and 1 and although my BFF was there, I was many times on the bus myself. I guess the best advice I can give is don't be afraid to accept help. I can't believe how many people carried my stroller on/off the bus for me. I never asked, but even before I had chance many times to pick up my stroller, people were helping me. I would never allow anyone to help me to my room (not that anyone asked), but on/off the bus didn't bother me and was much appreciated. Don't know if you'll have a stroller or not, but that part can be a pain w/o help

Could someone please tell me what the weather will be like...Rain? Hot? Crowd level? anything else to help me get ready.
We were at WDW last year Sept 27-Oct 4.
Rain - I don't think it rained a drop on us. It was cloudy one night with a chance, but it didn't rain
Hot? - It's warm but since I live in a hot climate, I'll take warm! For some people though, they may consider it hot. It was pleasant to me.
Crowds - GREAT! A bit crowded on the weekends but not bad. Weekday crowds were wonderful. We were walking on Everest over and over during the week and walking on Pirates on the weekends.

I have a question regarding the portable crib you can request at POP. I have a 1 year old and am wondering if I should bring my own or request theirs. For those of you who have used POP's crib/play pen, should I bring my own or use theirs? Is it comfortable? Do they provide a sheet? Does anyone have a pic of one? Thanks for you help! :goodvibes

I have brought my own from home but didn't use it. I ended up using Disney's since ours was packed still in the van (we went to the keys for a week so that was our main purpose of having it.) I had no issues with the one at POP except that the sheet that they give you is not tightly placed on. It's actually very loose and easy for a young baby to grab the sheet and pull and have it go on their head or something. If you look at the picture you can see the wrinkles at the top and on the left hand side. If for some reason you wanted to use the portable crib without the sheet I would wash down "really good" the sleeping mat. I also sprayed Lysol on it to try and kill any bugs or germs and then went out for the day and about 10 hours later she used it. If your very over protective I would wash the sheet also yourself and take a Lysol wipe and wipe the whole top edge and then let it dry before putting the child in.

She has use one for 3 trips now and we have never had an issue. Also I put ours between the 2 beds. Then if she needed me I was right there without getting up.

I hope that this helps you abit.

Thanks! We will most likely just use theirs as we will be taking so much other stuff - suitcases, stroller, small refrigerator, etc. I'm sure the van will be over flowing.

Your daughter is so cute! :goodvibes

To solve the loose-sheet issue - you can bring your own. The crib is a standard pack-n-play, and you can get sheets at any baby store - I think I got mine at Babies R us for around $10. That way you know it is clean, and they tend to fit pretty well.

Another option is the little elastic straps that are designed to keep sheets in place. They are often on an end-cap at walmart near the bedding, usually in a 4 pack. They strap to the corners of the sheet under the mattress, keeping the sheet on the bed. They are cheap and work great in my experience.

This may have been asked on here before, but is the 50's lakeview 4th floor the only place to see the fireworks? I want to be able to see them, but I don't know about getting a 3 year old and 1 year old up that many stairs! They're either really slow (trying to walk themselves) or really heavy!!:rotfl:

Oh what a sweetie!

Thank you so much!

You sound like us. I'll have to see if I can find the picture of our van. OMGosh it was sooooooo packed. I was debating on to stop at a Wal-Mart and pick up a roof rack because of all of it.

Also thank you for the comment on Kendyll. I'm sure you will do just fine with the POP pack and play with your child. Have a safe and fun trip!!

Yeah I also use these too. I never used them on the first trip for Kendyll (the pictures were from her 1st trip) since I didn't know about the sheets back then, but I do use them now for her. I think they are about $3.00 - $4.00. Somewhere around there.

Overall it's a wonder that they even give you a sheet because if you actaully read the instructions to MOST pack and plays it's states not to use a sheet at all. This is to prevent death.

Don't worry about the stairs - the elevators at POP are great. Fast, no waiting, smooth, not scary at all. They do tend to get a little hot inside, but the ride is over so fast it doesn't bother us.

I prefer a higher floor, because of the quiet. Nobody above you to make noise.

I have question regarding buying milk at Pop. Do they sell somewhere a 1/2 gallon milk? I will have a almost 2 year old with me who still drinks a lot of milk. If they do, does anyone know the price of it? Thanks so much.

Last I heard, they did still sell half gallons for $2.99, over in the food court coolers from what I remember.

Babies R us have pack and paly sheets for sale. We have 3 sets of them. So you could jsut buy 1 or 2 and bring them along with you.

They have elevators there.

Diana, POP is kind of pretty during the holidays - homey old fashioned kind of decorations. I have a link with some photos - will find it and post.

Disapoolaza (sp?) (there is a thread on the Podcast board)is kind of a DIS gathering around the same time MF would have been going on. Some other Disney communities will be having Meets and so on. I had tje same code and am holding POP around the same dates as these Meets.

Off to find that link..

Good job on the pin! :thumbsup2 I'll be at Disapalooza or DAP. There's tons of threads about it on the DisUnplugged Forum. There's a sticky at the top of that forum with a message from John. It runs Dec. 11 to 13th with the main event on the 12th.

I stayed at Pop in Dec. '07. Loved it. Loved shopping. ::yes::

Thanks so much. I am hoping to find a swap fridge but so far haven't had any luck. Just may have to get one.

Do they give you a blanket for the pack n play or should I bring my own?
