Welcome to the Pop thread. It does take a long time to read and this is the second thread. I started reading the old thread when it was up to 200 something pages. It took days. Congrats for making it this far.

This is the third thread. The first one was REALLY long, but didn't have the info compiled on the first page like Buckeye girl did for us! ;)

I'm kind of glad that I missed that one then because thread two was :faint:

We're headed to POP very soon :lovestruc and this thread is sure gettin' me in the mood for some fun! Can't wait to be back there!!! :upsidedow

We are on our way to Pop Century AGAIN. It is great for the value. We like it a lot. As much as you should be in your room, they are not as small as you think. We had four adults and a baby in one a while back and we had plenty of room.

does anyone know how much the mugs are?? do they still have the two sizes?? :)

My OCPD is really kicking in already and I just know I'm gonna drive people nuts with my planning questions!!!

I love the phrase OCPD!!! Now I know what to tell my boyfriend my disease is called!! (I'm driving him nuts with my planning:) ) I just had to tell you CJLKIM I love it!

For those of you who have used Magical Express how long did it generally take to get from the airport to Pop Century? Was Pop Century the first stop on the way there? I was just wondering so I can figure out approx. what time we will be getting to our resort. Also how long did it take them to bring your baggage to the room. Did anyone's luggage get there like the next day. That would not be good for us since I'm not planning on bringing clothes in our carryons. I'm debating whether or not to just pick up our own luggage and bring it with us or let disney bring it to our room. Thanks for the help!

we have taken ME to Pop Century twice...the most recent trip, we were in our actual room one hour after landing in MCO! I couldn't believe how fast it was! We landed at 10:00 AM, went straight to the ME check in desk, no line, then straight on to the bus. We sat for 5 minutes or so and then left for Pop. We were the first stop. Got off the bus, went straight to check in, again no line, got checked in and our room was ready! We went to the room to drop our carry on bags at 11:00 AM!

On our other trip, it was just about the same in getting to Pop (I would say 45 minutes) but the line for check in was crazy long. This time we arrived at Pop later in the day, I guess around 5:00 or so.

Our luggage arrived both times while we were out of the room, so I'm not really sure how long that took, but not the next day in either case. HTH!

The average time is about 70 minutes, assuming you let ME take care of your luggage. It will take longer if you get your own luggage.

Your luggage should arrive in your room about 3 hours after you check in.

If you do get your own luggage, you will need to tip the ME driver.

I have to warn you about not packing clothes in your carryons. There is always a possibility that the airline will misdirect your luggage and it will take some time to get it back. You should always pack everything you need for the first 24 hours in your carryon.

We were told it was going to be a 40 minute ride, it was much less than that.

I saw some posts about helium balloons being needed in the rooms to keep the thermo at a certain temp. We had no need for a balloon. Our thermostat stayed where we put it.

My only complaint about POP is the thin walls and noisy neighbors.

Thank you for everyone's help. I think we will just let ME take care of our luggage, either way though I'm planning on tipping the driver, my parents always did and I had already planned for that, I know it's not necessary but it's a little extra for the driver. I'm glad to hear that Pop is the first stop it def. helps with our plans. Thank you again for the quick responses.:thanks:

Pop is NOT always the first stop, but more times than not it is. We used it last year and an hour from the moment we landed we were in our room.
I agree, always bring one change of clothes for everyone in the carryon. You just never know.

Disney OCPD is the best kind to have! I came down with it so hard that I ended up having a 2nd cruise booked before I even sailed on our first one! It's a good thing that there's so much to do at Disney because I can feed my OCPD for YEARS AND YEARS to come!!!

I also love the term OCPD!! I wonder if the shrinks have added it to their list of diagnosis:rotfl2:
I also agree about packing a change of clothesin your carryon!!:thumbsup2

Having a change of clothes handy in a carry-on is always a good idea when you're gonna be separated from your luggage for ANY amount of time. DH's bag got separated from ours on the ship and we were getting really nervous come dinner time. Luckily it showed up 15 minutes before dinner started so he could hurry and change.

I won't let THAT happen again!!!

My sister and I and our families are going to be at Pop at the end of May for 7 days. We won both rooms through the Lastminute travel promotion. Does anyone have any idea what the chances are that we would be able to get connecting rooms. We've gotten Disney confirmation numbers from LastMinuteTravel, but were told that Disney will not have our name until closer to our arrival.

Any ideas on what to do to request connecting rooms? Are a lot of the rooms at POP connecting? The reservations are for "preferred room" but I don't really care which building we're in, I'd take a standard room if we could get connecting. I read through a lot of this thread (which is full of great info by the way) but I didn't see much on connecting rooms, so forgive me if it's right in front of me somewhere and I am missing it.

Thanks!
