Hopefully this is the right section to ask this, but we'll be at the POP 11/29-12/4 and will be eating at the GF twice. What's the best way to travel to get there? We won't have a rental car.

I would make sure you bring your voucher anyways because they would not have given me mine with out it. The gentleman at the counter said he did not see the note. So I had to prove I was suppose to get one by the voucher I had. They also did not see I was suppose to have a double bed room, pack and play and bed rails. The gentleman who checked me in seemed a little new and confused though too because he was misreading all the check in information like who was staying. Very confused. The others checking people in did not seem to be having such problems so maybe it was just a one in a million thing. :)

What she was saying thoough is that most are NOT even getting vouchers. So there isn;t anything to bring. It's just noted on their paperwork. My guess is maybe they started out with vouchers for the early travelers of the deal and had to either work the bugs out or decided that just noting it on the paper work was enough, and now no longer do the vouchers. Just my guess.
I hopefully will get my paperwork in the next 2 weeks, so I'll see what I get, but my bet is no voucher.

look on the first page of the thread. There is a link to a calculator that tells you how long it takes to get from one point to another and different ways to do it.
But to go to GF from pop, take the buss to MK and then the boat over to GF. You can then take the monrail back to GF and bus back to pop.

I just had to share with the group.......I'm sitting here at my desk at work looking out the window.......and there's snow.....and there is expected to be more and more snow during the day and overnight tonight.....15 to 24 inches of the darn stuff is expected.......!!!! :scared: I just wish I was still at Disney World with the "snow" they produced during MVMCP!!!! I can deal with that snow! Can't wait to go back in 2010!!!!! :beach:

Ok, thanks for listening to my rant......

The most direct way would be to take the MK bus then transfer to the resort monorail or GF ferry boat.

That said, if the MK buses are very packed for whatever reason, you can take a bus to any of the other parks (Epcot, DHS or AK) and transfer to a GF bus.

Does anyone here think that staying at POP for 7 nights is too much? I spent 3 nights there last May - alone and thought to myself this would be ok for a couple of nights with my kids but I just don't know about 7 nights.

In August my family was there for 1 night only and we had 2 rooms. Not really a good amount of time to get the feel for the space so I am wondering as my 3 kids and I are going again this May for the 4/3 deal. My sisters family is also coming along - all 11 of them. So 3 rooms at POP is economical for my sister's brood.

I can't help but want to upgrade for better pools, fridge in room and more space.

Tell me it will be ok at POP for 7 nights. I am just not excited about staying there.

TIA!

We have seven kids and were in 2 rooms at Pop. (one was under 3 at the time.) 1 or 2 would sleep over at Grandma's room, but even when we had 6 kids between the two rooms we were ok.

We have never stayed at any nicer hotels than Pop with our kids, so I guess we don't know what we are missing. But, if staying at Pop gets me to WDW, I'm good. LOL

We only really sleep, and nap there, so no need for more space.

It's what you make of it, I guess.

Happy planning! pixiedust:

Glad I found this thread! Love all the pictures! We have extended my son's wish trip with the 4/3 deal and are staying at Pop our second week. We have a standard room booked and as much as I'd love a quiet, lakeview room, I know our kids will want to be among the action. Since this trip is for the kids...I've narrowed my preferences to the 50's area, poolview. But help me decide...I'm obsessing over what to request...is there poolview rooms that are better views that others? Any specific rooms to request in that area? And I can't decide if 4th floor or ground level is best? I like ground level for the convenience (we have a stroller), but do you get as nice a view as from the 4th floor? Would love to hear some opinions!

Hi, Nichole!

We really enjoyed our room in the 50's Jukebox building (2) 4th fl, overlooking the pool. It was pretty, but little noise from the pool and no one above us.

One visit we had a room overlooking the pool in building 3, 2nd floor, but liked bldg 2 better. We could see the tops of palm trees and if we walked to the end of the building, could watch the top of Illuminations when we had an early evening.

We've also had lakeside rooms in blg 3 which were wonderful, as well as a room in the 60's, 4th fl, facing the Hippy Dippy Pool - we still liked blg 2 pool view best. ::yes:: We've never had a problem with the elevators. :)

You'll read lots of reviews from guests who LOVED their first floor rooms, but we've seen a rat twice at POP (as well when staying at Poly, CBR and POR) very close to the first floor rooms, so we prefer the 4th floor. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful Wish trip. I hope they go above and beyond to meet your room location request.

Blessings on your family! :goodvibes

I'm a first floor preferer. LOL! last year we were poolside and loved it, but I do know it's not for everyone, though we didn,t have noise issues at all.

Last year I was in the 50's building room 3111 it was a ground level, facing the pool and loved it. I smoke so it was really nice to come out of my room go right around the corner and there was the lake. Loved it.

But there is one down fall being on the ground level, Every morning I was woken to people above me taking showers. I am not a morning person.

Also some one was talking about how the crowds are in Dec. If you read my TR from Dec 2-7 last year it was great. Yes there was allot of people staying at the Pop, but when you get to the parks it was wonderful. I think the longest wait for a ride was 80 mins and that was for test track. Next time I go I will for sure use the single line.

Here in Dayton, Ohio we have had tons of snow also, yesterday I think every place was closed because of Ice and snow. It sure has made me read my WDW 2009 book and day dream of my next trip. Plus I have been busy looking at different cruise to take my mom on one to Alaska or some where warm, She and I have never been on a cruise and we want to do it Next year.

Bottom line is for the ones going the first 2 1/2 weeks in December it is wonderful, but make sure you pack sweat shirts and jackets. I only got to wear my jean shorts one day and that was just for a couple of hours.

Happy planning.

I was there 12/7-14th this past December and the crowds were pretty good. But I will tell you, the CM's kept commenting about how crowded it was and how they've never seen it so crowded this time of year before. We didn't find it too bad at all, Monday was the busiest for some reason but the rest of the week was fine, although a couple of ressies we had for places were long waits, even though we did have the ressie. But I would go again just for the extra magic of it all....read my TR below to find out!!:goodvibes

Obviously I am a spoiled! We were their Dec 6-14 and I thought it was too crowed! Previously we had been during Jan& Feb and were not used to waiting in line at all! While I loved the holiday decorations, we will never go at that time again!

LOL! I think a wait time for test track of 80 minutes is absolutely horrid. LOL!
I am impatient too, so when we wait more than 30 minutes for anything, I'm having a fit.

I'm with you! We're spoiled. We've been going for so many years, walking on attractions so often, that waiting for more than 15 mins is out of the question. ;) Now that slow seasons have changed it is a bit more of a challenge to find slower times, but so far, so good! :thumbsup2

Oh my! I've seen waits for Test Track and Soarin' as well as other popular attractions be over 120 minutes by mid morning. This is during the last week of May and first week of June. Well, as a matter of fact, they were that long during our second week of August trip too.

I've seen TT, Soarin' , Splash, Space go for 120 min ! But we usually go during the summer.

So do those of you arriving next week and into the following week think we have a decent chance at not-too-horrid crowds ? I'll be there Feb 5-11 & I'm hoping I made the right choice.

I specifically chose this week over the Feb 13-18 time period because of Valentines Day and President's week.

Maria
