Are the refillable cups worth the money? Some are saying yes, some no

I agree that it depends on you. I could definitely see that it wouldn't be worth it at a deluxe or even the moderates but at Pop the bus is very close to the food court.

It was worth it for me. I filled it with apple juice in the morning and drank it while I grabbed a quick breakfast. Then I rinsed it out at their "washing station" and refilled it with my diet Coke. I drank that while waiting for the bus and it usually was gone by the time I entered the park. (which doesn't matter anyways)

I had a large carbiner clip that I hooked on on my purse to hold the empty cup. I didn't get back to the resorts until late but I would stop in and get a hot chocolate or apple juice to take back to my room. I did have dinner twice at Pop and so of course used my cup for another diet coke. Then when I get home, I have a souvineer. I filled it up about 22-25 times over a 7 day trip.

I agree with PP, it was worth it to us....I drink diet coke like crazy (it's my coffee!!), so I would grab a cup at breakfast, one heading to the bus stop and then on the way back through at night....sometimes twice! It's $2 a pop on the park so I would get my fill in before and after my day!! And now I drink from it daily at home, it's a nice souvie!!!:goodvibes

I can't even imagine what person WOULD'NT bring along a voucher on the trip. I eman doesn't everyone bring along ALL the paperwork you get sent? I sure do.

As for mugs, yes we love them. We didn;t do them in 2007 and it was no loss, I must say, but we drank less too. Just becuase we didn't want to go buy a drink for the most part. Last year we got them and I would have 2 or 3 before we ever went the the parks. And we were on the dining too, so we got drinks with every meal, but most of those were at the parks. I too, filled mine up before heading off to the parks, and took it along. But we have a stroller in tow, so just put them in there when we are done.

If your trip is short it might not be worht it either. Last year we were there 5 nights, this year 6. DD and DH tend to sleep in as well when we are on vacation, while I tend to get up way too early, so I walk around, snap picutres, drink a few cups of juice or pop, maybe do laundry, and so I have some extra time to drink more too. Maybe if I was up early and off to the parks immediately and not coming back till closing each night, then I would rethink it, but so far it worked really good for us.

For anyone who has been there recently, do they have caffeine diet coke? I know in the past they had it, and last year on my March trip I looked and looked and couldn;t find any, but I thought I heard it is back again.

OK, I called WDW today and they told me that I would receive my $200 gift card at check in. I did not need a voucher. Why do we all have something different?? I am going to just trust what that gentleman told me and wait till checkin! :crazy2:

Bring. the. voucher.

I thought I answered you in a post a page or so ago, maybe not?

Yes you can use a blow up matress. They really don't care where you sleep as long as you don;t have more than 4 people in your room. Most ay the blowup won;t fit between the beds, but by the window, I think is where it fits better. You still should pick it up on it's end each day as there won;t be much room with it down.

So what do you do with the voucher then? Do you take it to the gift shop and have it turned into a card then. The more I think about it, I think that might've been what I did with the AAA thing.

Thank you!! Didn't see the last post if you did, sorry about that. Do you know if I can ask for extra linens for the room so I do not need to pack them? Thanks again!!:goodvibes

OK, I have booked a preferred room at Pop for my first solo trip to WDW in March. Should I make any requests for preferred rooms or will any preferred be fine? Thank you for a fantastic thread!

We've always purchased the mugs because even at $14 they are a great souvenir. I use either my Contemporary or Poly mug every single day. At the parks, we've gone in the heat of summer and drank a lot to try to stay hydrated or in the cold winter and really enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate. We definitely get our money's worth from the mugs, but it is a personal call I suppose.

My booklet didnt have a voucher for the $200. It says we will get it on arrival when we get our room keys/park tickets. I always bring all of my paperwork/booklet info anyway, but there isn't a "voucher" for the giftcard. They did include an arcade card for 30 minutes. My boys will like that a lot!

I did my first solo last year and got standard room and a doing the same this May! The prefered are al close to the foodcourt /buses so I would ask for which floor you prefer and poolside or not !!

I booked and paid for a preferred room for our anniversary trip in Sept. 2007. However, the room we received in the 60's building was about as far away from everything as absolutely possible and still be considered preferred. We were far away from the elevator, pool, food court & buses. We weren't happy at all. Plus our overall trip was very unmagical due to alot of things that occurred there at POP during our stay. I contacted WDW CRO upon our return (nothing could be done at the time as the resort was maxed out.) and received a great reply and restitution after speaking to them.

I've gone back one more time since then with a group of friends and booked standard which was fine for us. We were only there one night, but DH & I won't go back to POP again ...... we prefer ASMu as it's much smaller and quieter than POP. JMHO.....................:crowded:

This thread is INCREDIBLE!!!!! Thanks so much for all the great info! We're staying at Pop March 7-14th, I'm sooooo excited! :) :) :)

I find the comment that ASMu is smaller than POP. We stayed there once after staying at POP several times and found the walk from the back of ASMu to be MUCH further than the furthest point at POP. We'll never stay there again as it took forever to walk to the main area.

POP wins hands down IMO every time!

Ditto that! I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else! All of the locations at POP are great, it's just a matter of picking the decade that you want. (For us anyway!) We love the 80's!!! :thumbsup2

I also prefer POP and have stayed at all the AS's. I am a little suprised that you stayed in the 60's and found it far from everything though ? That is a pretty centrally located section. But I'm not going to doubt how you felt about it because it was your experience. I do love POP, but I cannot say as a previous poster stated that all the locations are great. It's there I disagree. We've had the far 80's and 90's and felt very far from everything compared to the other sections. But then again, that's just us. I'll be at POP next week !

We'll be there next week, too!

Personally, I really do think all the locations are great! Then again, my DH and I enjoy walking around, so that may have something to do with it. lol To us none of the buildings are all that far from Classic Hall or the bus stops. Especially when you get to hop around on the giant keyboard every morning on the way to the bus! :goodvibes

I respect your feelings on all the locations at POP DisneyDork---just don't share them and that is cool. I hope we both have a great visit to POP next week ! I don't check in until Feb 6.....but I'll be there until the 11th. Can't wait !

To the above posters. I.do.not.have.a.voucher!!! That was my problem! I was afraid that I was not going to get my $200 gift card because on another thread he said do not forget the voucher because you will not get your $. I just paniced and now I am OK that I do not have a voucher and confident that I will get it at check-in! Thankyou everyone for listening to my babble, I am OK now!:thumbsup2

We just got back from the POP, and they didn't ask for the voucher for the $200 gift card, so you have no worries.
