Last August, we were able to swim much later than these times, albeit without lifeguards. We were in the Hippie Dippy pool as late as 2:00 a.m.

I have to commt on some of the posts !! I to love Pop! When visitng other resorts I noticed how spread out they are I love the closeness at Pop!! I likealking out of my room and being close to the pools and the foodcourt etc I don't want to catch an elevator to get to lobby to get to the outside to walk all over to get to a pool etc !! Te busestoo at Pop are the best !! Apart from it being the furthest stop at the parks they are awwesome !! I too waited over 40 minutes at one of the other resorts I had gone too en route betwen parks !!I missed Spectro due to it !!! This time next week I will be at POP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back (5/7)from our families first visit to POP and LOVED it! I have stayed at all levels in WDW and truely would stay again at POP. Everything from the bus waits(longest 10 minutes), food court food(YUM) and the room location. I did not like ASM -we stayed in the Jazz building and were not thrilled at all. So I really didn't know how POP would turn out.
We did request to be in the 80's because of the quieter pool. When we checked in early (1pm) our room was ready and they had put us in the 90's. We had room # 8168 and it was great, no late night foot trafic because you wouldn't really walk by it unless you were going directly to one of the rooms around it. People stuck more to the main paths I think. Also we were very close to the pool and a quick short cut throught the parking lot to the buses. The room noise from others was quiet, mabey a flushing toilet in early am. There was nightlights on the hairdriers so I didn't need my own. I thought for my family of 3 we had enough space for our clothes and gear. The room was clean, we did have maid service a couple of days(I keep the room pretty neat)and the maid left my son a cute bunny made out of towlels and washcloths. Also she gave him a washcloth pillow sewed w/ black lace and w/ Mickey stickers all over it. It was the biggest thing I saw in peoples windows from the maids! We had fun making our potato head part of the window decor too! I put my Home Depot Lime Green paint chips on the sill too!
It was just a great stay, thanks to these Boards and all the info I got and every person I met I did bring up the DisBoards to let them know all the free tips there are.

After a wonderful week at POP...despite me asking for a room near the baby pool, getting it then they go dig it up and its closed all week!!!!!! didnt I tell ya I have no luck with rooms...we had to laugh the first day we were like alrightttt finally a pretty view..the next day all hell broke loose with jackhammers and dust. Pop is such a wonderful place..oh and for those of you who I told the story to...I got my silver dubloon!! yay

Yes, Pacman is the 80s, I think that's when it came out? (Before my time).

Also, the paint chips are indeed to let other Disers know you're there. You can put them on your bag, make a shirt, put them on your door/window, etc.

I think technically you're not supposed to be in the pools past midnight though.

Both of the 80's buildings had the pacman and ghosts. Last time I put the Lime Green Mickey Heads on our stroller, this time the windows, and yes to let others know I was on the boards.

on a gross note...check out what happened on my TR at POP one night I went for hot chocolate...eww
and yes when we left Friday there was a giant roped off hole where the baby pool was...hubby thinks they must be re doing all the pipes or something...it will probably be back but im guessing not for a while. They should have told guests though. That was one of the reasons we chose POP..still it didnt ruin our vacation...I still might drop them an email anyhow telling them how bummed I was. Everything else was so good though they outweighed the baby pool...we are sooo hooked on POP now..we cant wait to go back, I wouldnt even consider anywhere else in Disney now. Oh and I did complain about no frozen cokes...they said they have had a lot of people complain but dont think they will be back...they didnt work half the time as people were not giving the machine time to freeze the drinks by overuse thus causing them to need fixed a lot. I told them how to fix that...start charging for them...they just laughed nicely...oh well.

Last year, my family and my best friend and her family went to WDW together and stayed at Pop. DD and her BFF, Jaedin, my BFF's DD, did BBB together. They were so exited and both got the fairytale princess makeover. Jaedin lost her beloved crown. I don't know if she lost it in one of the parks or they misplaced it in the room or what but it has never been found
This little crown meant alot to Jaedin and held a good memory for her. Her 7th birthday is coming up in 3 weeks and we'd like to be able to replace that crown for her. I know last year they had some of the crowns in the gift shop at Pop. I know they didn't cost that much, less than $15. Is there any way someone could pick one up for me and I'll send you the money for it? We're not going back to WDW until 2010 and I've looked on Ebay and can't find another one. It is small with white and pink rhinestones, looks like this:

Im back!!!!!!!! I cant say enough about it...its in a different class to the all stars...the pools, the cms, the food court/food, the beautiful gardens, mousekeeping (4 towel animals!!!)...everything was wonderful. We didnt want to come home...oh and for those of you who I told the story to...I got my silver dubloon!! yay

Bummer about the baby pool being torn out during your stay.
But congrats on your silver doubloon! I remember reading that awhile ago, so I'm glad you fulfilled that request--on my way to check out the details via your trip report!

I've seen very similar ones at Walmart. Also check out places like Claire's or Icings in a local Mall. They usually have them too. They are a bit different, but very similar.

We will be there a month from yesterday and I know that we will be wanting to take our DS2 into the baby pool, not just the bigger pool.

Since you have a picture to describe it from, you could call the WDW Mdse line and order it from them. Let them know you got it at the BBB. The number is 407 363-6200.

OMG!! Please say it ain't so! I have been away from the boards a bit after my December trip but am back now for my August trip and had not heard that the frozen cokes were gone!!! I LOVE these and enjoyed them very much during my last 2 trips! I am very disappointed to hear this!! Sure there were times they were not froze enough to dispense but I would just go back later! UGH! I don't like it!!

I had a quick question. I was looking at staying here from june 8-12th since it is a value resort. Is this a good resort to stay at for people without kids? I'm 23 & my other traveler is 29!
