The Great Movie Ride

Could anyone tell me if The Great Movie Ride at Disney Studios is something that would be scary for a 5 year old? I haven't been on it in ages, so I don't remember much. Any info would be appreciated, thanks so much.

There is really only one part that might be real scary to a 5 year old and that would be the section of Alien where the creature comes down from the ceiling and sort of slimes all over the place. Other than that and possibly the part where the ride is taken over by the bad guys it shouldn't be a problem. Most is just fun, like the Wizard of Oz.

The witch from from the Wizard of Oz might be also. The parts where the driver is left and the bad guy takes over the car may scare some kids also.

My 5 year old was only scared during the part where the gangster/robber takes over the car, but I kept telling him it was Disney and that meant that no one was really in danger, it was just all in fun and he was fine...He actually loves the ride itself...

Oh and the Aliens part creeped him out a tiny bit as well! LOL

Our ds was 3.5 last trip. The only part of the ride that really bothered him was when the "bad guys" took over. They also shoot a pop gun in that part, and he doesn't like loud noises. It didn't scare him all that bad--he was just a little nervous until we explained to him that it was all pretend. Plus, I covered his ears before the pop gun thing! Other than that part, he loved the ride!

The Great Movie Ride is currently closed for refurbishment and will reopen in late June. The inside and outside are being cleaned and repainted, and the script may be slightly different.
