It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a superior cartoon to A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Discuss! (And vote.)

I like the Great Pumpkin show, but love the Christmas one even more.

For the dancing scene alone, the Christmas special wins out. :thumbsup2

The part where Linus recites the story of the true meaning of Christmas always makes me cry.

As someone who remembers the debut showing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas", I can truly say it pulls my heartstrings every single year. Plus, we never had a shiny aluminum Christmas tree, even painted pink.

I just realized that in the Thanksgiving special, Woodstock eats turkey.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is by far, better then the other 2 listed.

At work our office christmas tree is commonly referred to as the Charlie brown Christmas Tree

Mal, Mal, Mal. You are so misguided, my friend.

Think about it...Linus using his blanket as a shepherd's costume saying, "Behold, I bring you tidings of great joy," Charlie Brown rescuing a poor little Christmas tree, and, as MomofKatie so astutely pointed out--the DANCING!! I mean, come on, I recreate all the dances for dd every year.

Charlie Brown Christmas all the way!

That is pretty creepy with Woodstock eating turkey, though.

How do you compare greatness to greatness? You can't. In my world all Charlie Brown cartoons are created equal:goodvibes

We love all the Charlie Brown cartoons, but the Christmas one is just so perfect. The scraggly little tree made beautiful with a little love, Linus reciting the Christmas Story, and yes, the music! :cloud9: We decorate our tree every year to the soundtrack! :goodvibes It's just so....happy!

For the dancing scene alone, the Christmas special wins out. :thumbsup2

 We always get a kick out of those 2 little twin girls with the stringy hair.

I also like the ending when they sing and every time they take a breath more dirt falls of off Pigpen. Ahhhh I can't wait for it to be on TV!

Though I do like the Halloween one too.

Oh, I should also add I just got a stuffed Charlie Brown from a Hallmark store. It even recites a line from the show! :rotfl:

My vote goes to Charlie Brown Christmas! "Lights, please..."

It's got to be the Christmas one..I mean Snoopy pretending to be a penguin makes me laugh everytime.

The Christmas one is the best - I love the fact that Linus quotes the Bible story, the dancing, the dog germs, the tree. There were several things I didn't understand as a child - I didn't know what real estate was, or the big syndicate Lucy mentioned. I do love the Halloween one as well, but it's in second place. I never really cared much for the Thanksgiving one.

I love listening to the soundtrack of "Charlie Brown Christmas".

"Auugh! I've been kissed by a dog! I have dog germs! Get some hot water! Get some disinfectant! Get some iodine!"

I love how wise Linus is.:goodvibes

A Charlie Brown Christmas. I love the halloween one but I never understood no matter how much bad luck one kid has who gives kids rocks for trick or treating.:confused3

Charlie Brown Christmas is the, along with the Grinch, the classic holiday TV show. The Charlie Brown Halloween is amongst the greats. The Thanksgiving one was mediocre. I have no idea who Steven Colbert is or what he has to do with holiday specials.
