We had decided that we were going to sleep in instead of catch the morning EMH at Animal Kingdom. With DD5 feeling bad, we didnt want to push it.
Well, about 8:30 am, I get a face full of sunshine. DD5 was trying to open the curtains to wake us up. I jumped out of bed, grabbed the theremometer!
99.3....yes...its going done!
I give her some more childern's motrin and set out the girls clothes for that day. I then proceed to hop in the shower to fully wake up my behind...it still was dragging at that point.
DH takes his shower while I am getting dressed.
Finally, we are ready to hit the road. We head to 'everything Pop' for breakfast...I get my chocolate croissant again...that thing is heavenly! DD5 gets a bagel and DD8 gets a apple danish. Dh got a chocolate muffin. I have a taste....yummy!
DD5 in her new hat and glasses.
DD8 and her new hat!
Dh stuffing his mouth with that chocolate muffin!
The tree of life
We get to the Animal Kingdom and head over to the Safari to get fastpasses....
You should have seen the line for the fastpasses! DH jumps in the fastpass line and I take the girls to the bathroom. We all meet back up and there is a group of dancers that we go over to watch...I love watching the African dancers. Our fastpasses are not until 4:20pm
Oh well, sleeping in was worth it.
We head over to the walking trails to see the animals. Half way through the trail, my phone is ringing.
I didnt answer it in time...so I checked my voicemail....I actually had two....one from an hour earlier and then the one I just missed......both were from my sister-in-law....DH's aunt was being rushed to the hospital.....I called her back and found I quiet spot to take the call.....She was was in tears when she answered........his aunt had passed.
You have got to be kidding me!!!
DH's aunt had a brain tumor that was removed about a month ago. She was doing fairly well...but that morning she just stopped breathing but the doctors said that there still was a chance because her heart still sounded good. 20 mins later she was gone.
I got off the phone simply heart sick! I told DH and he was upset too! We went though the trail with the girls as if nothing was out of ordinary for the girls. We were walking over to the Festival of the Lion King and talked about what to do....do we leave and lose the money and vacation? We just didn't know what to do.
I dont care how many times we see it, we still enjoy Festival of the Lion King.
After the show, DH went to find a quiet spot to call home and I took the girls over to get our picture taken with Minnie.
After Dh talks to his Dad, we stop at Pizzafari for lunch. His Dad tells us to just stay where we are until they know the arrangements tomorrow. We still have not told the girls, I just am not ready to upset their applecart.
After our lunch, its parade time! I love the Jammin Jungle Parade!
Its fastpass time....off on Safari we go!! I was surprised about the amount of animals that we did see that late in the afternoon. They changed the storyline a little bit too.
After Safari, we head to the Kali Rapids...fastpasses are all gone, so we do standby which says 90 mins
Its the only ride that DH wants to do before we leave...
The wait was only about an hour and I have to admit that the details in the que line are really neat and interesting to look at...plus it gave us time to talk about what we should do.
After the rapids, we head back to the Pop for some swim time. The girls were begging all day and our dinner ressies at Ohanas werent until 8:45 that night. I take the girls swimming and DH makes some phone calls back home.
We went swimming in the 'computer' pool...plenty of room and the water was a relaxing warm!
My sore legs and feet were happy! The girls loved to splash and play around.
After about an hour of swimming, we head back up to the room and get ready for dinner. I give the girls a bath and get them dressed. We head to catch the MK bus to catch the monorail to hit the Poly!
The girls love riding the monorail.
At O'hanas, we are seated right next to a window.
That is the Wishes fireworks in the background. The food and the services were both fantastic and it was a great end to a not so great day.
