This has been quite a week. Some good and some bad. Yesterday, I had a garage sale. I put a sign up in the garage saying that I was selling furniture as well. If anyone was interested, I'd be happy to show it. I sold a 36" TV, a curio cabinet and a TV stand. I also made about $700 in the garage sale. Today, a relator showed my house. A little while later, the lady who toured the house came by to tell me she wanted to buy my daughter's bedroom suite. Yeah!

A friend of mine's husband offered to drive a truck with our possessions to Florida for us. He wants a new riding lawn mower. We agreed to hire him to do this because it will save us a lot of money and he is a very nice guy. He came out to see what we have to move. While here, he bought my bedroom furniture! I have had this furniture forever and really want to get new. In addition, he brought me three big pallets of boxes. This is working out great.

His wife and kids decided they want to visit Florida so they are going to fly down with my sister, DD and I. We are all staying for 3 nights at the AKL. Once her husband gets there with the truck, they will go on for a vacation at Cocoa Beach. How fun to spend a couple of days with her at WDW.

Our only obstacle left was selling our cars before we leave Kansas City. We didn't want to pay to transport them because we really want new cars. I wasn't looking forward to having to sell them. Last night, my friend's husband called and offered to buy both my car and my sisters for the amount we were asking. He told us to just continue to drive them until time to move. How great! Our cars are in good condition and very low milage.

Now, with everything going so well, I should be happy. Unfortunately, DD is sad. The boy she likes asked someone else to prom. She is only a sophomore, so it really isn't a big deal, but she does like him and I know it hurts. It's bad enough that she is going to be leaving her friends soon. When she's sad, I'm sad.

How sad for your daughter. It hurts the parents just as much sometimes as the kids when this happens.

You say it is no big deal but to her it probably is a very big deal.

I hope that she will be asked to the prom by someone else and can go and have fun with her friends before she has to leave them.
