The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

LOVE the haircut teresa!! Tell Natalie we said happy early birthday!!

Well-- my dog is down now. Jethro went out in his back yesterday and wont walk, wont do anything but lay down. I have a vet apt at 1 so we will see how that goes. I hope they x-ray him and we can get him on the mend soon. I have Ellie outside-- and Jethro is in his bed laying down (I held him until late in the night and all morning- i had to have a break). Hopefully it is something that will heal soon. I hear dogs are resilient. I hope so.

Thanks everyone. Maggie I hope your jethro feels better soon.

Maggie- hope your little guy gets better. Luckily our hot dog gas never had back problems, but she stood on the Pomeranian and blew a disc in her back. Had to have back surgery, but is now 95% steady on her rear legs. When she was first injured she could not bear any weight on either leg. I'll be sending good thoughts your way...:flower3:

They gave Jethro a shot in his front leg for pain, and then now he is on an anti-inflammatory, pepcid for his stomac (from the anti-inflammatory) and a pain medicine. I start all of that tonight. He is in his bed now with Ellie (I make her stay with him-- she has mothering skills even though shes never been one ;)) Hes so pitiful looking. When we came in I just put him down and he just layed there.

She doctor said i couldnt have him use any steps for 2 weeks. We have two steps from our back porch to the sidewalk/yard. The doctor said i should build a ramp because the next time could mean he is paralyzed. Talking about making you feel like a terrible parent/dog owner. I know the steps arent whats messing with his back, its his toys (which we are taking away-- i know, sad right?). Hes just an overly hyper active dog and will wear himself out to the extreme over a toy.

Oh well... im sure he will feel fine in a few days :):thumbsup2

ARGHHHHHHHHH!

Just found out- it has been confirmed by the CDC that 3 people the next town over from us have Swine Flu:headache: Poo!

The family just returned from Mexico a few days ago.

This is just weird.

You see these people walking around with masks- hello- it is airborne, what about your eyes? They should just stick a bag over their heads.:rotfl2:

Theresa - I love your hair! When I got mine cut last year, I lost 13 inches. I was nervous, but I love it. I still get complements on it several times a week.

She doesn't know it, but Tinker_ was the one who inspired me to cut it, because I thought her hair was so cute!

Awwwwww! Thank you so much Alesia!! I really appreciate that, it made my day :goodvibes

Maggie-hope your pup is feeling better today. Poor little thing.

I have a sick kid this morning.:guilty: DD has been coughing, has a light fever and has thrown up twice. We had plans to go to a Derby party tomorrow but I guess we'll miss it. Everyone is so paranoid right now, it's better to be safe than sorry. So I guess we'll be quarantined this weekend except for me going to work. :confused3

I hope your DD feels better soon. My BIL has the flu and has been running a midgrade fever for two as well. That darn media, his doc told him bed rest and lots of fluids. Well I am off to start my busy day.

Yeah- Imagine if your child coughs near someone, they will have her "escorted" out of the area and quarantined! :sad2: Sorry you will miss the Derby:guilty:

It is a rainy day here- we have no plans for tonight. Tomorrow they are calling for possible showers too, so not sure what we will do. But Sunday we have a concert- GOJIRA!!!!

I hope your daughter gets to feeling better soon. The throw up part is never a good thing. I hope its just a bug and nothing too serious! Keep us posted.

Jethro seems to be feeling a little better. Last night we were holding the dogs as they were drifting off to sleep (and then we go put them in their beds-- they are spoiled- you can tell we dont have kids in the house yet). Anyway, DH looked at Ellie (who he was holding) and said in his little puppy dog voice (that we use with the dogs)... 'Do you think Jeffy has the swine flu" (we call him Jeffy around here sometimes). I just burst out laughing. Its amazing how this swine flu is in the front of our minds so often.

Thanks Kellie. I hope you are doing well yourself!

Jethro is doing better. He is still on medicine but doing great! Hes back to running, and trying to play (although we have put all of his outside toys up-- so he is limited to only playing in the house- and all of these toys are easy so he can't get too rough and throw his back out again).

DH and I have a jack and jill baby shower to attend this afternoon. Should be fun. We got paid for our crib, armoire, and dresser combination last night, and also got our stroller and car seat. We figured those things wont get bought off of our registry anyway (the stroller and carseat). We are having a terrible time trying to decide on what to go ahead and buy, and what to register for. I really need to register. Hope all is well with everyone!

Cassi- hows your dog doin?

He's ok! Still hanging in there!

My big thing is Friday hospice released DBF's Dad from the hospital and so he is home now.. I am his care taker, and he is just getting worse and worse.... We are finally on hospice care (at home), but I know come Monday I will be struggling managing Wes, the dog, and him... I am sure I will be ok, but the task is daunting!

yikes. Did they think he was well enough to go home? Or did they feel he would just be more comfortable there? I hope things are going okay- you will certainly be worn out! Ill be keeping you all in my thoughts.

No, they have a 2 week max in the hospital hospice, usually no one makes it that long.. anyway, they had to release him bc of insurance. BUT I do think he is happier here at the house, we have him in the living room so he does not feel secluded, and at least we are foprtunate enough that I dont work and can take care of him. They keep telling us "it will be any day" but he keeps hanging on... the hardest part is explaining it to Wes.. he does not understand why Poppy cant play anymore, or why he is in bed all of the time :(
