The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Hey girls! I've been swamped the last couple of days, but wanted to stop in a catch up! Now all I want to do is crawl into bed with a good book and a slice of banana bread! :lmao:

Btw, Madd....I liked Alpha Dog! I'm not so sure that I liked it as much as you do, it got a little intense! I still can't believe it's a real story...that just kills me.

I went to a ladies night last night and we had a lot of fun! We were supposed to have dinner and watch a movie, but somehow once the wine started flowing and the girls got to gabbing we never got to the movie part! Oh well, it was fun nonetheless. We stayed pretty late for a work night (not such a good idea) but the funniest part was when the husband kept calling and asking if he could come home yet!

I've heard that granny story before and still find it hilarious!:lmao: And I'm not sure I even want to know what a ballcock is. I can't believe it didn't get ***** out even though I'm sure it is an important part of a healthy plumbing system.:rotfl2:

I'm sitting here drinking coffee with Kahlua, 1/2 & 1/2 and a little caramel syrup. Very tasty!:thumbsup2 Now that it is cooler than the surface of the sun here, I don't mind having a cup in the afternoon.:surfweb: Since the weather IS so nice, we are having a campfire in the backyard tonight to look at stars and see if our bats fly out again.:confused3

maggi-I love to read but that book does not sound like something I would enjoy. :confused3 The only non-fiction I normally do are biographies but mostly I stick to fiction. I do have Gonzo to start soon but I'll probably save it for my beach read. I do second the yoga idea. It is very relaxing and good for you as well. :hippie:

Thanks for the recomendation on the book Maggi...I just logged on to my library account and am having one sent to my branch for pickup! It sounds very intriguing to me! Our system only has one copy and it is checked out right now, but it's due back by Sept. 30 so hopefully I'll get it by/before then! I'm looking forward to it. While I was there I also asked for Eat,Pray,Love because I just want to read that again. If anyone hasn't read it I would recommend it.

Now I guess I better go get some:laundy: done! But a cup of coffee with Kahlua in it sounds like more fun! :surfweb:

Mmmm. Coffee with kahlua. but since it's so late in the day I'd better skip the coffee and just have the kahlua with cream;)

I've been known to put a splash of Bailey's in my coffee in the winter on really cold days. That'll warm you up:thumbsup2

Madd - you might want to check out the Hippocrates Institute, it's in Miami. They are a rehab that only serves raw food. Maybe they have recipes on their website? I know they have a "raw food social network." My BIL rehabbed there. http://www.hippocratesinst.org/

Thanks for the site Jen- I will check it out.

Hey all!

The remnants of Ike blew though here on Sunday and did quite a lot of damage. We were lucky and only lost one big limb off a tree far from the house. We do have tons of sticks all over the place, though. There were lots and lots of broken and uprooted trees. They are estimating that they won't get everyone's power back on until at least Friday. Luckily, ours was only out for about 6 hours.

Right now, I'm trying to put off fixing my toilet. I stopped by Lowe's today and got the stuff to fix it, but I'm thinking of leaving it for Chris to do. By the way, doesn't an adjustable ballcock sound a lot more exciting than something that goes in a toilet tank?

Alesia- glad to hear you are OK!

The interesting plumbing "part" sounds like another item you will find on Too Timid:lmao: I would PEE if I had to go into Home Depot and ask for one of those:rotfl2:

ballcock, sounds interesting...:lovestruc ..i mean plumbing sounds like a terrible idea... :rolleyes1

Marna- I completely understand. I ONLY read non-fiction. I have a hard time comprehending a lot of fake stories and stuff. I dont know- not much into it!

hadley- let me know when you get it! Cant wait to hear what you think. A girlfriend of mine had eat, pray, love and couldnt get into it. I might try it sometime...

I did read Eat, Pray, Love not too long ago and enjoyed it for the most part. It was a bit narcissistic(is that the right word?:confused3 ) for my taste but I do like her writing style. I liked her other book The Last American Man a lot. Hey, does anyone have a little bookworm smiley? Or a cute little guy with his nose in a book? That's how I've spent most of my life until kids and the internet started interfering.

Any baby news yet??? :goodvibes

Unfortunately, not.
Awwww... I was hoping to hear you'd brougth back 'a little souvenir'!! (remember that Disney cruise commercial years back?) I hope it will all work out in time for you and DH. I know it can be stressful... my twins are IVF babies :lovestruc Well... they aren't babies technically--- they remind me often they are 'almost' 9!

Wasn't that crazy for our area? Not much for those used to hurricane force winds, but 74 MPH gusts here are unheard of for such long periods of time. We only lost power for a few hours. Still no power at my office; DH office (in Cincinnati) just got power back this evening. Kids have had 2 days off school and we're wondering now about tomorrow.

Hasn't the KY weather been great the past 2 days?!?! We're thinking of doing the fire thing tonight too... and we have one lone bat residing at our place now too! (They kinda creep me out though!)

Hey Eyedoc - what's with the counting?? :confused3 :confused3
He/She did the same on the freebie board only with the alphabet.

Yeah, we were hoping we would have too... but we arent even trying at this point. Its too important that I NOT get pregnant while on this medicine.

I'm hoping ill be off of my meds by our January cruise. That would be a great souvenir too!!

Madd- are you gearing up for halloween? I know every year you throw out the decor like its no ones business. I must admit. I decorated before we even left for Disney. I am in the spirit already!! I hope the fall weather comes soon! We are feeling it a little bit today and yesterday... lets hope it continues!

I agree with you on that, but I found it the kind of narcissism (is that the right word?) that I envied! To be able to have the resources and the wherewithall to be that self indulgent (even though it was also a quest) was something I admired and I found that I was able to grow through her experiences myself. That's why I'm gonna read it again...to see if I can soak in more the second time around! If I could drop everything and do what she did, I would in a road runner second!

To quote Madd...I AM PEEING!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm assuming it's a bad thing if your ballcock needs adjusting?:confused3
