The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Ding ding ding we have a winner :thumbsup2

I tried the recipe posted with the sour cream in it & it's delish!!! Forewarn others to make sure you have a BIG bowl or you won't fit it all when mixing and do NOT double the recipe as this one makes 2 good size loafs! I'm just glad I didn't have more nana's because normally I double a recipe when I do breads, cookies, etc. but this one already is a large recipe size.

Sounds yummy!!! I LOVE banana bread...now I'm craving...:goodvibes

OMG!! I just did something crazy!:scared1: I just booked the AKL club level for three days in May. We are planning to go already to Pop Century for DD's b-day and I just stuck this on at the end for DH and my anniversary. I hope he doesn't get mad at me but if I pay for it all beforehand, I don't think he will. I'm going to try my best to keep it a secret if Disney doesn't spill the beans. I'd love to get up on our check-out day from Pop and say "Oh, by the way, I have a surprise for you." I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I just hope nothing ruins my plans. If this split stay thing works out, I think it would be a great way to enjoy the deluxes without having to spend insane amounts of money. We can stay at a value and do all our commando touring and then switch to a deluxe for a couple of days for downtime.:cloud9:

How neat! I'd love to surprise DH with something like that too, but I'm SO bad with surprises, especially if its something with WDW, I'd be itching and burning to tell him! Great plans, I'm excited for you!

Ok, so my husband picked the kids up from school and met me at his mothers house...he's changing breaks, long story...anyway, so I'm checking out DS(5) bookbag to see if he has homework and I find a note made out to me. It says your child may not return to school tomorrow due to your failure to turn in the information needed....Ok I have to go back a little. Monday I had a message on the answering machine from the school nurse saying to call her back, not an emergency, just needed to ask a question. So no big deal, by the time I got the message school was over so I called her the next morning(which was yesterday). She said that one of DS MMR vaccines weren't listed on his paper that you turn in when they start Kindergarten, and asked me to have the Dr office fax it over to her. So Ok, for those of you who don't know, I work part-time and go to school full-time, plus have 3 kids and all the activities that come along with them. So needless to say I didn't get around to calling the Dr right that second, it didn't seem like it was a life or death situation:confused3 . So fast forward to the note...Now I'm ticked because I'm on my way to class and have to be late now so that I can pick up a new copy of DS shot records and havn't changed out of my work clothes yet. So I stop at home and as I'm walking in the door the phone is ringing, i'm in a hurry so I don't worry about it but can hear a woman on the answering machine talking. She's telling me she's from Houseparty.com and my local NBC station wants to come to my house and tape my Orville/Maybelline party:scared1: . I already passed out my bags to people, I don't have anything left to have a party except the DVD and my stuff!! So I'm freaking out trying to figure out how to tell this lady I don't want news people at my house (plus the fact that i don't have time to clean it). So after school I check my email and this lady had emailed me also so I just said that I had the party yesterday and I couldn't do it.:rolleyes1 That was the most anxious hour I've had in quite some time!

Wow, what a day! Sorry to hear about the school giving you a tough time, hope it's all straightened out now...and House Party calling for NBC to tape your party! I think I would have turned them down too, I don't want to have to clean my house to make it "TV ready" especially since we just moved and have boxes of stuff still laying here, and I think my friends and I would feel so awkward having a camera on us while we're 'partying'...weird. Hope you have a better day tomorrow!

I have a bunch of posts to catch up on...tomorrow DD starts her preschool (school started last week but we had just came home from CA and I didn't want to put her in so quickly) and I'm a nervous wreck. She's happy as a clam but I'm the total opposite. Even though it's only for 2.5 hours for 2 days, I'm still sitting here anxious, nervous and just an overall mess of emotions. I know, it's silly...I just can't help it. My little baby grew up so fast, I remember a few posts back, a couple of you were sad to see your DD/DS leave for college...and I got choked up over those posts, I can't imagine not getting teary eyed tomorrow in the car after I drop her off...:sad1:

How'd ya do? I was the same way when my twins started preschool... a nervous wreck for months and tears after I dropped them off

They are in 3rd grade now- this year we went from a tiny private school to a larger public school and I was still a nervous wreck- even with 8 year olds! I can't even imagine sending them off to college... guess we'll be back here for support from all those who've 'been there, done that'!!

Today is the 4th day since Sunday's storm my office does not have power- fun now... but we'll pay later! Anway, DH boss got back from the World this past weekend and I had him pick up a few CDs for me. If you love park and parade music you should pick these up next trip :lovestruc

Disney's Magic in the Streets: Parade Memories
Four Parks~One World: The Official Album (2 discs)

I'm listening now and just dreaming... guess I'll have to turn it down when all the Disney shows start at 2 on the Travel Channel!!

That is so cool. DH and DD did this for my 40th birthday. They planned a whole trip and never told me. I found out the day before we left. Have fun

My 40th is in February, so I can secretly pretend that it's for me. My kids and DH would never, ever do something like that for me. My DH usually doesn't even buy me a card.:sad2:

 Hugs, Hugs, and more Hugs! Sounds like a stressful time you were having. I keep my home pretty much spotless... however I would decline having tv people in my house. Thats bananas:banana: (and not dancing bananas at that!). I'm pretty sure they should just simulate a houseparty if they want a shot of one that bad. LOL.. not asking completely strangers into their house and making them feel uncomfortable. And how many people actually hold the parties on the dates that they tell you. Hmm... crazy!

Hope the school situation got worked out.

Kudos to you and the other girls who have children, work, AND go to school. I don't know how you do it!:grouphug:

So I started a new book... "The Five Love Languages: How to Express Hearfelt Committment to Your Mate" by Gary Chapman

Ive been putting it off for some time. Im not a sappy lovey-dovey kind of person... and I figured this book would emulate some of that stuff. I am completely surprised how much I am learning. I should be finished with it soon- but its good. Another one that you guys might be interested in.

Here is the review from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Five-Love-Languages-Heartfelt-Commitment/dp/1881273156
Amazon.com Review
Unhappiness in marriage often has a simple root cause: we speak different love languages, believes Dr. Gary Chapman. While working as a marriage counselor for more than 30 years, he identified five love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. In a friendly, often humorous style, he unpacks each one. Some husbands or wives may crave focused attention; another needs regular praise. Gifts are highly important to one spouse, while another sees fixing a leaky faucet, ironing a shirt, or cooking a meal as filling their "love tank." Some partners might find physical touch makes them feel valued: holding hands, giving back rubs, and sexual contact. Chapman illustrates each love language with real-life examples from his counseling practice.
How do you discover your spouse’s – and your own – love language? Chapman’s short questionnaires are one of several ways to find out. Throughout the book, he also includes application questions that can be answered more extensively in the beautifully detailed companion leather journal (an exclusive Amazon.com set). Each section of the journal corresponds with a chapter from the book, offering opportunities for deeper reflection on your marriage.

Although some readers may find choosing to love a spouse that they no longer even like –hoping the feelings of affection will follow later– a difficult concept to swallow, Chapman promises that the results will be worth the effort. "Love is a choice," says Chapman. "And either partner can start the process today." --Cindy Crosby. This text refers to the Amazon.com Exclusive Journal & Paperback Book Set.

I love that book! And hopefully one day you'll also want to read his Five Love Languages for Children My kids 'tanks' are filled differently- and even different than DH's and mine. DD is totally quality time, DS is physical touch, I'm for sure words of affirmation and DH... I'm still trying to figure him out after nearly 20 years

So ladies, I've decided to have a little get together with some friends tomorrow night and I told them I wanted to do pizzas on the grill...with lots of different toppings so people could customize their own! And everyone loved that idea, so my question to you is has anyone ever done this before and if so, do you have any suggestions or advice to give me? I think it'll be a lot of fun, but I'd rather not screw anything up....I'll have to serve lots of drinks first to make sure nobody cares!;)

this is the one my sister in law used. When she first told me about doing it I thought she was drunk:rotfl2:
But they came out great

Thanks Kellie! I had looked up a few recipes, but hadn't found anything like that! I like that it's step by step and has pictures! I'm a picture kinda girl, I love cookbooks, but only if they have pictures. I need the visual aid I guess...

I am like that also. I like to have pictures to help me if it something I have never done.
Oh and the dental floss hint really does work.

It is a neat thing. Give it a shot.

Just make sure to brush your grill good with olive oil so the dough doesn't stick. And don't expect the cheese on top to brown. It will just melt a little. What toppings are you going to have? I suggest doing a couple of sauces like pesto, tomato and I, personally, love carmelized onions. And then topping combinations are endless. Yumm....can I come over?
