The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

This is turning into such a funny/weird week! On top of everything else, DS just came in and told me they are doing "A Christmas Story" for their play at the high school this year. Then, he told me he won the part of "Ralphie". OMG!

It's a good thing this is his senior year!! I wouldn't want him to be called "Ralphie" the rest of his years in school! :rotfl:

Tell DS Congrats!

I love Ralphie "You'll shoot your eye out!" Parker!:lmao: :rotfl2:

Just thought I would stop and check in. I am so busy right now with mid terms that I am not getting much freap chat and freebie browsing in. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this nice weather. At least it is nice here. Just on a fun note I did get to work at an archaeological dig site this last friday and I did find a 700 year old dear tooth and bone fragments from human remains. We also recovered to arrow points as this site was from a native american village from around 700 to 800 years ago. This was so cool.
It sounds like ypu are enjoying your classes. I hope you do great on your mid terms

Ok, guys, it's that time again. There is another book out that can be won for your school library or local library.

For those of you who did not participate last time, we only post vague information about this one hoping that the answers and information can't be googled and we might have a better chance of winning a book for our favorite place; be it our school library, public library, or homeschool setting. :goodvibes

Go to the link above and enter these answers:

Good luck and I hope as many DISers as possible win "the book that won't be named" ;)

I think it was posted here or on one of the past freebie threads. May head is about ready to explode. I am sitting here trying to understand the ancient athenian empire so I can write my midterm paper that is due tomorrow and for the life of me I am now completely blank after 4 other midterms in less than a week on top of family life and issues. Oh Boy think I just need to sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:rotfl:

1 box of spice cake mix
1 can of pumpkin pie stuff (like Libby's canned pumpkin)

thats it!

You can add nuts/raisins, whatnot to your liking.

Dust with powdered sugar, use cream cheese frosting, whatever you choose.

Thank you. Do you follow the recipe on the box of cake or do yu just add the pumpkin to the cake mix. Just want to make sure I got this right.

Found the OP:
Ingredients
18 ounces boxed spice cake mix
15 ounces pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
Directions
Simply mix the pumpkin and the spice cake mix together until well combined. (At this point you may also want to throw in some nuts or raisins, if you like.).
Spoon into paper lined small muffin/cupcake tins.
Bake at 350* 18-22 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.

Oh my goodness, I haven't been over here in awhile! My BIL came down last week with his children and kept us very busy! He is a single father with 4 kids ranging from 3-22! He needed a vacation, but then like always, I think he needed a vacation from his vacation!

Sounds like everyone is doing well...keeping themselves well fed and well studied if not well rested!

I am soooo sorry I missed your bday Kellie so this is belated...

Sad to think it's at least partially true :sad2:

We're leaving, first thing in the morning, to go down to Bozeman for the weekend. They are having a "Family Weekend" for the college students and their families to get together. We are taking a friend of DSs with us so they can both check out the college for consideration of their attendance next year. Saturday, we might drive down to Yellowstone Park...it has been years and years since we have been there. I am NOT ready to go but I can't wait to get out of here! :rotfl: I feel like I have been running around in circles all week and I am looking forward to relaxing a bit. DH has been gone since last Saturday and he is going to meet us down there on Friday. I get the feeling he hasn't been having the best of weeks, where he is working, and he is looking forward to getting down there, too. (He has been calling me several times a day "just to check in" and he NEVER does that).

Today I locked my keys in the old truck I was using and I just gave up for this week. :rotfl2: No point fighting the carma! ;)

You guys all be safe this weekend and I am looking forward to catching up next week. :hippie:

Have fun. Hopefully things will go nice and smooth

For those of you who have tried the Pumpkin/Spice Cake Mix recipe-- does the pumpkin not make it TOO dense without the egg?
