Nikolas Sees Emily - Or Does He?
TC says that Nik sees someone who looks like Emily, from a distance. She bares enough of a resemblance to Emily that he drops his phone and runs after her.
Unfortunately, he's not quick enough to catch up with her. TC says she's gone, he misses her.
Viewers know it's not Emily but rather the mystery woman, Rebecca. And despite her resemblance to Emily, no one has bothered to mention her to Nikolas? TC confirms, nope, nobody has.
Nik doesn't know what's going on but he doesn't think his eyes are playing tricks on him. He's pretty positive it was her but he's also scared that his hallucination might be returning. There's a lot of different thing going through his mind.
Like thoughts of another brain tumor?
"Right," TC shudders.
Does Robin Need Help?
This week, Patrick seeks help for Robin's PPD, because she won't.
JT says that Patrick is worried about the way Robin has been acting. He's stuck between going with his gut reaction, that she does indeed have PPD and wondering if it's just what the books say, that she's got the 'baby blues.'
Patrick suggested she talk to someone but she's not willing to do it. Robin feels it's all just a normal reaction to a stressful life.
She doesn't want to talk about it, so Patrick seeks out the help of others. Carly went through it, so he talks to her about it and she basically tells him that he should address it before it's too late.
Patrick consults Liz after she has a run-in with a volatile Robin, but that only leaves him confused. JT says that Liz is somewhere in the middle with her advice, she tells him it's their first child, they just moved but maybe there's something more to this.
But Robin can't take anymore of his worrying. JT says she's getting annoyed with his hovering. She thinks he feels like she's the one who needs the babysitter, not Emma!
Toxic Terror!
JT says that it's high stakes drama as people are trapped inside the hospital, and the people who know anything about the toxin are outside. Patrick and the others realize they're on their own.
It all starts with a patient. JT says that as Patrick is about to leave the hospital a patient comes in with internal bleeding. Matt tells him to go home to his wife and kid, he'll take care of it and goes into surgery without checking the X-rays. Patrick takes a quick glance at the X-rays and notices there's something off with them. There are five little balls in the patient's stomach.
Then Patrick gets a call from Jason, telling him Agent Rayner wants to question the patient, Earl Bragg about terrorism. JT says that Patrick finds out that Earl has ingested biotoxins. Patrick tries to stop the surgery, but he's too late. They're cutting into Earl and when they cut him, one of the little spheres gets nick and releases a gas into the OR.
Matt tries to get his operating team, Liz, Monica, Leyla and the rest of them, out but the toxin quickly overcomes everyone, as Patrick is watching on, in horror from the observation room.
JT explains that they try to contain but slowly realize that it hasn't been fully contained. It's rippling throughout the hospital and finding its way into other rooms. People are slowly succumbing to the effects of the gas in different areas and they're not sure how or why or how to help.
Agent Rayner is on the phone, outside the hospital. There's a lot that's not being told to Patrick, which frustrates him. Even Rayner isn't sure how to handle things. They're not sure of the extent of the damage, so they have to lock down the hospital. No one gets in or out. Quarantine the area.
Patrick puts on a hazmat suit and enters the OR. When he's trying to get people out, some are responsive, some are not. Matt is definitely one who is affected.
Patrick is consumed by guilt and tries to learn what he can from Earl's corpse. When he takes out the four remaining balls, the membrane casing on them has been compromised by Earl's stomach acid. One of those things caused this much damage, now multiply it by four, and they could be dealing with a huge, huge crisis. It could get a lot, lot worse.
And it does...
A Closer Look: Kate
This week Kate gets her hands on proof that Claudia set up the shooting that wounded Kate and left Michael in a vegetative state. MW outlines how Kate ends up taking it on the chin again - and shouldering all the blame. Again.
SOW asks why Kate tells Olivia that she saw Claudia watching something suspicious on DVD.
MW says Kate wants Olivia to help her warn Sonny about Claudia being up to something, but Olivia isn't having it. She thinks that Kate's playing games. So Kate takes it upon herself to continue to investigate so she can figure out what's going on the for the sake of Sonny and herself and because she hates Claudia. Kate, once again, sneaks into Sonny's house, this time she finds the DVD that Claudia was watching.
SOW says so Kate's a cat burglar now?
MW laughs and says that Kate doesn't go unnoticed. Sonny winds up catching her where they continue a fight that started earlier in the day, about how sad things have turned out and how the night Michael got shot was a turning point in their relationship. It's a very beautiful, confessional moment for them.
SOW asks if that means Kate is able to talk her way out with the DVD?
MW says that Claudia shows up and Kate takes that as her cue to leave.
SOW asks what's on the DVD.
MW says that it has all the info about Claudia's wild-goose chase that sent her looking for the proof that she's responsible for Michael's shooting. Kate gets it all, Michael was an accidental shooting because Sonny was the target.
SOW notes that Kate also learns, from the DVD that Claudia hired Ian and MW confirms.
SOW asks if Kate's first thought is to go to Sonny with this?
MW says that it absolutely is. Him, and nobody else.
SOW says that means going to the hospital fundraiser.
MW says yes, because that's where Sonny is. Kate knows she's not welcome there because she had a confrontation with Carly, earlier that day and also a confrontation with Sonny. Nobody wants to see her there, because she's the scapegoat for the whole Michael situation. It's like 'Blame Kate for having a family moment with Sonny and Michael.'
SOW asks if she manages to find Sonny or does someone get in her way?
MW says that everyone gets in her way. Olivia has been ordered by Carly to get rid of Kate. So Olivia and Kate have a huge dustup about Olivia's true intentions with being in town and that it's none of Olivia's business why Kate needs to see Sonny. Kate's recruited Lulu to be her guard dog to get to Sonny but Lulu doesn't help. So she's having a tough time getting to him.
SOW says the final obstacle is poison gas. Just as Kate sees Sonny, she mysteriously collapses.
MW says right and no one knows why. Claudia thinks that Kate's faking it and says she's a drama queen.
SOW asks if Kate has the DVD with her when she collapses.
MW says that she does and it's part of the whole story, what happens to the DVD?
SOW says forget the DVD, what happens to Kate?
MW says you don't know if she's going to live or die...
