I read on another soap board that Steve Burton said at a personal appearance that Liaison was over. I really hope not! That was the only think I liked on GH.

I'm sure he was just joking. Because he also said that Jason's heart is with Elizabeth.

IMO there's no way the relationship w/ Jason & Claudia can ever be anything but antagonistic/blood enemies if her part in Michael's shooting is ever revealed. I don't think Jason would let her live, period, which is a shame, because I think the two actors work incredibly well together.

CHECKING IN WITH GH'S BOB GUZA JR.

General Hospital's shooting of 12-year-old Michael Corinthos III earlier this month stunned fans and brought head writer Bob Guza Jr. considerable scrutiny. This week, we check back with the scribe to see how things have played out in the four weeks since that controversial episode aired.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Many fans were concerned that the epiphanies the central characters [Carly, Sonny, and Jason] experienced when Michael was shot would be short lived.
BOB GUZA JR.: You will see professional and personal changes that will last for these people. Sonny is going to have to make a very, very painful professional decision, which will make Jason then have to make a painful professional decision. Carly will then have to deal with the reality of that and make a choice in terms of her friendship with the two of them. It's very, very big both professionally and personally. The shooting of Michael, the incapacitating of Michael, was the biggest thing we could do to these three people.

Do you think that skeptics are seeing the lasting changes already?
I really hope so. We're starting to have people coming back and saying, ''At least Sonny and Jason are now seeing what they've wrought. And they're seeing the consequences of this.'' Which is exactly what we want them to feel. We want them to empathize but we want them to feel that these people made choices that are causing consequences.

When we last spoke, you expressed a little bit of concern about the show maybe getting a little bit too depressing. How are you feeling about that?
Doing this to a kid is horrible. It's just dreadful.... It's so grim that my instinct as a fan is to want to do some funny stuff. Some light stuff. But it's so hard because this is an umbrella story. It affects everybody. If Carly were suddenly chastising Max for sleeping with Diane, you'd go ''Wait a minute. Your son, your 12-year-old son, is in a coma and you're worried about Diane sleeping with Max?'' You wouldn't buy it because the character wouldn't do it. And that's the line we've had to walk, and I'm very proud we've walked it. And I hope the audience understands that we had to do this diligence so we could get to a place where we could get to that balance.

So have you felt a need to ramp up the romance?
There's a lot of romance to be had in all of this... Sonny and Carly are actually going to get to a highly romantic place that underscores their deep connection. Jason and Liz are going to reconnect over this in a very romantic, though sadder way, because they've made the choice not to be together.

This last week or so has been a real yawn. Aside from the comical aspects of Diane and Max..and then Spinelli and Maxie...it's been kind of boring. Hopefully things will pick up. Also how many times can Sonny possible say.."My son was shot because of me?"...DUH...really....I'm shocked. I'm really shocked YOU KEEP SAYING IT OVER AND OVER.

I was gone for vacation for over a week and finally got caught up yesterday. Here are some random thoughts:

I love Max & Diane, Diane needs to be put on contract

When are they going to do another opening, lots of dead people in the opening.

Loved Kate's blouse (the blue one with the pearls)

I fast fowarded all of Jason & Claudia's scenes. I love Jason, can't stand Claudia. She's just a creepy sleezy lady.

New Patrick isn't that bad, lol. Like Jason Thompson better though. Funny about Robin's mom, one hot mama! Open mouth, insert foot.

Spinelli & Maxie are kind of cute...the one time I like Maxie.

Lulu is getting to be an annoying spoiled brat..."Johnny didn't do it, Johnny wouldn't do something like that...etc" Annoying! Just shut up already.

Epiphany was funny with Spinelli & Maxie.

Alexis coming in like the big sheriff in town was stupid.

I haven't watched today's episode yet.

Dr. Devlin is just creepy and he needs to go.

Sam & Lucky...I just don't like them as a couple.

Liz & Jason need to stop just looking at each other and do something

Okay so I was watching the Emmy nominations on the View this morning and I think overall GH got shafted. I was so hoping Bradford Anderson was nominated. Spinelli rocks.

I knew bradford wouldn't get nominated because he does mostly comedy and not drama, so unless GH gives him something dramatic, hes not going to get nominated

I was hoping for Bradford too, and also Tyler Christopher (Nicholas). I thought he did a phenomenal job. I can't believe that all of the GH actors were overlooked, except Tony Geary, and he was hardly on,

**Has GH gone too far? Guza says that Michael picking up the gun in the first place was done during the strike. He confirms the show received a lot of comment - mostly negative - about that.

The story of Michael in the coma is a direct result of the outcry; Guza wanted to show the consequences of Jason and Sonny`s lifestyle
Guza hopes fans hope people recognize that Michael being shot is a case of ''the chickens coming home to roost'' ie the consequences.

Stories you won't see

During the strike several seeds were planted; Kate's back story and Oliva, forget it, ain't happening per Guza, at least not right now
Kate's backstory not in May, maybe later, forget Olivia, ain't happening.

Jason leaving behind his criminal lifestyle, ''under the current circumstances, given the Mob war and Michael, it would be very difficult for Jason to walk away''

Sonny would hate Jason if he just up and left the mob.

Brenda? Door is always open, she has an open invitation. If she were to say yes, Guza says he'd have her working and on screen so fast your head would spin.

Is Trevor a dead man walking?

Guza is a big fan says it would be very hard for anyone to take Trevor down, Trevor is smart and making alliances.

Is Carly's son aging?

GH is looking for a brown eyed, brown haired kid who can handle inense dialogue, sounds like a Morgan recast.

Guza says he hesitates to do it (age Michael, as per the rumors) because he doesn't want to age SCum, but he says at some point they'll do it. He likes the idea of Sonny having to deal with a 20 year old son, but again it ages SCum………. So ''not yet''

As SID went to press: Ian checks out week of May 5th; Jason Cook joins the cast this June as a new Dr.
Rumor is he is for Maxie

May 7th, Nik bids farewell to Emily.

Anthony pits Ric and Trevor against one another on May 5th
He puts the screws to Lulu on May 9th
Claudia finds herself being pressured by Jerry on that same day.
Alexis is in for a shock when she catches Jerry kissing Claudia on May 12th
Sam too is caught off guard on May 13th
Anthony reveals his plans for Claudia on May 14th
May 14th Ric tells Alexis he's become a new man
Things don't go as planned for Claudia when she turns to Jerry for a helping hand on May15th
May 16th Claudia is in over her head, she might not resurface


Heartbreak Ahead (really abridged version) As Carly continues to be in denial about Michael, Sonny and Jax team up to make her see reason. LW says that in her mind, they are either with her or against her. As the guys try to get through to her, she freezees them out, they want to put Michael in a permanent care facility. LW says he pleads her case, but the 2 guys aren't listening so she feels betrayed.
Sonny warns Carly he'll take her to court.


Carly wants Michael at home with her. In character LW says she'd tell any judge that Sonny protected Kate over his own son.

Carly takes Michael home. Morgan doesn't get the whole coma thing and Carly finds him shaking Michael to wake up.


Again Carly and Sonny go at it and she'll him he wants to lock Michael away so he, Sonny, doesn't have to deal with what a failure he is as a father.

Carly suggests that Sonny should go as far as removing Michael from life support.

Kate surprisingly is on Carly's side, this is after Claudia reduces Kate to tears. Kate tries to talk Sonny out of taking Carly to court.

Jason of course gets through to Carly. Carly tells Sonny she'll have Michael moved back to GH and from there the facility.

At the facility Carly unleashes all her emotions. Jase admits to Sonny that his protecting Kate over Michael has created a divide between them (sason)
This may prove beneficial to Kate when Jason gets incriminating info on her.



Will Claudia sleep with Sonny again This week Claudia pushes Kate's buttons and gets Kate to crumble and cry. Claudia is also shaking in her boots that she will be revealed as the person who put the hit on Sonny. Is claudia's newfound trust in Jason sincere or a tactic.


Mo says Sonny is caught in the middle between the good girl and bad girl. Mo doesn't believe Sonny would go there again with Claudia **
