The GCH has the best customer service I have ever experienced.

After checking into our rooms last night we found that one of our rooms was not quite "right". I went down to talk to the front desk people and she promised to fix it, while we were out eating dinner. She also game us dinner passes for our entire party to use at PCH,
Storytellers or Steakhouse 55. After dinner we returned to our rooms and found that the room was still not right. This time she moved all of us (both rooms) to view rooms and gave us a $200 room credit. I didn't ask for anything other than for them to fix the room, but they kept throwing free dinners, credits and upgrades at us. Now that's customer service! :thumbsup2

YES that is!! That is really awesome! What does ur view show you? How fun! You guys made quite a trip to go there maybe the recognize that! Disney is defiantly a customer first kind of place! That is part of the reason that I love it so much! They are one of the few customer service orientated business left! Hope you and ur family has tons of fun!
We're going to try for a big family onsite trip this fall if all goes well!! I may have to keep my eye on the GCH rates!! :thumbsup2

Actually I got a pool view with dca in the background. The pool is closed so not sure if they coulda sold this as a view room anyways! Still the $200 and the free dinner is nice!

One of the room was fine but the other was not cleaned. It was straightened up like they do if you are not checking out that day. There was make up on some of the linnens, the used robe and towels were hanging on hooks, and there was used soap in the shower. Other signs that the room wasn't cleaned was the shoes the former guests left behind, there was and also some juice.

The bellman who saw the condition of the room was extremely apologetic, he delivered all of our luggage to the connecting room and then called someone to have it fixed. We waited an hour, in the other room, then decided to go eat dinner. When we checked on our way to dinner the room was still in it's unmade state. I stopped by the front desk on the way out to check, I was told that housekeeping checked and said that the room was "turned". I explained the state of the room and the situation and she said she would take care of it. This is when she gave me the 7 dinner passes. A couple hours later after dinner we all were ready to sleep (really tired after a long 7 hours of travel) but when we returned to the room the one room was still not done. This is when they offered to move us if they could find 2 connecting rooms. She came back and said they have 2 view rooms they would upgrade us to and would also credit us the $200 to that rooms account.

Well that's the story on the room...

You're lucky you had two rooms or else that could have been more problematic for the you and the hotel. But the hotel would have ran across the lobby put us in a room some where, when my children started to play duck duck goose in their lobby from boredom! :rotfl2:
They really did need to do something for you inconvenience. But they did go above and beyond IMO. I think most hotels would have upgraded or discounted but not both and on top of that dinner passes! :thumbsup2

Amazing. Looks like you the got full meal deal plus. We stayed there last August and had a grand time. Not a problem with anything other than the crowds.

Have a great stay.

Very nice. Still haven't decided whether or not we'll do the DLH or the GCH. GCH sure sounds like they go out of their way, but you definitely deserved that.

I had a similar experience (twice!) at DLH. I love the customer service. I have to admit that I have not had that same experience at GCH. Service has been ok but not what you found, and we were staying concierge. I would have expected better at that level but I've always gotten the best service when we had the cheapest room :goodvibes
