and what's left of the Cape May Point concrete ship. That is the Cape May Lewes ferry in the background.

I was on that ferry once when it was so rough that I got dizzy, could hardly walk straight & stumbled right into the men's room. I'll always remember the look on the face of the man standing at the urinal! :lmao:

:lmao: How embarrassing!

I know. I never did tell my family, I just stumbled back to where they were & sat down. :lmao: Every time I think of the ferry I remember that incident. :lmao:

The guy weaving and bobbing at the urinal probably remembers it too!

Saw an engineering program on TV about that ship. Very cool.

Nice pic. I've thought about taking that ferry a few times but now you guys have scared me out of it!!! :scared:

Hmm, couldn't walk straight & stumbling eh? You sure you didn't mistake this for a booze cruise & start the partying before you boarded? :lmao:

Somewhere-not digital though or I'd post it- I have a picture of my brother and me walking on the bay when it froze about 30 years ago. I grew up in Bayshore West--snow days/ frozen anythings were few and far between.

The ferry is much different than it was in the "old days". A LOT nicer, and not nearly as scary! :)

I always enjoy seeing the edge of the bay frozen - there's a quiet at the edge of the water that is unique to winter. In our first home in Townbank we could walk up the block and steal a peak at all the ice blocks piling up on the sand. Thanks for sharing your picture of the "sunken ship". We have a summer shot of the ship in our family room -local pictures are the best!:thumbsup2

P.S. We love the ferry, too! We ride it to Delaware and back with the kids just for fun during the summer. We call it "the 3 hour tour".

Nice pic. I have seen it in the summer (DW is from Avalon). I have taken the ferry several times and it was kinda bumpy.
