The FrenchFry takes on the Caesar Salad - DREAM COME TRUE GOT TO MEET PODCAST TEAM!

I was intending to do an update tonight but my little sister has been in hospital, she has an infected wound from her belly button bar which she had to get operated on today, her white blood cell count is through the roof and she's got cellulosis! our gp misdiagnosed her and the only reason she is not in even worse condition is because my mum who is a nurse basically had to ignore our doctor's prognosis and take her straight to casualty!

she is the baby in our family and its so sad seeing her all sad amd crying lying up in the horrible old smelly hospital!

she is on the left, just turned 17 last week, my other sister in middle is 18 and then I'm on right!

Awww! So sorry to hear about your sister! There's nothing like motherly instinct! Thank goodness she had the knowledge and intuition to not listen to the doctor. Hope she starts feeling better soon!

BTW...still no package..... :(

Thanks Nikki, yes if my mum had just been a regualar lay person with no medical knowledge she might not have had the confidence to act and instead have persisted with the doctor's (incredibly inaccurate) advice, and god knows what state my sister would have been in by now!

I am at work on package 2.0, started to pick up a few items today, and have filled in the first part of the compensation from, but made a mistake as have to include receipts or proof of purchase, ummmm, dear post office i threw out the receipts *** the items were going to america!!! but am going to highlight the items on my credit card bill where possible!

ps 100 postal workers sacked here recently for interfering with the mail.....

So sorry to hear about your sister. Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.

Thank you, I am heading to visit her now, she requested we bring her up KFC popcorn chicken, don't know if the nurses will be loving that!

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry about your sister! I hope she is doing much better!

Thanks for your kind words, she is not doing as good as they hoped, but hopefully will pick up in next couple of days!

I am so sorry about your sister. Hope she starts feeling better soon

Thanks Cat, she doesn't really complain much, the tears just start rolling down her cheek!

That's too bad that you never made it to the waterparks.
But, it looks like you had a great shopping trip. I love the Mickey bag & watch.
The blooming onion looks so good, I just might have to go eat at Outback this weekend to get me one!

Hurray to you for going all these years without ever doing laundry! I wish I could say the same! I'm doing it today :laundy:

You & your sisters are beautiful! I hope your sister makes a quick recovery. I didn't realize you could get an infection like that from a naval ring/bar.

I think we would want to do both disney waterparks next time, a teacher in DBF's school yold him that they were his favourite part of the holiday and we have something new to look froward to!

I really love both the bag and the watch! it took me a long time to decide on their presents but they were very happy with them! I got my mum some Bertie Bott's every flavour beans from Harry Potter too...

I wish we had an outback I could just scoot round to, but my next bloomin onion will hopefully be in california/vegas/san fran in 2013! yikes!

my mum is saying boo to me not knowing how to use the washing machine! :rotfl:

Thanks, we love all getting dressed up for nights ou, but if you saw us the next morning sometimes its not such a pretty sight! ;) I had never heard about anyone getting such a serious infection there either, my mum says all the nurses have been going home and checking their daughter for secret piercings!

$2 to the £1 would be shopping heaven, but your right maybe too dangerous for hauling our cases back onto the plane, DBF got so into the shopping, and said anytime we're in America he thinks we should stock up becase the quality and value of his t shirts was very good, never thought I'd find a BF who actually doesn't mind shopping!

The stripey top is from primark and the grey minnie hearts one is Dunnes, incase you fancy a wee sneaky purchase!

My DF is the same, he practically goes over with an empty suitcase and stocks up on tee's, shirts and jeans. He does better than me with the bargains!

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she gets better soon and am sending lots of hugs and pixie dust your way :goodvibes

You guys look so gorgeous in that picture btw :)

Ah bless DBF, what a great present. A friend of mine has the BBTorch and she is constantly on the thing  If you ever feel like a chat I have Ping! on my iPhone which enables chat with BBM and other IM's :)

Great choice of DVD, the Tudors is the best and a great way to pass the time cooped up in hospital. You should lend her some Disney movies too to cheer her up even more :goodvibes

I haven't workied out all my app's and stuff yet, my friend says I need 'app that' or something? I'd love to ping, you'll have to give me step by step instructions though! I'm still in shock that I have such a cool phone, I was reading your trip report in bed the other night and dreamed of you and Dave! weird weird! DBF is worried I'm getting too wrapped up in Disney stuff, when I'm dreaming about people's trip reports he may be right!

Thanks for all the kind wishes about my sister, she got home on Monday and has a pretty nasty hole in her stomach but is healing well!

Back to the trip...

We were almost back onto our plan, and although we didn't make the opening ceremony we were sailing under this beautiful arch at about 9.15

cathy-florida228.jpg

As we headed through the park, I could tell DBF was very impressed with the atmosphere and the theming of the park! we were in a very relaxed mood and headed towards one of my most eagerly anticipate rides, Expedition Everest!!! we picked up fastpasses and then jumped in line, we were moving through the queue buy about 9.50am

cathy-florida229.jpg

cathy-florida230.jpg

and out by about quarter past ten, so we didn't have long to wait at all, I was so excited showing DBF all the intricacies of the queueing area and we both LOVED the ride, it is so smooth and a great view of Disney!

as we walked over to Kilimanjaro Safari's I couldn't believe our luck when we walked straight into...Can you spot her???

Anyone else think Tyra Banks might have been doing some secret filming for America's next top model, I think DeVine looks really like her! I explained to DBF that some people spend their whole lives searching for this elusive camouflaged lady :lmao: and that we were incredibly luck to find her!!! he really enjoyed seeing her but was not as awe struck as I was!

I think we got on the truck about 10.33 and got back off at 11, I hadn't realised it was such a lenghty ride, although we enjoyed it, on this day once was enough for the Safari, it was starting to heat up!

Funny because DH spends most of his life (or at least time in AK) trying to AVOID DeVine and she somehow ALWAYS sneaks up on us!! She freaks him out. Haha!

I think Ping is just for the iPhone but it works with BBM and other IM's just not sure how. Maybe once you got your BBM up and running let me know your ID or whatnot and I will search for you on the app and see if that works :)

That is weird dreaming about us, but cute too :) Maybe it was a premonition of us meeting up in the future at WDW :teeth:

Glad your sister is back home and doing well, did she finish watching all the Tudors? Thats back on tomorrow, should be a good one :)

Looks like a great start to your AK day, great KS shots, esp the baby rhino shot :)

So glad that your sister is home and doing well.

Everest is one of my favorites! It's great when you can walk through the queue to see the intricate details, but not have to worry about waiting for too long.

I'm one of those people. In all of the years that I have been going to Disney, I have never gotten to see the elusive DeVine.

Wow, you are making some great timing this morning at AK!

That would be too funny if Tyra did an episode of dressing up as Devine!

I have ALWAYS wanted to see DeVine! Brad would be like your DBF if we ever did see her!

I've seen her nearly every trip to the park and still think its pretty cool and DBF was totally entranced...for about two minutes! :lmao: is it her sneakiness that weirds Tom out? or her spindly limbs?

Once I get up to speed with my blacbberry I'll PM you! my best friend is i phone and has been telling me to ping!

it would be too cool to run into you and Dave in Walt Disney World, but with DBF being tied to summer and you having the freedom to go in the nicer cooler quieter times it might be a while before we're there at the same time...maybe we've more hope of a London dismeet or maybe in the far future if you and Dave have any mini Disney fans that can't get 2 weeks out of school! :cutie:

she finished the tudors on Day 2, so will have to borrow, we both love the Phillippa Gregory novels so I'm looking forward to watching them!

Thanks, I was totally surprised by how much fun we had at AK!

The view on Everest is amazing! I love seeing AK from that high up!

The view is gorgeous, I would go on Everest 10 times in a row if I could, so smooth but thrilling too with all the Disney special-ness thrown in for good measure!:goodvibes

So glad that your sister is home and doing well.

Ooooh, I hope you catch Devine soon, I wonder how many tmes you've maybe passed within a few feet of her?!

I loved reading about the details in the hidden magic book and then remembering them when we passed through areas like the Everest queue, DBF wasn't as up for photo taking that morning as I was though, so I didn't take as many snaps as I would've liked!

My sister has just tried to convince my mum into letting her out for St Patrick's night celebrations with a still pretty deep wound in her stomach...crazy! :scared1:
!

Wow, you are making some great timing this morning at AK!

I Just think she's got Tyra's exact face! we didn't arrive as early as we'd hoped so we were surprised at how much we got done!

I hope you get to see De Vine soon, DBF just finds the weirdest things interesting and funny, his top moment of the holiday was in AK and it was over the most silliest thing!:rotfl:

so after Kilimanjaro Safari's we had a set of fastpasses in our pockets and we weren't entirely sure what we should go for next, because DBF had really enjoyed all our 3d shows so far we headed to 'It's tough to be a bug'...we took this photo around 11.24 and although there was a bit of a wait we were happy looking at the tree of life carvings and enjoying the coolness in the waiting area...

cathy-florida243.jpg

I hadn't been especially looking forward to this ride, although I'd experienced it before I had noted it more from the Unofficial Guide saying how scary it was for younger children (note: we found this to be very true!)

Anyways, from the moment we sat down and the show started DBF (and me too) just loved this show, the 3d effects were great and we both loved the water and air getting shot out at us!

BUT, when the moment came when the huge animatronic Hopper comes shooting out, three or four chilren who were sitting close to that area literally nearly had heart attacks, their screams were totally terrified and very heartfelt and I felt really bad for them and thought how accurate the Unofficial Guide had been, the screams spread through the audience as other kids panic'd and the I looked at DBF and he was...laughing...hysterically laughing...and kept laughing through getting poked by the stinger, actually that made him laugh even more!

By the time we got out into the daylight DBF had just about got his breath back and was saying things like 'did you see that wee wean (irish slang for child) jump out of their seat' or 'did you hear their screams, they were really terrified, ha ha ha!' :lmao: And then I started laughing at him laughing!

So a totally unexpected and a bit unorthodox but a magical moment for us all the same!

We then headed over to ride Dinosaur

cathy-florida245.jpg

We were queueing up by about 11.54 and think we had a fair wait for this ride, I was able to show DBF the pipes that I had read about in the hidden magic book, with the special formulae that actually mean ketchup and mustard! we both loved this ride, and I wish we had bought the ride photo as we both looked terrified in it!

Lunch was at Pizzafari and whilst I got a nice but kinda greasy pepperoni pizza DBF got a caesar salad! I can't really remember in what order but I know we were able to pick up Fastpasses for Dinosaur and Its tough to be a bug beofre we headed over to see Lion King. At one point we had 3 sets of fastpasses which I love, although I remember we had a bit too much backtracking to be pleasant!

cathy-florida250.jpg

After thoroughly enjoying the Lon King we then went back and used our three fastpasses, although we enjoyed Its tough to be a bug again, there were no such strong audience reactions and DBF claimed it wasn';t as good as the first terror inducing show! Here we are in front of our last ride of the day looking a bit worse for wear, but definitely happy!

cathy-florida251.jpg

After heading back to the car at about 4/5 o clock we had seen a lot but deffinitely missed a lot too (some of the trails, Nemo, primeval whirl) but we were needing an early night and wanted to get an early dinner.

We headed to chilli's n I-Drive and shared nacho's for a starter, we then split fajitas and sliders for our main, had a beautiul chocolate brownie dessert and DB has a couple o bud light and I got a strawberry Dacquiri...all for around $40! we were shocked because it was so good!

Back to the hotel and an early night for a very early rise and exciting morning ahead!
