The FP+ Gripe

I am talking about roll out, not the test. However, even those that are told they can double dip, are being told they will be given a card for it. They will not be using a regular ticket like non-testers, but a KTTW card. That is easy to do. We've had tickets demagnetize mid-day and we've been handed FP cards for that park, that day only more than once. Also, very easy not to link to a ticket (FP+ ability) after roll out.

I think after rollout, everyone will have both (RFID and magnetic strip) until full implementation has been achieved. THEN legacy FP kiosks will disappear. My *hope* is that once that happens, those who park hop or just want to stay in the park and have 60 min SB for everything would be able able to "pull" (schedule) day of passes.

Now, lets say I have 3 FP+ scheduled for Epcot in the afternoon, but we want to hit DHS in the morning: My *hope* is that I can enter DHS and get available FP while in the park - using the MDE system. (Remember, i'm in a different park than the one i scheduled FP+ in) Then, after a break, hop over to Epcot and use the FP+ that i scheduled ahead of time.

I think the issue here is going to be the lead time -- I think 60 days is too much. I wouldn't even have a problem with being able pre-book only one and then schedule more while in the park - up to whatever their pre-determined max amount of scheduled FP+ is at any given time.

So, let's say I pre-book Splash mountain the night before. Then, when I get to the park, I book a FP+ for Space and Peter Pan at a kiosk and ooooh BONUS! they offer me one for Pirates - cool!. Now, I can't get any more until I either
A) Use all of them
or
B) Use one of them leaving open a spot in the "maximum queue"

B would be the ultimate in PLUSSING My Disney Experience

I see two lines of thought when griping about FP+...

1. The people who don't want to be limited to 3 FPs and who are good at getting there at RD, getting FPs, and really maximizing their days at the parks. Totally legitimate complaint IMO.

2. With regards to planning....People like to plan, but the problem with FP+ is that you can't change your plans as much once you are there. Kid gets sick one day, can't really move those FPs to another day as easily. That kind of thing. Where with the old FP system, you could just move your days around, etc.

JMO!

This is me exactly! I don't like all the thrill rides, so I enjoy getting fp's for my family.

I love planning my vacations, but I always leave room for adjustment in case of weather, illness, etc. I love thinking of alternative plans (including totally rearranging the park we will visit on a particular day). But if I had to plan minute by minute :faint: and actually adhere to it, that would NOT be FUN to me and it doesn't make any sense.:confused3

And what if the ride you reserved FP is down - I hope they would give you a free pass for something else or for a different time on the same attraction....

(sorry - I didn't read all the way through the thread before posting this )

My "logic" statement was for the post-test real-use magic band MDE time. Double dipping will not be possible since the ticket info will only be linked to one media, either the magic band or the KTTW card (for those without magic bands since magic bands will be the new KTTW "card") or RFID card for annual passholders (who decline the magic band and are not staying at a WDW resort). No one will have 2 different ticket media to choose from (though the testers have that now during the test period). Phew! Being specific gets wordy. Also, RFID chips cannot be demagnetized so that old paper card problem disappears.

I can see a hybrid system similar to what another poster just said. Resort guests can reserve 1 or 2 FP+ up to 60 days for each park day in advance but can also get FPs when actually at the park using the current system updated with new RFID reader FP kiosks. This accomodates day guests, annual passholders, and multi-day vacationers staying off-site.

OK, I'm not sure I see your point. Or rather, not sure why you quoted me trying to be more specific. You've just repeated what I said. ??? You quoted me responding to someone else who said (basically), "but in tests". I was pointing out how in roll out/full blown implementation, I said it would be one or the other. I'm just confused here.

I wasn't contradicting you, just expanding on your statements, adding to the discussion. Maybe there is so much arguing on the boards that every time some one is quoted, they think they are being attacked. Not my intention, sorry if you perceived it as such.

No. Didn't feel attacked at all. I have a thick skin. I was seriously confused. Thinking I was missing something. But now I get it. :)
