The four princesses and a pirate PTR

I thought with all the other trip reports that were started ages ago it was about time I started mine.

Dates:
Monday 30th May – Friday 3rd June

Cast members:
Jothp's family – Jo (me), Olie and princesses Robyn 8, Harriet 5, Evie 3
and
Sparklemum's family – Suzie, Jon, princess Emily 8 and Pirate Matthew 5.

We are on our fourth visit whilst sparklemums family are newbies.

Where:
We are all staying at the Newport Bay.

We all have the half board plus vouchers but couldn't restrict ourself to just four table service meals so after lots of time spent drooling over menus we came up with this list.
Annettes
Buffalo Bills
Cafe Mickey
The steakhouse
One of the hotel buffets

Hi...I am starting to plan a 2012 trip to Paris Disneyland, late May into early June. Can I ask why you both commented it is the best week to go? I am also considering October.

I am also considering staying at Newport Bay Club.

Being more serious though this is half term week in the UK but it is low season at DLP because there are no school holidays that week in France. (This year is an exception with ascension day french bank holiday on the thursday).

Next year uk school holidays will be the week later starting on 4th June (something to do with the queens jubilee)

Sorry I don't want to highjack your trip report thread. I am a complete newbie when it comes to Europe and Disneyland Paris. So if I am thinking of going the week of May 27 (during the weekdays) I would avoid the school holidays?

There's no French school holidays that week but the 27th and 28th of May 2012 are public holidays so avoid them and you'll be fine

Well I was about to post day plans but then they went and cancelled the pirate and princess party so we had to make a few changes.

But finally I think we are all sorted

Monday
We will be up early for the Eurotunnel and the drive down to Paris. We are hoping to check in at the Newport Bay and make it into the Disneyland Park before lunch. Middle daughter suggested the carousel as our first ride because everybody can go on that. I think we will try to get fastpasses for BTM if we can and then eat cs lunch and ride the carousel followed by any rides without too long queues and at least one character meet. Later in the afternoon we plan on watching the parade and dinner at Annettes.

Tuesday
EMH this morning followed straight away by Autopia then any other rides etc that we feel like for the rest of the day. Lunch will be cs and then buffalo bills this evening

Wednesday
EMH again this morning but only one hour today We are heading to the studios this morning to get on the toy story playland rides and see the green army men Back to the disneyland park for lunch at the cowboy cookout then another afternoon to do whatever rides take our fancy. Later we have the princess and pirate meet and greet compensation for the cancelled party

Thursday
EMH again followed by a day in the studios watching shows and maybe the parade. Today we are doing both ts meals to avoid the crowds so it is the steakhouse for lunch followed by cafe mickey with a birthday cake for dinner. It is my dd's 6th birthday on Tuesday and Sparklemums ds's 6th birthday on Friday so they are sharing a cake

Friday
EMH again this morning then anything that is left we still wanted to do or just redoing favourites. Walts for lunch today and then an early dinner at McDs before heading back off for our Eurotunnel

I'm with you on everything there Jo! I think you've remembered the conversation over the BBQ yesterday very well. I can't quite believe the thing that ds is most excited about is dinner at McDonalds on his birthday

I see they've added the extra EMH hour for Wednesday morning. Now showing 8.00 - 10.00.

We are going 29th May to 3rd June so might see you there.

One thing I've been thinking about the Princess & Pirate compensation meet & greet. This will be held towards the end of our stay, & asension day is the next day so will be really busy. If they won't tell us which Princesses will be at the meet and greet how do we know which ones to queue for (or not waste our time queueing for) for the few days before.
I don't really want to spend over an hour in a queue to meet Rapunzel in the park then find I only have to queue a couple of minutes at the meet and greet

Also, how will any of the Princesses be at the meet and greet at 17.00 when the parade is also on at this time and they are in it?? Maybe they'll move the parade time on this day as I can't see them getting 2 lots of characters dressed up.

Hmmm, think I need to chill out a bit

I think we need to have a disboards badge (or Minnie ears???) or sopmething as I think there will be LOADS of us there, all doing the same things!

You'll DEFINATELY hear me and DD2 (DD1 is quieter usually ) before you see us! At least that way you'll get the chance to run!

Have been guaging the whole princess queing thing myself. BUT just found out that return flight has been rearranged so 4 more precious hours in Disneyland!!!! Think may celebrate by booking Auberge for last lunch now (as have time) in case princess queues have been too long!

Good news about the extra hour of EMH on Wednesday but I was thinking EMH in the studios would have been nice

For the princess and pirate meets I imagine they will have to have two lots of characters dressed up for the timings to work. We leave about 5pm on Friday so I think we will leave queueing for the princesses until after the meet and greet unless we find some with little/no queues
