December 15, 2004.. Day 5.. Freezing Cold Epcot
Cast.. DH
Me.. age 36
DS.. age 15
DS2.. age 11
We are from PA. We thought the "cold" in Florida was going to be a breeze, but we were freezing our butts off on this day.
We arrived at Epcot at 8am. I wasn't feeling so great. My ear hurt. The wind was blowing, and the breeze by the water in Epcot made it feel really, really cold.
There wasn't anything for DS2 and me to do until 9am. We didn't want to ride Test Track or Mission Space. We wanted to go to the Living Seas and see Crush, but Living Seas didn't open until 9am, and Crush at 10am.
DS2 and I waited inside a restaurant sipping hot cocoa until 9am. We all went to Living Seas. We enjoyed seeing the sea life and learning about them. Turtle Talk with Crush was awesome. Crush wanted to talk to DS2. He called on him my calling him the dude in the red dome (his red ballcap). DS2 mentioned DS. Crush tried to talk with him, but DS was "too cool" to talk back, so Crush made a face and a smart comment. We all laughed. There was on little boy who was in Pre K who wouldn't ask questions, but told Crush a lot of personal info about his family. This little boy went on and on. Everyone laughed. When Crush asked this boy what grade he was in, the boy said Pre K. Crush made a funny face and said he bets the teachers can't wait to get him in school. It was hysterical.
We then went to Innovations. Both boys loved this place. We stayed there until 11am. Then we ventured over to the World Showcase. What a great place. It started to warm up into the low 50s by the end of the day.
We watched several of the Santas and holiday speakers of the different lands. We watched a few shows. We liked the one in England where audience members got involved. What a funny show. DS loved exploring all around the countries looking for unique things. DS2 loved the Santas. We seemed to luck out again with the characters. A double decker bus pulled up behind us. Off the bus came Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Chip, Dale, Daisy, Rafiki, that gorilla from Tarzan, Goofy, etc. All were dressed in holiday outfits. There were hardly any other people in the area. There were maybe 5 other families there. We took this time to get lots of autographs and photos.
We ate lunch in America, but it was just standard fast food. I was feeling pretty bad at this point. My ear hurt terribly. I called my dr. at home and he had a prescription called in that was delivered to the resort. I get ear infections, and have had them all my life. With the stomach mass I found out about right before I left the doctor said better safe than sorry. I'm glad he gave me that medication because I was feeling much better later that following day.
We had dinner PS for Garden Grill and to see Candlelight Processional, but I was so sick by this time. I went back to the resort. They all stayed. DH said Garden Grill was tasty. The Processional he said was awesome. Illuminations was supposedly great, too. I fell asleep by 6pm that night. I didn't hear anyone come in. I was really sick.
I loved Epcot. I was at Epcot the first year it was opened, but now as an adult I appreciate it that much more. What a wonderful place.
My next report will be day 6.. MK, AK and DTD
