The Food Truck Park at DTD is now open

For the posters talking about the hygienic conditions and "roach coach" atmosphere. How is a food truck any different than the booths at the Food and Wine Festival other than one is on wheels? Same type of concept if you ask me. I am excited for our trip in Feb and will definitely be in line to try them.

NOT! I'm sure they will have the same sanitized mediocre menu found elsewhere at WDW. Nothing special nor great.

Well the Disney food trucks have been around for quite some time now and based on pictures I have seen they look pretty clean to me. The Disney trucks are not like regular food trucks.

I don't think the poster questioned if the trucks were clean, but implied (and rightfully so) that the food is generic, mediocre and sanitized (dumbed down) just like almost every restaurant on property.

Very few of the restaurants on property are bad, but very few are memorable for their food.

That's not the aspect of the truck that was talking about. Like J said,I was talking about the food being basically generic and not memorable like it is for most other food trucks in the nation. Don't know about where you live but in most areas food trucks have become "the new hot item" as far as food goes. They are all extremely clean, well-organized, reasonably priced and provide stellar food choices! Disney may be the same in the first two points but certainly isn't on the second two.

Ok sorry misunderstood I have not eaten from one of the Disney trucks so I can't speak for the food.

I've never had food from a food truck, but would love to try it.

I enjoy watching the "Food Court Wars" on the Food Channel with Tyler Florence, some of those truck chefs put out interesting and great looking food! :)

If these trucks are run by Disney, will they count as a counter service meal or snack credit if you're on the Dining Plan? Or will it be cash only?

And I don't see food trucks as being any different than the food kiosks in the parks, or the places at a mall food court.

THIS IS AWESOME!
Food Trucks are a big thing here in Austin TX area so it is fun to see these.

That said- Food Trucks can be expensive too!
I think we will hit one up while we are there.

Eating from a truck is no more gross than eating out of a drive-through window in your car :crazy2:

As others have mentioned, Disney should have made this a real food truck experience instead of just another outlet for Disney fast food. Allowing true local food trucks in would provide a unique experience for guests and allow members of the local food community to show their stuff to a large audience! As it is they provide nothing unique or different and really don't show off anyone's culinary expertise.

I agree with this.
The pics show that it is not really a Food Truck Park- but like 2 trucks.

I am so excited!

Food trucks are amazing! Gourmet, fine dining made cheaper and more convenient. They offer such great variety. Why would anyone complain about more food options?

You are referring to what food trucks normally are around the country. These are Disney food trucks. They will serve the same type of tame generic food like all the other Disney restaurants serve these days! Don't get your expectations up. :stir:

I actually think there are lots of great places to eat at WDW. Yes, there is your typical mediocre fare but there are exceptional offerings too, in my opinion. As for the food trucks, I suppose we won't know until we try them.

Agreed. There are certainly places that I do not care for at all (Peco's Bills!) :rolleyes1 Or almost everything at Hollywood Studios ..(Would REALLY like new options here)

But there are many that I enjoy. Far to many to list. Food, like many other things at Disney, is about the experience for me, just as much as the food itself.

I believe I would try something from one of the trucks. Wouldn't hurt to add some more "fast" options there in my opinion. :scratchin

We were quite excited about the food trucks! But unfortunately, the reality is not quite so great. There are 4 food trucks arranged in a circle. Most of the time it is 4 Disney trucks, themed to the different parks. But their selection is very minimal - only approx. 4-5 menu items per truck, and in our humble opinion, overpriced. Typical quick service type food, for $10-$15 per plate. One evening in December, we saw a "real" food truck, and its menu looked awesome! It had probably 20 items or more, and many of them looked delicious, and reasonable! We had just eaten, but thought we might come back another night, so we spoke with the operator of that truck to ask if they would continue to be there; she didn't know for sure. We are hoping that rotating in a real, local truck every week will be a regular occurrence!
