We are excited to give this restaurant a try. We are checking in AoA tomorrow to celebrate our anniversary pixiedust: and chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. I admit I am not big on fish. I know, I know. If am not big on fish, why on earth would we dine here. I wanted to try something new and we have heard wonderful hings. I also read they have steak, so I guess I can always go for that. For those of you who have gone, how is the ambiance like? What would you recommend? Thanks so much! :flower3:

Ambiance is noisy with close tables. Decor is whimsical. I would not pick for quiet anniversary dinner. I hope you get lucky and get a side table where it's a little quieter.

The food is pretty good; we have dined here many times. The cheese plate is very nice.

Steak is delicious...one of their signatures.
One of my must do's. Now they have both of their signatures on one plate....potato wrapped snapper and the steak combo:cool1:
Have a great trip
Kerri

My go to meal there are the mussels appetizer, scallops with risotto, and then either the cheese plate or whatever their dessert trio is that night. However, if the risotto happens to be pea risotto, which it frequently is (I'm not a fan of English peas:sick:), then I get the steak. It's really good. I really prefer the scallops with pumpkin and sage risotto:cloud9:, but also love the steak. It has a really good flavor.

Off topic: be sure to try to their cheese plate. I think they, California Grill, and Jiko have the best cheese plates on property.

Thank you so much everyone!! We are very excited and looking forward to the experience :thumbsup2

DH and I love this place, we normal eat late so on vacation is no different, so I always book, late ADR's and for us it seem to have less children, while tables are a bit close together, we have never had a problem, and if you can ask to sit on the windows along the side, that our favorite spot.

I love the potato wrap snapper, but I do not care for the side dishes that normally come along, last year, I asked and was granted the sides that came with the Filet. DH loves the Filet. I am not sure if they still offer the chocolate dessert with bacon, OMG...::yes::, super yummy.

After dinner, take a stroll around the board walk, very romantic. Happy anniversary pixiedust:

I had NEVER wanted to eat a mussel ever and I would have been fine if I never tried one in my life.:lmao: But some years ago dd and I sat up at the (semi) open kitchen counter at FF and we were chatting with one of the chefs who in turn, made us a mussel sampler and I felt obligated to try them, I was so apprehensive about it LOL! But, can I just say WOW was I in for a surprise!! They were amazing!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 FF has spoiled me rotten because not only did I love them but I have had them in many restaurants since and NONE can match the amazing mussel appetizer they have there! (I'll even have it as my entree with a salad and another app-lets just say I "crave" them sometimes-the sauce is remarkable!!

I've also had the salmon, my dh has had the steak, dd still sticks to kid's stuff. We've also had the snapper (their sig dish) and the scallops which are both good and some other items that have come and gone but I keep going back to the salmon and luckily they do change it up a bit. (I had it with a lentil stew which I didn't care for but they have changed it since).

Feel free to check out my review (with photos) of FF:
Our FF Dining Experience

Sorry to be negative, but our last two meals at FF have been horrible and they are off our list. Everything from lousy handling of seating to meals that fail to impress. Our last dinner, earlier this March, was $190 for three people and none of us were happy. Don't know what has happened, we have had good to great experiences in the past.

Enjoy!! We love FF and eat here every trip. The food is great and the service is the best (consistently) that we've experienced on Disney property so far.

I have had the pork twice and it's great. I also love the mac n' cheese here. Delish!
