*ThE FiVe LeGgEd GoAt VaCaTiOn GIRLS ONLY TRIP! *8/27*THE END*

Hi fellow Michiganders -- I'm from Bloomfield Hills here! Such a small world; I'm surprised at the amount of MI Disers as well!!

Just chiming in to say I'm enjoying your TR very much! GOOD LUCK with the college program Caitlin - I graduated from Michigan State in '08 and really considered doing it and regret that I didn't go for it:headache:

HAPPY 4th EVERYONE!!!

:wave2: Hi! It's great to hear from another Michigan Disser! :)

So glad to hear you're enjoying our TR!

I see you're beating us back to WDW by about a week?
Hope you had a great 4th! We sure had a beautiful weekend!

Lovely picture for the 4th.:thumbsup2

Thank you Mary Ellen! That was from our trip last September. Dale kept trying to get the flag billowing and everytime he'd snap the picture the flag would drop

After we finished up shopping around the world it was my turn to get some revenge for being blamed for the battery dying on the ECV the day before.:rolleyes1 We headed over to Club Cool and of course I sweetly asked my grandma to try the Beverly!

Look at that face! I cracked up! I am pretty sure she fell for the trick on our December trip in 2008 but it was still just as funny as it was the first time! After drinking some of the different sodas we headed out to the Tinkerbell garden. I don’t know where I was during this but I have no recollection of any of this!:confused3

I guess Mom and Grandma didn’t go inside the Butterfly House because it was too crowded so we moved on to Test Track.

On our way to Test Track we ran into the Princess Tiana garden. I thought it was cute! I have heard a lot of complaints about there not being any topiaries in it but I thought it was a cute garden I loved the bottles hanging from the tree branches!

Grandma didn’t want to go on TT so she sat out while my mom and I rode. The FP line was 20 minutes long while the regular line was a 100 minutes long!

momsdispics320-1.jpg

I was making a face because the average 13 year old girl is supposed to be taller than me :(

We both had a good time and I always enjoy going through the different weather testing rooms!

We walked outside to find Grandma and she was nowhere to be seen! My mom and I looked at each other and pulled out our cell phones to try calling and texting her of course we got no reply. I am not sure how long it took us but we got a response from her and told her we were headed over to the Land and that we were going to grab a snack.

momsdispics328-2.jpg

From the DIS we have heard amazing things about the Sunshine Seasons desserts so that’s where we headed! My mom got the Strawberry Shortcake which she loved and can’t wait to have another one next month!

disneymypictures723.jpg

I got the Key Lime Pie which was also very good but I plan on having the Strawberry Shortcake when we go back!

disneymypictures724.jpg

From earlier in the day we had two FPs for Soarin’ well my grandma was still nowhere to be found so my mom said she would ride it with me. I told her it wasn’t that bad and she would be fine.

momsdispics329-2.jpg

Well boy was I wrong! Mom kept her eyes shut the entire ride and was clutching onto my arm and the other seat arm. We were in the 3rd row so I figured it would be easier on her but it wasn’t. She stumbled off the ride like someone who had been having a little too much fun at the Grey Goose Slushie cart and gave me the evil eye the entire time. :headache:I felt bad but her reaction was quite funny. She didn’t get to experience any of the smells or anything but at least she can say she rode it!

We met up with Grandma outside of the ride and she wanted a snack so while she got something Mom and I rode Living with the Land. I like this ride. I think it is a nice way to kick back and relax for a little and it gave Mom plenty of time to recuperate from her adventure.

We weren’t sure what we were going to do after the park so we discussed it on our way to Figment. I have always loved this ride! I think Figment is adorable and I don’t care how cheesy it is but every time we ride it I always laugh and have a huge smile on my face.

When we walked out we had come to a decision to go back to the hotel it was around 5:30 so we figured we could either go to the Poly and watch Wishes from there or just go back to the room and relax.

If only it were that easy. I believe we have discussed the difficulty Grandma had boarding buses…. None of that compared to this night…. There was a pretty big line up at the bus stop and we arrived the same time the bus did. Grandma was ushered to the front so she could board. We didn’t feel right getting on before all of these people so we took a spot in the back (Mom believes this is pivotal to the story because before this we had never seen anyone’s reaction to Grandma boarding). Well this bus had one of the elevator lifts on it and Grandma had to board the lift backward… Yeah she had to keep driving forward than back for a good 10 minutes before she finally got on the lift. The crowd was getting restless and had been groaning and giving her directions the entire time. They were especially upset when she would finally be lined up perfectly then would move over somehow and have to reset herself all over again. So Grandma is on the bus now we know how bad she is at parallel parking the ECV and the bus driver insists she does it herself. Back forth Back forth Groan Groan Mumble Groan. Mom and I felt horrible these people were commenting on how bad she was driving the ECV and their patience was wearing thin. We were terrified of a revolt from these people that had been waiting in line! We were both so embarrassed by the time Grandma finally boarded the bus that we had our head downs:guilty: and were hoping nobody would attack us on the way to POP.

We mentioned to Grandma that she may want to practice parallel parking before she went to bed but of course by the time we got to the room it was 7 and she went straight to bed. Mom and I decided to have a little fun of our own and had a joy ride to the POP food court on the ECV!

disneymypictures771.jpg

Mom was sitting in the seat and I sat on her lap and maneuvered the ECV.We had a blast riding that thing around POP! We couldn’t understand how Grandma could go so slow on it when with both Mom and I on it we went way faster than she did! We grabbed some amazing nachos from the food court and ate and talked about our trip. After we ate, I took the long way back to our room and explored more of POP! We only had one wipe out, when we hit a bump and our mugs went flying, but besides that we drove well. People also had fun watching us yelling “watch out” and “here comes the hell’s angels”. Out of all of the nights during the trip this was the most fun we had!
After our exciting joy ride, we hit the sack around 9. I was beat after my long day without a nap!

Another way to enjoy the World at Epcot

Sounds like a fun end to the day.
Good way to get out the frustrations - an ECV drag race! :lmao:

Soarin'? Really?
Even Stacey can do that one with no troubles.
What exactly got to you about it?

As for Figment, did Caitlin ever ride the original Imagination and meet Dreamfinder?
It's not that the new ride is awful, I think the problem is that the Dreamfinder version is just that much better.

And I love the Beverly trick!
I got the kids last time around.
Next time, we get to trick X for his 4th birthday!! ;)

How funny, I just updated my TR with almost the same info. haha. I mentioned Figment, the strawberry shortcake, living with the land, and the butterfly tent. Too funny. Loved hearing about your nighttime escapades on the ECV!:thumbsup2 By the way - my guess was for Soarin' so it looks like I was right on! Too bad I didn't mention that in an earlier comment.

Aw, so sorry Dawn didn't enjoy Soarin! Sounds like it turned out to be a fun evening though.

Caitlin, the look on your face is so ornery! Your poor grandmother... :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Yum! DH and I shared one back in December because I had read so much about it on here. It was so good! :thumbsup2

She stumbled off the ride like someone who had been having a little too much fun at the Grey Goose Slushie cart and gave me the evil eye the entire time. :headache:

Poor Dawn... I do believe I guessed Soarin'... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I feel for Grandma; I get very stressed under pressure, especially when others are watching and waiting. :headache:

You guys are too funny! I would have been afraid someone would question why I was using it. I'm such a worrywart...

Out of all of the nights during the trip this was the most fun we had!

Ok, I don't know if that's hilarious or sad. :sad2: :rotfl:

Your poor mother - I can sympathize with her about Soarin' - I rode it last summer when we went and had been so looking forward to it - I am a little bit afraid of heights but I think part of it had to do with our seats, we were on the bottom row last two seats on the outside on the left - from there the screen was slightly distorted (you could see the curve on the screen) and somehow this was a little disorienting to me. (I love all the other rides, the coasters in MK, test track, etc., but this one made me dizzy.) I will try it again next year, but I will ask for a seat closer to the center. Not sure if this makes any difference of if it is just me.:confused3

We had a blast on the ECV!

Soarin was absolutely horrible for me  I knew I was going to be in trouble before we ever boarded too. When the video monitors started showing the clouds and logo moving I was already getting dizzy. I can handle flying on a real plane because you don't feel it or see it. However, any movies or rides that simulate flying make me feel very dizzy and sick. I thought I would be fine if I just closed my eyes but since the ride moves it was very disorienting and didn't really help. I honestly could not wait for that ride to end! When we got off my head hurt and my legs felt like jello :sad2:

I'm not sure when they changed Imagination? I do know we've ridden that every visit since her first at 2 so I would assume she saw the original. We never did see the characters in the park though. (her favorite when she was little was Food Rocks! I remember her at 2 singing the old "veggie, veggie, fruit fruit" )

Poor X

I read your update right before Caitlin's and laughed at the similarities :goodvibes

We honestly had a blast on that ECV. Tensions were really running high after grandma got mad we "lost" her and then with the crowd at the bus. Joy riding the ecv was exactly what we needed for a good laugh!

Soarin was torture to me which probably puts me in the running for wimpiest disser :rotfl:

I was sorry too I felt so bad that I talked her into riding it and then she felt so sick!

I look up to no good in that picture

I couldn't believe how upset everyone was getting! Luckily she didn't seem to notice the other people and was caught up in the frustration of maneuvering the ECV.

You guys are too funny! I would have been afraid someone would question why I was using it. I'm such a worrywart...

I am usually a worry wart but we figured why not! We both didn't feel like walking all the way to the main building and it ended up being a lot of fun!

Ok, I don't know if that's hilarious or sad. :sad2: :rotfl:
I think it's a good thing we don't usually do crazy things like that so it was definitely memorable!

Not sure if this makes any difference of if it is just me.:confused3

I figured she would be okay if we sat in the third row and just watched bits of it but once we got going it seemed nothing would help. I think not warning her about how high up it was might not of helped

Great update! Love that you got grandma to try the beverly....I would do that too:lmao:

Your poor mom....if I'm not right in the centre of the ride I can get a little motion awareness I like to call it:rolleyes1

I always feel so bad when people in the lines get mad at the people on the scooters! What makes me crazy is when 20 family members try and get on with them:rotfl2:

Hehe yeah how could I resist?!

I know I felt terrible and I think it took her a while to forgive me for making her ride it

I could understand why the people were mad because it did take a while but I didn't realize how mad people could get! That is exactly why my mom and I got in line behind everyone! We tried to not annoy anyone

Thanks! The desserts were very yummy! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry to report that Remy doesn't talk. He danced and nodded in response to our question.

I noticed your ticker! Hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

First time on here in forever it feels like!! Curious what my ticker will say now that the trip is over.
We had fun but boy was it hot hot hot!! My 14 yr old is doing a TR soon, she talked about it the whole trip!! I will tell her to get on it. We had several interesting things happen so choosing the title will be interesting. lol
Now to catch up on your TR and see what I missed!!

Ok Im caught up. My ticker says I am going back in 11 months....hmm wasn't aware of that! Maybe that is how Disney subliminally tricks me into going so much!
Poor you on the Soarin ride!! I felt sick last year when I went on it, but this trip I was ok afterwards. I did however feel terrible after BTMR and Space Mountain. 1st time for me on both of those and seriously never again! The CM at the entrance of SM said it was a nice slow ride. Yeah ok.....
I get sick on everything but I wanted to try some new stuff.
Love all the topiaries, there were hardly any at Epcot this time. We usually go for the F&G festival, so I missed them. There weren't any flowers either, just lots of greenery. Really weird. My girls kept commenting on the lack of flowers.

Great updates!

I knew it was going to be a mistake as soon as those video monitors came on during the pre-show. I didn't want to get out of line though since I felt bad Caitlin had already done so many rides solo. It's not something I'll do again though

You rode Space Mountain?! I remember riding it when I was about 12 and thinking I was going to get sick and just praying my lunch stayed down :rotfl2:

I know what you mean about the flowers! When we went in Sept for Food and Wine I really missed them!

Let us know when your daughter's TR begins! :) Glad you're back on the Dis!

:rotfl: That picture of your grandma's reaction to the Beverly is hilarious. I think your face might be even funnier though because you knew what was coming. Love it!

Bummer your mom didn't like Soarin. That's one of my favorites. And Figment is awesome. :thumbsup2

I know I didn't realize how evil the look on my face was until I saw that picture

Yeah I felt bad but I am glad she tried it.

I wish they had a Figment that you could meet in the park that would be cool!
