With the start of the NFL season goes the start of the Fantasy Football season...and this year, thanks to Sir-Mickey even the DISboards are not immune from the draw of pretending that you actually own multi-million dollar players (without having to pay their salaries!)

Because of the response, communications issues, etc. we've actually formed two "leagues", which we are calling conferences: The Magic Kingdom Conference and the EPCOT Center Conference. To keep the conferences with an even number of teams, a few owners are doing duty in both leagues. You can follow each league through the links below. Here are the team names, in the order they drafted. Team names subject to change:

Magic Kingdom Conference

Team Fellure (Fatphil32)
Country Bears (aaronmckie)
Team magic nights (lawsonsontour)
Pleasure Island Adventurers (doconeill)
DISenfranchised Ducks (BostonRob)
Team Grumpy (Mr. Grumpus)
Boardwalk Buskers (shaq_d)
Disney Dole Whips (DSWalczak)
Carousel of Doom (flyingcat2003)
Intergalactic Space Rangers (Paging Tom Morrow)
DIS Pluto's Revenge (Splat25)
Plutes Cowboys (Mr. Plutes)

EPCOT Center Conference

Mushu Maniacs (Alztybrn)
Philly Bawbcats (disneydaveb)
Caribbean Pirates (Sir-Mickey)
Thunder Mountain (klam_chowder)
Reedy Creek Smoke Eaters (DH of newtodis)
Stinky Pete (georgemoe)
Liberty Tree Touchdowns (Paging Tom Morrow)
Wheezy's Warriors (Twheezy)
Team Cool (Takodacaleb)
Brother Bears (aaronmckie)
Disney Chiefs (Janitor Beans)
Jungle Cruise Skippers (doconeill)

Each conference will have a winner after week 16, and those teams will compete in week 17 for the league championship.

Good luck to all! I will try and keep this thread up to date...

I may be on the bottom now, but by week 17, I'll (hopefully) be on top! :thumbsup2

Good luck everyone...game on!!

Are you going to post a link to the league so we can stalk your teams directly?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to PM you before the deadline - I was away on business for a while. Maybe I'll hop in to next year's league! Until then - I'll be following along.

[Here is a writeup about the Week 1 - which had to be the most frustrating week ever in fantasy football, not to mention te tree that fell on my house (minimal damage fortunately) at 3am Sunday morning, which made it difficult to actually pay attention to football...]

Week 1 is tough enough...everyone drafts players based on expectations
and projections based on past performance, but there are many variables,
and its tough to put a team together that does well.

It's even tougher when stud players get injured early and often in the
first game. Aside from the obvious Tom Brady situation, the injury
report looked horrible - three starting QBs injured enough to miss
multiple games, thumb and toe injuries requiring surgery, concussions,
and an ever-increasing Injured Reserve list. There is talk of
third-string quarterbacks getting playing time.

Add all that to the normal mental anguish of figuring out if the rookies
you drafted in the late rounds who outscored your veteran studs while
sitting on your bench were a freak occurrence or a sign of second coming
of Adrian Peterson.

It will be interesting to see what free agency claims occur tomorrow.

As for the results of Week 1, some notes:

We had a last minute substitution - Takodacaleb had to drop out at the
last minute, so I had to scramble and got a friend of mine (and fellow
Disney fan) Larry King to take a team that was autodrafted (and still
got more points than 8 other teams this week).

High Points for the week in the Magic Kingdom Conference went to
Carousel of Doom (flyingcat2003) with no serious competition with a
whopping 120 points thanks to a great all-around and almost perfect
lineup - only one bench player would have increased his points, and only
by 5...

In the EPCOT Center Conference, Mushu Maniacs (Alztybrn) got 108 points
mostly on the shoulders of Donovan McNabb but helped by rookie RB Matt
Forte and WR Hines Ward, who just beat out Brother Bears (aaronmckie)
who had 107. Who would of thought Chad Pennington would have been a
better start than Brett Favre?

Low points for the week went to our (declared) rookies, MKC Team Magic
Knights (36) (lawsonsontour), who can be forgiven since he is not only a
rookie, but also from the U.K. where the football is round and everyone
is a running back; and ECC Thunder Mountain (34) (klam_chowder), who is
still looking for his jawbone, having drafted Tom Brady. Carry the
banners with pride boys - remember its a long season.

As such, no one gets the Rookie Fodder awards for losing to a rookie.
And also no one beat our resident expert, Paging Tom Morrow (doing duty
in both leagues), so the Dragonslayer awards will wait another week,
along with any potential embarrassment for him...if only I had played
the right rookie RB... :)

The Benchwarmer award for the MKC goes to Team Grumpy (The Grumpus), who
not only suffered from Tom Brady's injury, but also leaving Michael
Turner on the bench when he turned in a 34 point performance, although
even if he had been played instead of Laurence Maroney (5 points),
Grumpy would have still been 4 points short of beating Carousel of Doom
for the week. He would have also had to start Derek Anderson in place of
Tom Brady, and who in their right mind would have ever done that?

No one in the ECC gets the Benchwarmer this week (Michael Turner started
for the Disney Chiefs (Janitor Beans), and no other bench player came
close to that many points).

A quick rundown of the match results, and then the standings for each
conference (I don't think the DISboards will let me format this well, so
sorry for it - a more nicely formatted scoreboard is available on the
league pages: MKC and ECC)

Bumps and bruises this week, but no devastating losses to fantasy franchises...but this week shows that those who play good one week can vanish the next week. And lots of people soliciting trades...it's going to be a long season.

In the MK Conference this week, high points went to Boardwalk Buskers (shaq_d) with a whopping 130, setting a new league record, on the back of Ed Hochuli-er, I mean Jay Cutler (30), plus an almost unheard of 18 points from kicker Ryan Longwell.

Low points went to Country Bears (aaronmckie) with 68, and no one really deserved a Benchwarmer award this week. DIS Pluto's Revenge (Splat25) narrowly avoided getting a Rookie Fodder award this week, beating Team magic knights (lawsonsontour) by a mere point, 71-70.

For the EC Conference, things were a bit more interesting. High points was less clear going in to Monday night's game, until Marion Barber ran away with the ball and 23 points to give Brother Bears (aaronmckie) 116 total. That has to be some award - getting High AND Low Points in the same week...

Low points this week went to Disney Chiefs (Janitor Beans) with a respectable 75. The Bench Warmer award goes to (and volunteered) last week's High Points winner Mushu Maniacs (Alztybrn), for leaving 79 points on the bench while scoring 85, and if it wasn't for McNabb probably his bench would have beat his starters. Darren Sproles, RB for the Chargers, had as many points as all three starting RBs for the Maniacs. But I don't know anybody who would have started him.

Mushu Maniacs also have the distinction of the first Rookie Fodder award! The Maniacs were taken down by Thunder Mountain (klam_chowder), 88-85. Good ol' Matt Cassel!

We almost had our first DragonSlayer award as well, with Dark Helmet's Minions beating Liberty Tree Touchdowns (Paging Tom Morrow) 93-76 (even though I got a call Sunday morning from Dark Helmet saying how much trouble he was in, only just learning about the BAL-HOU game being postponed and having two starters not playing). 3 more points to reach the award level...

Rather than recap the standings in a horrible format which can be seen on the web sites (see previous posts for links), the unbeaten teams remaining are:

MKC:
Boardwalk Buskers
Intergalatic Space Rangers
Team Fellure
Plutes Cowboys

ECC:
Brother Bears
Caribbean Pirates

While everyone realizes half their team is on bye this coming week and struggles with their lineups, here is the Week 3 Recap...

Congratulations to Disney Dole Whips (DSWalczak) (MKC, 124 points) and Brother Bears (aaronmckie) (ECC, 121 points) for the high scores this week. Brother Bears has taken that honor two weeks in a row, AND did it against our resident expert's Liberty Tree Touchdowns (Paging Tom Morrow), who have now lost two in a row in the ECC.

Paging Tom Morrow still cruises along in the MKC though with his undefeated Intergalatic Space Rangers, sharing that honor with Boardwalk Buskers (shaq_d), while Brother Bears and Caribbean Pirates (Sir-Mickey) remain undefeated in the ECC.

At the bottom end of the scale is Plutes Cowboys (Mr. Plutes) (MKC, 44 points) and Philly Soarin (disneydaveb) (ECC, 48 points).

This week we have TWO Rookie Fodder awards! In the MKC, Team magic knights (lawsonsontour) beat Team Fellure (Fatphil32) for his first win of the season, with a quite good 108 points (against 73), and a candidate for Owner Of The Year for putting in Ronnie Brown before the long flight from the U.K. to Disney last week! We'll see if he makes it to a computer to adjust his roster this week though... :) No Ronnie Brown Show this weekend, since Miami is on a Bye week...

In the ECC, Stinky Pete (georgemoe) fell to Thunder Mountain (klam_chowder) 88-75, giving the rookie his second win in three matches.

Also in the ECC, the Bench Warmer award has to go to Philly Soarin, who watched Ronnie Brown play Pop Warner trick plays over, and over, and over, and over, and over (against the Patriots no less), while sitting him on the bench. Plug Brown in for Adrian Peterson, and not only would disneydaveb have avoided having low points, but would have won by a point...

Back to the Bye Week Scramble, while yours truly finds a way to salvage a pair of 1-2 teams...

So it seems that head coaches are now starting to drop as fast as starting QBs this week...week 5 could be very interesting as we try and guess who will actually play this week. Week 4 had several last minute scratches, two of the most prominant ones (Carson Palmer and Brian Westbrook) hitting our U.K. owner, who was on vacation in Disney and couldn't adjust his roster.

In the meantime, both conferences saw one of the undefeated teams go down, leaving just one each - Boardwalk Buskers (shaq_d) and Brother Bears (aaronmckie)...we'll see if they can continue...

If you want to see details of scores and standings, check out the links in my signature.

In the Magic Kingdom Conference, high score for the week went to Boardwalk Buskers (shaq_d) for the second time, but with a mere 98 points this week, but good enough for the win and to stay undefeated. Low score alas goes to Team magic knights (lawsonsontour) with just 20 points, but that was with 5 players either scratched or on bye week, while he is languishing down in Disney without an Internet connection. :)

And I have to give the Bench Warmer award to myself...not for just one player, but for benching Drew Brees (24) in favor of J.T. O'Sullivan (10), Laveranues Coles (28) vs. Chansi Stuckey (1) and the Bucs D/ST (17) vs. the Ravens (17). Just Coles alone would have resulted in a tie.

Over in the EPCOT Center Conference, high score went to Stinky Pete (georgemoe) with 129 points, dethroning the two-week points champ Brother Bears, with a paltry 73 points - despite the Bears have the Brett Favre QB Clinic playing.

The Brother Bears were in the battle of the Undefeateds, and did still manage a win to be alone at the top of the leaderboard. It helped that it was against our Low Points winner, Caribbean Pirates (Sir-Mickey), who scraped together a mere 35 points, and gets the double whammy of the Bench Warmer award, for not only having Laveranues Coles (28) on the bench, but with Ben Roethlisberger and Justin Gage (both with 9), his bench outscored his starters 46-35.

On to week 5. I'm getting out some dice and roll for my starters this week. They'd probably do a better job.

After spending Week 5 at WDW, watching my teams underperform as usual on my mobile phone and wishing Disney resorts carried TBS so I could watch the Red Sox (instead watching a few innings at the rowdy ESPN Club), I'm back to recap Week 5...

There is only one undefeated team remaining, with Brother Bears in the ECC losing out to Mushu Maniacs (who tied for the ECC's high score this week with Wheezy's Warriors, with 104 points). Boardwalk Buskers in the MKC remain alone in the X-and-0 club...

MKC's High Points goes to the Intergalactic Space Rangers with a mere 100 points. Team Fellure took the Low Points award with only 50, one point below the DISenfranchised Ducks - who gets the MKC's Benchwarmer award this week for having DeAngelo Williams 32 points on the bench while 3 Bye players were on the active roster - that alone would have given him the win over Carousel of Doom.

Over in the ECC, Low Points went to Thunder Mountain, who scraped up a mere 29 points - and only had another 29 points on the bench - and that with no players on a bye week. Having the Bills defense didn't help with -7 points.

I can see looking around both conferences that the Bye weeks are catching some teams off guard. Alas, I can't use that excuse for my MKC team...

Darn bye week for the Jets... Favre was just getting hot!
Oh well, can't complain too much, both my teams are 4-1 :yay:

Boy was I happy I sat Ben last week LOL. He had 22 points. He hasn't done that for the whole season.

Boy was I happy I sat Ben last week LOL. He had 22 points. He hasn't done that for the whole season.

Yeah, hate to get too many of those nasty points. Fortunately I seem to have solved that with my MKC team... :)

I can't even figure out what my team needs any more...

With Tony Romo missing several weeks, and Jon Kitna missing the rest of the season, the pool of quality QBs gets smaller and smaller. It seems as if half of them have wound up injured, so I did a little research. Of the 32 presumtive starters at the beginning of the season (not including Favre and Pennington), 10 of them are no longer starting or at least missed or will miss more than a game, and 5 of them in the top 12, which means it more than likely directly affected 5 of the 12 teams in each conference. Ouch.

At this rate, I expect to start hearing that Culpepper, Testaverde, and even Doug Flutie get signed, and even need to be considered for starting slots.

This also tends to devalue Wide Receivers, if you don't have anyone to reliably throw the ball. And you never really count on your tight ends, kickers and defense for numbers, so who is left? Running backs? Could it be the return of RB-heavy fantasy football?

Except, here is the top 5 RBs prior to the season, and their ailment of any:

1) Ladanian Tomlinson (turf toe)
2) Adrian Peterson (hamstring)
3) Joseph Addai (hamstring)
4) Steven Jackson (groin, and Rams. 'nuff said)
5) Brian Westbrook (ribs and ankle)

All were underperforming except Westbrook, but he's likely to miss at least a game. Sigh. Hey Paul, is there Fantasy Premiere League? I think its time to try something less stressful.

Anyways, the last undefeated team went down this week, with the Boardwalk Buskers being taken down by Team Fellure, 92-85 in the Magic Kingdom Conference. This leaves the Buskers tied with the Intergalactic Space Rangers at 5-1 for the lead. Brother Bears in the EPCOT Center Conference currently stands alone on top at 5-1, after Mushu Maniacs dropped to 4-2 losing to the Liberty Tree Touchdowns 106-92.

On to the weekly awards:

In the Magic Kingdom Conference, the Disney Dole Whips won High Points for the second time with 126 points - 34 points higher than the next highest. Low Points went to yours truly and the Pleasure Island Adventurers, with a paltry 62 - but I was not alone - 5 teams scored between 63-65 points.

Carousel of Doom managed to get the Rookie Fodder award this week, losing to Team magic nights 71-65. CoD's manager flyingcat2003 also nominated himself for the Benchwarmer award for playing Jason Campbell (9) instead of Peyton Manning (22), but that award seems more fitting for Team Grumpy, who's bench outscored his actives, 71-63.

In the ECC, Brother Bears took High Points with 108 (and the third time they take the honor), while BOTH Thunder Mountain and Disney Chiefs takes Low with 56. Chiefs also get the Bench Warmer award for not playing Peyton Manning (22 points), but the difference here is that instead of Manning the active QB Brian Griese, who was declared the emergency third QB for the game and got 0 points, more than enough of a difference to win the match.

One last note...how often does this happen? Yours truly, in both leagues, has a lead in each league - 19 points in one, 22 in the other. No players left, but both opponents have one player left - the same one. Philip Rivers, who is up against the Patriots defense. Sounds like an OK position, right? Uh...Belichek, can you let me know where they REAL Pats D went?

Welcome to the Schizophrenic Football League...

The real Patriots played this week, but someone hid the Broncos. Yet it
still cost the Pats their starting safety and team leader Rodney
Harrison for the season, and possibly his career. That's after Lawrence
Maroney was placed on IR, and Sammy Morris' knee condition is still
unknown. These wins are getting expensive.

The Rams are in second place in the NFC West. That's with a 2-4 record.

The Texans ran roughshod over the Lions. Too bad their defense allowed
the Lions to make a game of it. They must have though the offense needed
more incentives.

The Colts are 3 and 3 - and 3 games behind the undefeated Titans.

The Chiefs got Brody Croyle back - to lose him for the season. And Larry
Johnson is making a lot of friends among the National Organization for
Women, and racking up a lot of reasons to get suspended - again.

Three head coaches have been fired - and its only week 7.

I'm pretty convinced the only teams that will NOT make it to the Super
Bowl are the Lions and Bengals, because even given this season these
teams have failed. The Chiefs and Seahawks are only marginally better
right now, but at least they've tasted victory.

Oh, but this is Fantasy Football, where all our players do outstanding
and score points, right?

Over in the MKC, High Points go to Carousel of Doom for the second time
with 104 points, taking down league leader Boardwalk Buskers (93), and
beating the Intergalactic Space Rangers for the honor by a point.

Low Points went to Plutes Cowboys, losing to the Pleasure Island
Adventurers 86-44, while his bench scored 55 points. Problem was, most
of those points were by QBs, so even using the best possibly players
wouldn't have mattered much.

The Rookie Fodder award goes to Team Grumpy, losing in a close contest
to Team magic knights 71-69, giving the Knights their 2nd win in a row
and third overall. Three teams are behind the MKC rookie from the U.K...

Even though Country Bears beat the Disney Dole Whips 77-59, the
Benchwarmer award still has to go to the Bears for playing DeShaun
Foster (0 points), who as scored 2 points all season, instead of LenDale
White, who ran for 149 yards and 3TDs for 32 points. That would have
taken High Score for the week.

Standings-wide, the Intergalatic Space Rangers are now alone at the top
at 6-1, with Boardwalk Buskers and Country Bears a game behind.

Over in the Golf Ball Conference, I mean EPCOT Center, High Points goes
to Dark Helmet's Minions, taking down Thunder Mountain 104-60. Low
Points was a tie - Carribean Pirates lost to Jungle Cruise Skippers
85-57, while Disney Chiefs lost to Reedy Creek Smoke Eaters, 86-57
(almost a double-double score!).

Although it wasn't enough to earn the Dragonslayer award, Stinky Pete
managed to take down expert team Liberty Tree Touchdowns, 73-72. Mewelde
Moore (31 points) wasn't such a bad pickup...

Brother Bears now owns the top of the league at 6-1, with a 2 game lead.
Then it's a 6-way tie for second... :)

It was an exciting week this week, with Liverpool going up against rival Chelsea, who hadn't lost at home in 86 games, and came out with a win to sit atop the Premiere League, while perennial powerhouse Manchester United finds themselves 3 games back. In the meantime, the war of words between ManU manager Sir Alex Ferguson and FIFA president Sepp Blatter took another turn with Ferguson calling Blatter "too old", after the latter calling Ferguson's unwillingness to trade disgruntled star Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid as "modern slavery".

Tottenham Hotspur, languishing with only a single win in 9 games, announced that Harry Redknapp would replace Juande Ramos as manager, after the latter was sacked on Saturday.

Oops...wrong football. Well, sort of. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Maybe it's not all that different...

The more you try and figure out this season, the more your head hurts. The Patriots, without Tom Brady this season except the first 453 seconds and beset by all sort of injuries, are tied for first, while Peyton Place has burned to the ground, the Colts 4 games behind the undefeated Titans. Kurt Warner is the #1 QB available this week. The Giants have a KICKER controversy. And its starting to be more common to try and figure out who is or isn't playing due to suspension, rather than injury.

Things are a little more straight forward in Fantasy Football, at least results wise.

In the MKC, the resident expert team Intergalatic Space Rangers seem to be starting their dominance atop the league at 7-1, with Boardwalk Buskers in second at 6-2. The Rangers took high points this week with 120 point as well - 25 points higher than the next team in a dismal scoring week.

Low points went to Plutes Cowboys for the second week in a row, with 40, who also gets the Rookie Fodder award as Team Magic Knights (87) continue riding the Rookie Rocket with their 3rd win in a row and 4th overall, moving into 6th place and on the bubble for the playoffs.

Over in the ECC, Brother Bears continue to sit atop the conference at 7-1, narrowly beating rookie Thunder Mountain 84-83. Looking up from second is a 4 way tie of Reedy Creek Smoke Eaters, Liberty Tree Touchdowns, Mushu Maniacs and Wheezy's Warriors, all at 5-3.

High points go to the Warriors with 108, edging out last week's winner Dark Helmet's Minions at 104. Low points went to the Warriors opponent this week, Stinky Pete, with 45.

I can't decide on the Benchwarmer award - there are two candidates: Caribbean Pirates played the 49ers DST (-3 points) instead of the Titans (an unbelievable 21) - a 24 point swing that would have taken down the Touchdowns. In the meantime, rookie team Thunder Mountain sat David Garrard (24) instead of Trent Edwards (6), and could have played Kevin Walter (19) instead of either Maurice Jones-Drew (3) or Wes Welker (7), and only needed two points to win over Brother Bears - who's bench scored 0 points (6 players on bye plus injured Reggie Bush). Both are borderline, so I'll let it slide...

Brother, can you spare a QB?

Nothing like losing both of your quarterbacks in two weeks. Except perhaps losing them in the same week - which has probably happened to someone somewhere this year. Little solace for me, as I now need to go dumpster diving to boost my ECC team, which had a far better chance of a playoff spot than my MKC team...

Two more starting QBs injured (Schaub and Orton), one more benched (Anderson), and possibly another injured (Roethlisberger), and a retiree coming back (Culpepper). I still think Doug Flutie should be talking to some teams...

In the Magic Kingdom Conference, the Intergalactic Space Rangers continue their dominance, moving to 8-1 with a win over early powerhouse Boardwalk Buskers, 90-50 and taking a 2 game lead. But High Score (in this low scoring week) went to Country Bears with 101, ironically against the Low Points team, DISenfranchised Ducks, who went AWOL and scored a measly 13.

The Pleasure Island Adventurers (belonging to yours truly) get the honor of being the latest team taken down by Sheffield Wednesday - I mean, Team magic knights to earn this week's Rookie Fodder award. I think lawsonsontour has been fooling us all...

In the EPCOT Center Conference, high score went to Mushu Maniacs for the 3rd time, winning over the Caribbean Pirates 93-62. Low points go to Reedy Creek Smoke Eaters, losing to Wheezy's Warriors 91-51. Thanks to the goose egg put up by the Pats D/ST, the Jungle Cruise Skippers defeated the expert team Liberty Tree Touchdowns 88-72 but missed the 20 point margin by 4 to miss out on the Dragonslayer award, which has yet to be given out. I should have played the Jets D/ST (16 points) instead.

One more week of byes...but plenty more weeks of injuries to go.

Edit: Oops...left out that Brother Bears in the ECC is likewise starting to
run away, moving to 8-1 and a 2 game lead overall.

Three more weeks...three more weeks...

The playoffs start Week 14. Trade deadline is is 12 noon ET next Wednesday (11/19).

Hey, a week without a major QB injury?!? What do I have to rant about now? At least bye weeks are over, and dumpster diving on the waiver wire can come to an end. At least if my players don't get suspended - and unfortunately I've got a few that might...

The Intergalactic Space Rangers (9-1) continue their dominance of the MKC, although not with a dominating performance - if it weren't for future MVP Kurt Warner (Matt who?), those three goose eggs might have had the Rangers buried under Emperor Zurg's Death Dole Whip, but he ekes out an 84-83 win over the Disney Dole Whips (6-4). And although the
Boardwalk Buskers (7-3) tied their league high 130 point performance from week 2 by defeating the Country Bears (6-4) 130-65 and move alone into second place, it was not the high score of the week - which goes to the Carousel of Doom (5-5), winning 136-40 over DIS Pluto's Revenge (3-7) (ironically, this weeks Low Points), but they are still on the outside looking in as Rookie of the Year candidate Team magic knights (6-4) had their fifth consecutive win, beating the DISenfranchised Ducks (3-7) 73-61 to remain on the bubble in 6th place.

In the ECC, the Brother Bears (9-1) likewise continue to roll ahead of everyone else, bearing the Jungle Cruise Skippers (5-5) 94-87 and holding a 2 game lead over Mushu Maniacs (7-3), who beat Dark Helmet's Minions (5-5) 127-79 for this weeks High Points.

Low Points went to the poor Caribbean Pirates (3-7), who lost to Stinky Pete (5-5), 86-34. I also have to unfortunately had a Benchwarmer award to the Pirates, who's bench not only outscored the active players, but if the active players had DOUBLED their score, they STILL would have lost to the bench...

I do get to give out the Rookie Fodder award in the ECC as well as Thunder Mountain (3-7) took down the bye-week-beset Disney Chiefs (1-9) 82-59.

It's down to the stretch, and the ECC playoff picture is pretty muddy - there is a 5-way tie for the last two playoff spots, and the tie breaker is Points For, which means my lowly Skippers are a long way off...but the Skippers get to have a local grudge match against the Minions, which will take place in person... :)

This will be somewhat brief as I am actually working tonight...

Reminder: Trade deadline is noon tomorrow.

The Intergalactic Space Rangers continue their dominance over the Magic Kingdom, winning yet again over Plutes Cowboys 128-75 to go to 10-1, and pulling ahead of the pack by three games as Boardwalk Buskers lost to Cinderella story Team magic knights 112-53, and allowing Team Fellure to slip into second place. Low points go again to DISenfranchised Ducks, losing to Carousel of Doom 97-23 (DISenfranchised Ducks are soon to be declared abandoned...).

I almost want to give the Rangers the Benchwarmer award, simply for having Phil Dawson, Browns K, on the bench when he scored 21 points. 21 points from a KICKER! But given that he had high score, its tough to penalize him for not having more...

In the EPCOT Center Conference, Brother Bears continues as the top, winning yet again over Disney Chiefs 80-63 for a 10-1 record, with Mushu Maniacs keeping pace at 8-3. High points however went to Liberty Tree Touchdowns, beating Philly Soarin 120-64. Of course, our resident expert owns the Rangers and the Touchdowns - but here he played Phil Dawson...there is still the possibility we'll see a gimme in the league finale...

Low points went to rookie Thunder Mountain, who lost to last week's winner Carribean Pirates, 61-47...and just because he's got the best bench players out there, I have to give the Pirates the Benchwarmer award again...not only did Matt Cassel score 36 points, but take him, Ted Ginn Jr, and Willie Parker and the would have outscored his whole active roster...

Two more weeks, then the playoffs!

There is only one week left in the regular season, and the playoff picture is becoming clearer. It's very clear that the picture doesn't include me in either league :(

Both of the 10-1 teams from last week fell this week, but given their lead over their respective leagues they've already earned the #1 seed in the playoffs.

In the MKC (or at least this week, the Low Scoring Conference), top seed Intergalactic Space Rangers (10-2) had to watch Drew Brees rip apart the Green Bay defense Monday night to see a 20 point lead turn into a 8 point loss to the Pleasure Island Adventurers (5-7), 75-67. High Score went to Plutes Cowboys (5-6-1) with a win over Low Points team, the DISenfranchised Ducks (3-9) 99-64. And rookie sensation Team magic knights (8-4) continues to school the league in proper English and Fantasy Football, giving the Country Bears (6-6) the Rookie Fodder award for a 80-69 win.

The MKC Benchwarmer award this week was a tough one...three teams had their reserves beat their active rosters. However, I will exclude Carousel of Doom (7-5) because they did win this week, whereas both benches for the Country Bears (92 vs. 69) and Disney Dole Whips (84 vs. 80) would have beat their OPPONENTS, so they can split it this week.

Over in the ECC, the top seed Brother Bears (10-2) likewise suffered a similar fate, dropping to Dark Helmet's Minions (7-5), 96-40 - also earning the Low Points award.

High points went to rookie Thunder Mountain (4-8) this week with a near-perfect team selection, beating my poor Jungle Cruise Skippers (5-7) 131-80 (and thus I award myself the Rookie Fodder award).

And just because it is tradition, Caribbean Pirates gets the Benchwarmer award, this time just because Matt Cassel remained on the bench while throwing yet another 400 yard game and even rushing for a TD...but so long as the Pats keep winning, he is under orders to keep him on the bench. :)

Taking out my crystal Mickey head, I can divine a few things about the playoffs. At least I think I can. But I have tomorrow off from work and got paged almost every night for the past week and I'm drinking some alcohol now, so this could be my imagination:

If I refer to Points For (PF), I am assuming no extreme amount of points are scored.

In the MKC, as mentioned, the Space Rangers have the top seed and a first round bye. If Team Fellure beats Country Bears, they get #2 and the other bye. If TF loses and either Buskers or magic knights win, then they take #2. If they BOTH win, Buskers will get #2 by Points For (PF) unless magic knights scores 160 points more than Buskers. :) In all scenarios, all the mentioned teams are in. I believe Carousel of Doom is guaranteed a spot even with a loss based on PF, and I believe the winner of Plutes Cowboys and Disney Dole Whips will settle the last slot.

In the ECC, there is of course Brother Bears with the top seed, with the #2 seed up for grabs. The Maniacs are the likely taker with a win and keeping within 51 points of the Touchdowns, who could take #2 with a win and a loss by the Maniacs or by scoring 52 or more points than the Maniacs. If the both lose then it still should come down to the points scored by them as both are at least 100 points ahead of anybody else. Other than that, it appears that the Warriors, Minions, and Stinky Pete are all guaranteed in to the playoffs.
