yikes that was hard and it was only six minutes today.... I can't even get my legs straight out when laying like that....

It is so hard to try to do this and not give up.... how do you do it...? I feel like such an oaf on the floor like that.

:wave2: DMickey!

Have you stopped by the FIRM thread? We are a group of FIRMies that support each other everyday. There's a nice bunch of ladies on board who are so encouraging and have a varying range of fitness levels.

I started using the FIRM about a year ago and was very uncoordinated and out of shape. The moves seems awkward and pretty hard. I remember not being able to get through more than 15 or 20 minutes and I was pouring sweat and out of breath. I didn't use weights at all. I took a break from mid-August until December 1 of last year then started using the tapes again. I love them!

I just bought a new one cardio blaster and watched it last night for the first time. It looks hard and part of me wants to take the video back and not go through the motions and hassle of learning new routines. But I'm going to keep it and master it. I'll get it eventually. So will you!

I don't have the work out you're talking about but someone else may. Just hang in there - it really does get easier. I was doing the FIRM at 280+ pounds so it can be done! :) Come and join us on the FIRM thread if you like!

DMickey,

I agree with Lisa, stop by the FIRM board. Everyone there is so helpful and it's a great motivator.

I have 5 second abs and have only done workout #1 once. Ab work is not easy, especially when you are beginning. Don't worry about what you look like, no one is there to see you! I remember when I would always work out, I would skip the ab part. I hated it, it hurt and I wasn't going to do it. Even back in September when I started Firming, I would skip the ab part mostly. I would try a few, but when they hurt I quit. I stopped FIRMing to go on vacation in Nov and didn't start back up till January. This time I decided to really focus and make myself do the ab work. Unless the set is too hard and it hurts I try to keep good form and do them. They are getting easier, and I can so see them getting more tone. Now that I am getting closer to goal, I can actually see some definition there. I also can see that I may not end up with extra skin when I finish loosing all this fat. I can see my tummy fat shrinking and I really think the toning of the abs is helping. Hopefully someday when the fat all disappears from this area I will have nice abs underneath.

Keep at it, go slow and keep good form. Join us on the FIRM board. You can do it. I know they are not fun, but think of the results. You can't spot reduce your belly, but you can strengthen the muscle underneath. Then one day the work will pay off!

Good luck!
