Hi everyone!!! Thanks so much for keeping 'me' alive!
I haven't forgotten about the trip report. I'm always thinking about it! In fact my favourite day of the holiday is the next chapter which I've been looking forward to writing for ages. Even though it's been a few months since I started this, I'm still astounded by the kindness and loyalty of those who have posted. You're such a great bunch of people. Even though I leave lengthy gaps between chapters, please don't ever think I take you all for granted. No way!
So, I have no new chapter *yet* but I do want to update everyone on what's been happening cause it's been a busy few weeks.
First, 'Wayne' had to go to hospital to have a procedure done on his ingrown toenails. Had the sides of the nails on his big toes removed.

He got it done under general anaesthetic thankfully. He was making a great recovery until he developed a horrific raw rash all around his toes on his right foot a few days ago. It worsened until eventually yesterday afternoon he was in a great deal of pain so DH brought him back to the hospital where they did the procedure and after waiting for 7 hours still didn't get to see a doctor.

He was shivering with a fever and awful pain in his toes. Their advice had been to come back to them if there was a problem. But our health service is really appalling these days so after 7 hours of sitting in A&E DH had no choice but to bring him home as he was feeling so nauseous. We still haven't got to the bottom of it and will need to see his own doctor on Tuesday as Monday is a holiday here. But I'm sure it's treatable. Just p---d off right now about the crap treatment at the hospital. Don't ever get sick in Ireland.
Anyway, on to happier things - Wayne made his Confirmation on the 8th. Now we're not very religious at all but I must say the Confirmation was very nice. We even got our photo in the newspaper of the big day.
We had a small party last Saturday to celebrate the confirmation. It went off well but I'm always a bit of a nervous wreck organising these family gatherings. Still, we did have fun. Alice's 3rd birthday was last Tuesday, the 13th.

My baby's growing up! So we got a little cake for her too on the day of the party to mark both occasions.
She held on to the cake for dear life for about 2 hours until she finally agreed to cut it! lol
So on 'Alice's' actual birthday we just had a nice tea ourselves and gave her her presents which she loved. A big hit was her Princess tent castle! Like our house isn't cramped enough - it's been up since Tuesday! lol Also, she got an Ariel doll which she loves!
Here's a few photos of the day itself (some are dark and blurry)...
And the castle!!!
Yesterday being Patrick's Day (thanks for the Patrick's Day wishes Ricky's Girl!

) we went to the parade (this was before Wayne's hospital saga) - it was okay, it's never great really despite living in the 2nd largest city in Ireland. One of these days we'll go to the Paddy's Day parade in Dublin, or better still New York!! Much more Irishness there than here.
So that's it. Not sure why I felt the need to post all that but I guess I wanted to keep you all updated on our busy few weeks!!! That was fun...
Back soon to the TR with 8th day, 31st October!!! Thanks for reading
