The financially irresponsible WDW trip! [June 25th: p.45, posts 668 & 669]

I have spent the last two days reading your trip report and have really been entertained!!! I found myself laughing :rotfl2: out loud while reading your hiliarious writings. I really love how you get the "magic" pixiedust: and the "escapism" from the minute you drive :drive: through the Disney gates. You have a great sense of humor. I can't wait for more - so hurry back when you find the time!:thumbsup2

I am caught up already? I am new to these parts and totally addicted to trip reports. Yours is great. I have been sititng here since this afternoon. I was so wrapped up I forgot to start dinner so I had to order the kids pizza!

I am enjoying hearing your perspective on our country. Although I must say I have never been in a Winn Dixie that was not a somewhat pathetic excuse for a grocery store. Maybe I am just a grocery snob though! I am in Dallas and quite spoiled by my urban surroundings. Have you had a chance to visit a U.S. Wal-Mart? Now there is a shopping adventure. :)

I am so envious that you have been to Kennedy Space Center.:worship: That is on my "must do" list along with seeing an actual shuttle launch. You have pictures of things I built models of as a kid. (yes, I am a girl geek still)

My DH is a former graphic designer. Sounds like you obsess over creating your list like he does our kids birthday invitations. "the kerning has to be just right! The leading is off there!" He got onto me once for leaving a widow in my journaling on a scrapbook page! :lmao:

Now I am babbling on! I am looking forward to reading the rest of your report!!!

Thanks for the nice long installment...I've been slowly getting caught up with all my fav TRs, so glad to see one from you!!

Can't wait for the next update...:wizard:

Hey Deb, where's the next installment? I could use another day off work...

Helloooooo! Are you out there? You're way over due for a new installment IMHO.:lmao: Do you have a life or something?:rotfl2: Let the kiddies eat leftovers. Who needs clean laundry? The important thing is that we need an update so get to it!:rotfl: LYMI pixiedust:

PLEASE DEB,
your readers have waited oh so long, is an update coming soon? I need more of your humor.

Hurry Back Deb - I need some laughs:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Your trip report is the best I've ever read and believe me when I say that I've read alot:surfweb:

Okay Deb, as you can see from my ticker, I'm leaving for WDW soon. I think I need another installment before I go!!!:p please?:flower3:

Hi Deb! Just wanted to wish my favorite Irish lass a Happy St. Patrick's Day! And while I'm logged in I thought I would plead my case for a new installment from you. Pretty please??? :rotfl:

You left us hanging! Please.. another installment!!!!!!!

Leave the :laundy: and write more!

Hi everyone!!! Thanks so much for keeping 'me' alive! :goodvibes

I haven't forgotten about the trip report. I'm always thinking about it! In fact my favourite day of the holiday is the next chapter which I've been looking forward to writing for ages. Even though it's been a few months since I started this, I'm still astounded by the kindness and loyalty of those who have posted. You're such a great bunch of people. Even though I leave lengthy gaps between chapters, please don't ever think I take you all for granted. No way!

So, I have no new chapter *yet* but I do want to update everyone on what's been happening cause it's been a busy few weeks.

First, 'Wayne' had to go to hospital to have a procedure done on his ingrown toenails. Had the sides of the nails on his big toes removed. :scared: He got it done under general anaesthetic thankfully. He was making a great recovery until he developed a horrific raw rash all around his toes on his right foot a few days ago. It worsened until eventually yesterday afternoon he was in a great deal of pain so DH brought him back to the hospital where they did the procedure and after waiting for 7 hours still didn't get to see a doctor. :sad2: He was shivering with a fever and awful pain in his toes. Their advice had been to come back to them if there was a problem. But our health service is really appalling these days so after 7 hours of sitting in A&E DH had no choice but to bring him home as he was feeling so nauseous. We still haven't got to the bottom of it and will need to see his own doctor on Tuesday as Monday is a holiday here. But I'm sure it's treatable. Just p---d off right now about the crap treatment at the hospital. Don't ever get sick in Ireland.

Anyway, on to happier things - Wayne made his Confirmation on the 8th. Now we're not very religious at all but I must say the Confirmation was very nice. We even got our photo in the newspaper of the big day.

We had a small party last Saturday to celebrate the confirmation. It went off well but I'm always a bit of a nervous wreck organising these family gatherings. Still, we did have fun. Alice's 3rd birthday was last Tuesday, the 13th. :woohoo: My baby's growing up! So we got a little cake for her too on the day of the party to mark both occasions.

She held on to the cake for dear life for about 2 hours until she finally agreed to cut it! lol

So on 'Alice's' actual birthday we just had a nice tea ourselves and gave her her presents which she loved. A big hit was her Princess tent castle! Like our house isn't cramped enough - it's been up since Tuesday! lol Also, she got an Ariel doll which she loves!

Here's a few photos of the day itself (some are dark and blurry)...

And the castle!!!

Yesterday being Patrick's Day (thanks for the Patrick's Day wishes Ricky's Girl!) we went to the parade (this was before Wayne's hospital saga) - it was okay, it's never great really despite living in the 2nd largest city in Ireland. One of these days we'll go to the Paddy's Day parade in Dublin, or better still New York!! Much more Irishness there than here. :lmao:

So that's it. Not sure why I felt the need to post all that but I guess I wanted to keep you all updated on our busy few weeks!!! That was fun...

Back soon to the TR with 8th day, 31st October!!! Thanks for reading :)

Congrats on Waynes confirmation. :goodvibes We're not very religious, either, but the ceremonies are lovely and a beautiful family tradition.

BTW, what wonderful photos! The picture of you and Alice is priceless! She really is a stunning child, Deb. princess:

Uh oh -- this trippie made it to the 2nd page -- bumping to bring it back to the first! We need our fix!! We all hope Wayne is doing better-- please let us know how he is.

Hey Deb, it's great to hear from you. Sorry to hear about Wayne's woe's with his toe's, hope all is better real soon. Also congrat's on the confirmation. We're not religious either, my kids have only been in church three times in the four years they have been on earth. But, next year is kindergarten for them which also starts the begining of their religious education. So in keeping with family tradition, I guess they will be going. So I don't have to hear from my mom that I am raising two heathens.
And by the way little Alice is quite a doll.

Can't wait to read more, your installments are always very entertaining.

What wonderful pics Deb! It's such a big day for the kids and grown ups when they make a confirmation since they had to go through sooo many CCD classes with us driving them in order to be part of the ceremony! Congrats to Wayne. I hope the toe is feeling better. Sounds like you've been very busy. We do miss your stories though so hurry back when you have the time.:)

Beautiful pics! Your kids are just too cute! The photo of your daughter with the cake was adorable. princess: Congrats to Wayne on his confirmation! I hope he feels better soon too!

Thanks for checking in! Love your TR, can't wait for more! :thumbsup2
