THE FINAL TRIP: I-AKL (w/ lots of photos)

What a wonderful trip you had. Back in July 2000 was the first trip to WDW for my 2 children and my Mom. It was just the 4 of us. I have the best memories from that trip, memories that I will cherish forever. My mom died November 8, 2004 and I miss her so much.
My son's High School band will be playing in the MK on Feb 3 in the 3PM parade. She would have done anything to be there, I know she will be there with me, in my heart. I'll think of her at certian places where I can still hear our conversations about the beautiful flowers, watching Illuminations, the look on her face after the Rock n RollerCoaster. So much fun!
So the next time your at Disney, stop and really look at what's around you
and you will see your Mom in the little things.
That's what I'm planning to do.

I'm sorry for your loss, this one hurts a lot.

thank you so much for sharing your wonderful trip with all of us! not only so well written, but so very touching too!

What an amazing time you and your Mom experienced!

Your report with photos really showed what a wonderful time the two of you had together...memories that will last forever.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm glad the two of you had this time together.

That was truly the most touching thing I've read. Your mother was, and is, very blessed to have you as a daughter. Her beautiful smiles in those great photos are a true testament to the wonderful gift you gave her with your trip together to the most magical place. I just know in my heart that even though she had trouble remembering the names of the rides and characters she remembered the joy they brought her!

Bless you!

Jaymie

Thank you for writing this beautiful trip report. Seeing things through the eyes of those we love is a new way to experience the "world" and love it in a different way. I wish you peace & comfort during this difficult time.

My mom passed away on December 1st after a short illness and all the time she was sick she talked & talked about her one & only trip to WDW with my family in 2001. It is such a wonderful place to make special memories.

It sounds as if your mom really enjoyed her time & you have a terrific experience to remember for your lifetime. Keeping you & your family in my prayers.

Michelle,

Thank you so much for sharing this very special trip to WDW with your dear Mom. Her smile is so beautiful in the photos and it's easy to see you both meant a lot to each other.

I tried to get my mother to come with my sons and me when we went in 2003. She was not infirm, had no dementia, and at 72 could run rings around us, yet she said she would only slow us down and repeatedly declined to come with us. We lost her less than a year later to lung cancer that was undiagnosed until only 24 days before her passing (almost 2 years after losing her we are still feeling a little lost without her). How I wish she had come with us on that trip. Your trip with your mother was a gift and a blessing.

I am so sorry for your loss, but I am so happy you and your Mom had such a special trip together.

Thanks for posting your report. I am sorry for your loss and am so glad you have wonderful memories to sustain you during this time. I'm in Madison too! (Well, Middleton.)

Sorry about your Mom. Sounds like she had a great trip, you will have lots to remember.

I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful trip report with us. I hope you get comfort from knowing how much joy you brought to your mom during her trip to WDW. It is obvious from the pictures that she was so happy to be there with you, and at the most magical time of the year. Many people do not get the chance to spend quality time with a loved one before they leave us so for that you are truly blessed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for such a wonderful report. Your mom looks beautiful in all those pictures, and so happy!

What a beautiful yet sad story - you wrote it perfectly filled with all the love and caring you had for your mother! The pictures were so sweet of you & your mom - memories like you said to last a lifetime. It's wonderful you had the forethought to spend those days with her (esp in such a magical place) and now knowing she is at peace will help slowly make you feel better. Bless you for being such an awesome lady (just like her mother) :rose:

Thank you for writing such a beautiful trip report - it has to be one of the most poignant stories I have read. God Bless you for your generous spirit and loving care for your mother. She must have been one special lady. I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad to hear that you both had some wonderful memories together in such a sentimental place. Thanks again for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your trip and your photos. I am glad that the 2 of you had that special time to share. Seeing the joy in your mothers face made me smile and cry at the same time.

What lovely pictures! I'm so glad the two of you shared that time together before your mom passed on. She looked like an angel in all your photos.

What a wonderful report. So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.

A wonderful trip report. I am so happy you and your Mother had that very special time together. I just love the pictures of of her!

I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for sharing her and your trip with us.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing your story. Your Mom looked like she had such a wonderful time. Also, you are such a loving, compassionate and wonderful daughter. I had so many tears while reading your trip report. I too, lost both my parents within a 18 month period in 1999 and I sorely miss them. Today, was a sad day b/c it was recently my mother birthday and to see your mother's smile truly, brightened my day. There are so many things I wish I could have done with my parents. Your scrapbook will make such wonderful memories for you and your family. Your trip report read so beautifully. Sorry, for the long response but I was so touched. Please acccept this :grouphug: and God Bless you and your family.

It was nice to read your holiday details. I am sorry that your Mum has now died - but you can see in the pictures that she had a really lovely holiday.

I cant think of a better place to spend time with someone and have wonderful memories!
