I have a facebook account. I got it because my kids have one and I keep tabs on them.
However, I don't consider myself part of a majority at all. Every time I hear that I assume it comes from a "everyone who's anyone" mentality, not reality. I think the majority of people do not have the luxury of hanging out on facebook as a pasttime!
I enjoy it and have never had a negative experience on it. I hide most of the people who post constant banter, apps, etc. and /or are aquaintances not real life friends and family. I post under my maiden name and a very old picture so anyone would have to know me well to find me. I have enjoyed the opportunity to be more involved with some friends I rarely get to see. Getting to see their pictures is my favorite part.
