The Fantasy's First MNSSH Cruise: Zombies of the Caribbean October 27, 2012

Getting so excited, even paid off the final balance a couple of days ago :dance3:

I really want to organise myself with FE, but I am new to this. We just have to get gifts for everyone once, is that correct  Do we have a certain night to deliver :scratchin

Only one gift, (or gift set), per cabin. I think that you could deliver on any night. Some other meet threads do assign a particular day to delivery so people get a gift every day. We could do that if people want.

Thanks :) I think getting a gift each night sounds great, rather than getting them all in one night. But happy to go along with what ever.

I like the idea of spreading it out too....then you get a treat everyday! pixiedust:

I understand the idea of spreading it out but with twenty cabins do you not think it will be pretty spread out anyway it's very unlikely that everyone will deliver in the first day, and as we keep saying so much to do so little relaxing time, I'd hate my day to be assigned as Cozumel pirate night and Halloween day! Or to think I HAD to do it any day, if I decided to go to the pool before dinner I'd like to think oh it's okay I can deliver them tomorrow.

All that being said if everyone else would rather I'm happy to o along with things. :cool1::rotfl2:

Never thought of it like that , yes maybe being assigned to a cetain day is not a great ideal after all.

I would rather do it on the day I want to as well. It is vacation after all.

We could divide the group in half the first half delivers th first 3-4 days and the second half the last 3-4 days if people really want to spread it out. This way no one is locked to a day, but all the gifts won't come on the first sea day.

I thought for myself I would deliver a few gifts at a time when I might be near those cabins. Like Stacel0u I am fine with majority rule, but my vote is deliver when you have time or early/late part of the week.

On my last cruise there was no set day, everyone delivered at will and worked out real well so I'm for no set day.

Lets just have fun :thumbsup2

I totally agree, the whole thing should be fun, let's deliver when we want to, it's doubtful that everyone will pick the same day:goodvibes

You all are so smart! I didn't even think of it that way either! I'll just go with the flow....:hippie:

Hi All,

Can I just get the gist of what is happening regarding FE.

I take it by the previous posts we are looking at a Max of 25 in a group? (if more join it will be split into 2 smaller groups)

Are we looking at delivering 1 per cabin (ie 25) or 1 per kid?

Sorry to be a bit thick but I just want to get a few things understood prior to buying/making stuff!

Hi Smudge,
glad to see I'm not the only one spending Sunday morning on DIS!!!
I will try to answer your questions as best I can:
the first FE group is now closed to newbies as the concensus was that 20 cabins was the magic number:goodvibes although it doesn't look as if we've quite reached the 20 if you look at the roll call on page one, the rest of Staceyl0u's party is split between other cabins and she is sure they will want to participate. Anyone who joins from now on in will be in group 2. The cut off point will still be end of August as this only gives people 2 months (much less if folk are travelling to Florida earlier than the cruise) to ascertain how many gifts they need to buy/make and to organise shipment of goods/materials if applicable. However, if we get to the end of August and only a few cabins , say 5, have signed up for group 2 then it would make sense to add to the existing group.

As for if it is one gift per cabin or for each child, I think it is up to the individual to do what they waould rather do. from a personal viewpoint, I intend to give a stateroom gift and a gift per child, if there are no children in the cabin then my stateroom gift may be a little more substantial;)

This is my take on things- Everyone else- please say if I'm off the mark on any of this :thumbsup2

I think you summed it up nicely:thumbsup2

I do not think we should put to many rules on the fe. Fe gifts do not need to be to big. They can be pencils, stickers, post cards from your home state, candy, pins, or any other simple trinkets. It is just the fun of getting something when you get back to your room. I have even recieved tissue, hand sanatizer, or even pins. Useable stuff.
We should not end to soon maybe a month out, but make a few extra for stragglers. Simpler gifts for them.
There should not be a set time for delivery. People have things they want to do when they want to do them. It always works out. We should not exclude anybody from participating.
How would you feel if you were told that you could not participate with the main group hut you have to start a new group with only the few late people? You would would feel bad. We had people like that last year and they were very upset about it.
The fe should be for anybody. We just need to make simple gifts for anybody after the cutoff date.

What do you think?

The other thing is having more than one group is hard. It is hard to corrdinate, plan and always has more issues than it is worth. Why dont we see how many people we have towards the end before we start breaking up into groups?

I already have ideas on making it easier to deliver. Emailing a map of where everybody who is participating is. I also have other ideas. I am corrdinating the and will make it as easy as I can, but I want to make sure all who want to partake can.

Thank you

What do you think?

I don't think anyone wants to leave people out of the FE who want to participate. I think we will easily get another group of 20 between now and August 27. Anyone after August 27 can have a group just for them, or I think would understand that we had a cut off. On my first cruise I missed the cut off date and didn't feel upset that I was unable to participate. I think most meet up threads have a close date on FE sign up.

Many in the group, me included, are interested in keeping the number of cabins they need to deliver gifts to small. Many of us are traveling some distance and don't have the luggage space, especially since most of us are also participating in the trick or treat. I know that when I joined the thread I was unsure about FE until we decided to keep the groups small. 20-25 gifts is no problem but with 40-50 I might not want to participate.

Some of us would also like to give more than stickers as a gift, not that there is anything wrong with stickers;). It also seems that many in the group are making their gifts so having a cut off date and number makes gift making easier.

I think everyone is with you on the set delivery time. We will deliver whenever.

Anyone else want to jump in on this topic, in particular about cut off dates and # of people in FE groups.
