The Fantasy's First MNSSH Cruise: Zombies of the Caribbean October 27, 2012

I would like to vote 20 cabins for the FE as well. Maybe I can plan for 25 just in case. I would not mind if the date cut of were a little sooner. I am thinking I may order some stuff that may come from China and it may take a while to ship to the U.S. I can not even begin to imagine gifts for 40 cabins. This vacation already is expensive without gifts and figuring out how to get them there. I will say that if there are 40 cabins, you all are going to get a sticker from me lol. :rotfl:

I agree DisneyOrBustColorado, if we have only 25 by August 27 the additional 5 could be added to original group.

I am wondering is 20 too many would 15 be better? I think below 15 is too small. For what I was planning on making 20-25 is easily doable but is people think 15 is better we could do groups of 15. We are at 13 right now.

hummmm... well that depends on how good of gifts people want me to bring.:lmao: Right now there are 13 cabins & a total of 38 people. That's a lot of people if I am going to create one gift per person. IF it gets to be too many people, I may have to just bring one gift per cabin. We could limit the FE to 15 cabins & then if we get 5 additional cabins before the cut off, we may be able to add them in so there are a total of 20 cabins. I guess I will do what I can do & if there are too many people then the gifts will have to be spread out per cabin. I think a limit of 15 - 20 max cabins may not be a bad idea. Again it depends on what people are expecting to receive for gifts. I don't mind getting something as simple as a post card telling where the family came from, but other people may be disappointed when they only get a small sticker from me. (kidding of course).

I think I am going to make some trading cards for my kids to hand out to their friends on the cruise. Maybe some of you will be interested in doing that too. I know that we all have a lot on our plates right now, but these are simple & inexpensive. My boys have lots of fun trading these on their trips & then they have something neat to remember their friends by. Kids could collect a bunch of cards with different Disney characters on them. These are 2.5x3.5 inches in size (sorry I don't know the conversion for this). They are hard & rigid like a typical football or baseball player card. Glossy on the front & matte finish on the back for easy writing or signing. I may make a card to include our whole family to include in the FE exchange. It's just something neat with Disney characters to help remember the wonderful people that you meat on the trip.

I may be able to help design these for people & also may be able help with the printing if you need it. Or you could just print these on your own. I typically pay about $30. US dollars for 100 cards (including shipping in the U.S.)

I am not putting any pressure on anyone else to do this at all. I know that we all are already doing a lot of stuff. I just wanted to invite anyone else that was interested to participate in trading cards for memories or putting them in the FEs. If anyone else is interested just let me know, & I am willing to help you out. Below is a quick sample that I made up of what I am thinking about doing. I am going to try to display this, I've never done it before & I hope that it turns out correctly.

The whole idea behind FE's is not how much you spend or how big the gift is, for my wife and I it was the excitement of returning to the cabin each day finding a trinket in our FE. :thumbsup2

Welcome to the thread hollyjolly!

I keep forgetting to ask.....I do want to participate in the FE, but do you bring something for everyday of the cruise or maybe just a few choice things? Or is it a personal thing? ;)

I have never done FE before, but my understanding is that it is a one time gift per cabin. The gift maybe one thing for everyone in the cabin to enjoy, an individual item for each person, or one item for parents and something for each child. I think what ever you are comfortable with but only one time during the cruise

I love this idea! If only I had kids I would definitely participate, what a lovely way to remember everyone you cruised with when you get home, pet for scrap booking too! :)

Wow ,Packer fans on the Fantasy !!!! I see we play the Jags on our day at sea !! .

Welcome Sisley, hollyjolly.

I see the Canadians are making a move on the English, as the largest non-us presence on the ship !!.

Cheers

Iain.

Based on your group and the couple maybes in the current group I think we should close the current FE group, The rest of group Syaceyl0u would be in group 1. So anyone joiningthe thread from this point will be in group 2. With 5 months until we cruise we probably have enough to make a second group.

Thanks for the info! Made me remember the stuff we got the first time we went! The link had some fantastic ideas too! :woohoo:

I'm in your group right? :upsidedow

Getting so excited, even paid off the final balance a couple of days ago :dance3:

I really want to organise myself with FE, but I am new to this. We just have to get gifts for everyone once, is that correct  Do we have a certain night to deliver :scratchin
