The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

If it makes you feel any better, the nurse practitioner at our pediatrician's office once looked at me when my first was just a baby and suggested that I "read a novel, preferably a mystery" rather than any more parenting books and magazines! :rotfl: (Just so no one thinks she's mean, she is really terrific and I'm always pleased when she sees the boys. She just tells it like she sees it, but very kindly!)

:rotfl2: Yes, it does make me feel better! And I love it. What a great story!

I'm trying to stay on top of things! Photobucket was not my friend today, so sorry it took me all day to get this up!

I think I mentioned before that I made my 30 day countdown list, but I also made a "30 things to do in 30 days" list of things that need to be done before we go to disney, so I will be doing that too!

We had some excitement this week...our fairy godmailer (Charliefours...thank you Stephanie!) sent J.J. and Sydney postcards from Disney! J.J.'s came the day before Sydney's, so we were extra surprised to get it (since she's a baby, it would have been okay not to send her one!) and she was SO excited! I never would have imagined that they would have been so excited, but they were!

J.J.'s was from Woody, and after I read it to him, he told me, "Mommy, we have to go to Disney now! Woody is WAITING for me!"

Sydney got one from Cinderella.

Luckily, the faceless children are starting to be old enough to be directed in how to take pictures, and to think it's funny! They really brightened up our week! It's amazing how such a little thing can be exciting!

Oh my, we had a surprise fairy godmailer today! And it's really a surprise...I can guess who it is from, but even I am not sure. I guess it's just really from Mickey! :lmao:

SDC11495.jpg

J.J. was so excited, he spent the next hour telling me about how he got mail from Woody AND from Mickey, and how they were so excited that they were going to see him! It makes me tear up just thinking about how excited he is! I can not wait to take him to disney!!!

We have other things to discuss too. :lmao: I think we're going to cut Jay's hair before we go. Which is CRAZY, because we've been planning on cutting his hair when we're there for so long now. But the thing is, we're ready for it to be cut...and if he doesn't want to do it when we're there (which I don't think he will... he won't want it cut AND he doesn't like strangers) then we just won't do it, and I want it shorter for all our pictures! So, we're thinking about it. I really wanted it to be *special*, but J.J. can really hold a grudge (I live in fear of the idea that I could get pregnant accidentally, because he is very insistent that he doesn't want any more babies, just him and Sydney!) And he really would never forgive me! So I'd rather not ruin our trip with this haircut! Part of me is still toying around with the idea though, because I just love the idea of doing it in disney. You know, with someone else's child who isn't quite so opinionated about things...

Plus, in non-disney news, Sydney had her follow up appointment for her surgery today, and it turns out that the cyst wasn't thyroglossal after all, it was just a run-of-the-mill dermoid cyst. Which means that they didn't need to take the bone, but I'm glad he was cautious because he couldn't tell while looking at it. This means that it has a VERY low chance of coming back (it would have had a low chance if it was thyroglossal since he took a little chunk of the bone, but this is even lower) and that there's not a cancer risk with this kind of cyst like there is with recurring thyroglossal cysts! (He didn't tell me about the cancer risk with the thyroglossal cyst, but I was a bad mom and googled...:rolleyes1...it was an incredibly low risk, but I'm glad to get rid of that risk, no matter HOW low!) :cool1::cool1::cool1: You can bet I'm really dancing! Dance with me, would you? :cheer2:

YAY! You can bet I'm dancing with you! That is wonderful news.

How sweet that J.J. is so excited! :goodvibes Ashlyn flipped out when we got her hair cut at Disney, but she had very bad stranger anxiety. She got over it fairly quickly, though. But she's not one to really hold grudges, either.

Thank you!

Yeah, I think it's very strange for a toddler to be able to hold grudges like that. He's an odd one. :confused3

We leave for WDW in 30 days!!! party:

Let the countdown begin!

My "30 things I'm looking forward to" are in no particular order, just FYI.

30. Going back to Pop!

We stayed at Pop on our honeymoon, and we LOVED it. Last time we decided to stay somewhere else, and stayed at All Star Movies. It was alright, but I just didn't love it as much as I loved staying at Pop, and I really regretted not staying there again. I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice!

We are requesting 80's/90's, computer pool view, first floor. This is the section we were in last time, and we thought it was great...short walk to the busses, which is fantastic. We don't mind cutting through the parking lot at all! They play music from the decade that you're staying in, so we loved the music as well. We didn't figure out that we loved it because of that for an embarrassingly long time, we were just like, "Man they play great music here!" :lmao:

DH told me that he's heard that if you do online check-in, then if they assign your room to be somewhere that you don't like, it's almost impossible to get it changed. Has anyone else heard that? I will be crushed if we don't get that section. I can't imagine it's very popular, but it has a special place in my heart!

I have also done a "30 things to do in 30 days" list. Today's thing that we did from that list is:

Make a Countdown Calendar!

I would love to lie and say that this went smoothly and everyone had a great time, but that just wouldn't be true. Drawing straight lines on the floor with a baby crawling all over the paper, uncapping the sharpie and drawing all over the stickers while the toddler is throwing your mickey head paint chips up in the air is not as fun as it sounds, and I may have lost that disney magic for a few seconds. :rolleyes1 Whoops.

Overall, we had a great time doing it though, and J.J. is very excited about putting the Mickey heads on every day. Both of them were excited to hang it on the wall. It has the added benefit of teaching J.J. his bigger numbers (I don't think he really recognizes anything over 10...he just sees them as two numbers, like 13 is one-three.) so that's always good too!

Here it is, completed:

And putting on today's Mickey head.

30 DAYS!!! Inching ever closer to that Mickey on the bottom, when we leave! :cool1:

LOL!! I hear you! Your calendar looks great though! My kids loved doing ours and whenever we've got something fun coming up now they always want me to make one!

30 days!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

I'm looking forward to seeing you list. Pop was where we were first going to stay before we decided on going the rental house route. I hope you get the perfect room in the perfect location!

29 DAYS!

SDC11517.jpg

Today's item on the countdown is:

It's a small world!

This was supposed to be closed when we were supposed to go in September (right now, actually) and I was so very sad about it. Sydney is obsessed with dolls. She scales our piano and tries to play with my mom's precious moments (someone should like them, anyway, because I can't stand them!). Anything that is a doll is her best friend. She MAY try to leave the boat to grab one of the dolls and bring it home with her. I can NOT wait to ride this with her. Since she's so little, I know what she likes and doesn't like may not be so clear (we went with J.J. at 18 and 21 months, so I have an idea of what it's like going with a baby, although she is more opinionated than him), so having something that I know she will love is so much fun!

Today's "thing to do" was: Make a packing list!

SDC11520.jpg

I LOVE making lists. It's taken serious self-control to not make this list 80 times over before now. The list I made is way to short though, so I am sure I am forgetting things. But it's a start, and I have plenty of time to add to it. I also didn't bother putting numbers (like how many shirts I need) because I'm just not sure what I will be doing for that. That will be more last minute. Plus, starting a list early is more than necessary, since I am packing for three of us...DH packs for himself. Hopefully I won't forget too much this time around, and hopefully it will fit in the six suitcases we're allowed! :lmao: Actually, hopefully it will fit into 4 suitcases, since DH is hoping not to have to check luggage since he expects to be barely making his flight.

While I was doing my "paperwork", the babies did paperwork of their own.

SDC11518.jpg

SDC11519.jpg

They don't care too much about packing. It magically gets accomplished for them. Must be nice!

Packing "magically" happens in our house, too.
Hooray for the 30 day countdown!!!

Amanda

Yay for so many things for you lately, but especially the news about the cyst!:banana::banana: I love your countdown chart, too.

It's interesting how your packing lists are for 3 people and the household while your DH packs for just himself. It's like that in our house too, but he knows better than to ask why it takes me days to pack while he does it in a few minutes! :rotfl:

Great news about DDs surgery!! What a relief to know the risks are very low for any type of recurrence!

I say get the haircut now. It'll be one less thing to worry about in WDW. Plus, he may know it's coming if you wait and that'll make him even more anxious.

I love the countdown calendar. We are at 3 weeks from today and I've yet to make one. I'm thinking a 2 week countdown will be fine :) I did make a list of things to do though. (haven't done any of them!) Starting to freak out but not letting myself!!

I'm so glad Small World will be open for your trip! It was hands-down Matthew's favorite attraction and the only reason Rick and I endured it so many times was for that reason! Every time we'd ride it Matthew would just stare in wonder and rock back and forth to the music. He broke out in spontaneous clapping every now and then too. It was so awesome to watch him enjoy it!

:cool1:I am dancing with you!! What a blessing! I know you are glad to have that over and done with now you can have that off your mind!!!

Haha. It's nice to be a kid. Or a husband. ;)

Thank you!

I feel like I could conduct an experiment and just pack for myself and have DH do the rest, but I think we would be missing a lot of stuff. It does intrigue me...but I'd rather be prepared!

He does know it's coming, and he seems to be taking it rather well. I have officially moved it off of my "30 things I'm looking forward to" list and onto my "30 things to do in 30 days" list! I'd rather not make the trip stressful for him...he gets stressed out easily. He has inherited my personality, unfortunately for him!

Yay for 3 weeks! Do our trips overlap at all? I don't think I ever found out.

A two week countdown will be perfectly fine! Don't freak out, you have plenty of time!

I'm so glad to hear that! I think it will be tons of fun. I can't wait to see how she reacts!

:cool1:I am dancing with you!! What a blessing! I know you are glad to have that over and done with now you can have that off your mind!!!

Thank you for dancing with me! I didn't even know that we might find that out, so it was a very happy surprise!

Where can I find a pattern for this dress?? It is amazing!

It's very similar to the tutorial for the T-shirt dress that I posted earlier...okay, it's exactly like that.

I just typed a long thing about how I did the fringe, but I don't think it made sense. I will take a few pictures for you once DD is asleep for the night! And then for the cinderella on the T-shirt...I just cut it out and sewed all around it, making sure to catch the edge. It was really simple. The fringe is really easy too, I just have to take a few pictures to explain it, because words are failing me right now! I'll get back to you later tonight!

I feel like I could conduct an experiment and just pack for myself and have DH do the rest, but I think we would be missing a lot of stuff. It does intrigue me...but I'd rather be prepared!

Yeah, we'd be missing clothes for the kids. :lmao: My older son started daycare at 15 months old. 7 years later, if I haven't included lunches on the week's menu, my DH will give me a "he needs a lunch?" look if I ask if he packed it! On the other hand, if it's on the menu, he always does it.

Back to your dress -- I made a sleeping bag for my niece out of that same fabric last year, as well as a couple of tiny ones for her princess Barbies. It was a real pain to work with that pattern -- it seemed so random! It looks great on the front of the dress though!

I just got caught up. I am so glad to hear that Sydney's surgery went well and that there is no chance that it is cancerous. Phew. Now you can totally immerse yourself in Disney planning! I love all of the cute clothes for Disney, especially the T shirt collection. I do have to say that my DD has one of the same skirts - the navy blue patterned skirt from Kohl's. I love it - so cute!

If you do manage to convince JJ into the Disney haircut, it's super cute. I hear they even take reservations by now.

Yea!!! You got our postcard....I mean Mickey's postcard!
