The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

We used to try and get together with everyone, but now we just do our own thing -- if the rest of the family wants to come over, they know they can.

I hope DH's family jump at the invite.

It would just be nice if they would make the effort. Every time we invite his mother up here, she says no. And it used to always be, when can you come down, when can you come down, but it took us until February to see her for Christmas because she's so busy. You can take that for what it's worth. ;)

I would love those recipes that have been successes -- the crock pot is one of my best friends! :goodvibes

Would everyone like me to post them here, or should I PM you?

I am seconding the post the crock pot recipes here vote!!! I LOVE crock pot stuff---so I am always looking for great new recipes!!! Please share!!!

A mighty hello and best wishes shout out to everyone---I hope we all get on the road to recovery where we need it---health or otherwise---REALLY quickly!!! So here are some hugs for everyone!

We are gearing up for another upswing in our "busy season" of life---although I really don't feel like things have let up that much since Christmas, but here we are already knocking on March's door!!! Saturday night, Tom and Megan have their annual Father/Daughter dance at her school---she is getting SO excited!!! I am looking forward to some peace and quiet at my own home!!!! The very next day begins our March Madness of birthdays---for the little girl I used to babysit, Bella. Could Megan's weekend get any better??? A dance AND A BIRTHDAY PARTY?!?!?!!?!? As we continue through March, we get deluged with one more birthday after another:
Tom's is the 6th, his dad on the 11th, his mom on the 15th, my BFF's daughter on the 20th, my dad on the 20th also, and my nephew on the 29th! Luckily this year Easter is NOT in March!!! We are also avid college basketball fans in our household, so many things revolve around the big basketball tournament every year. We will also be gearing up through Lent for Easter in April, and before you know it, Megan's preschool "graduation" at the beginning of May. I just don't know where the time goes!!!!

You can add me to your March birthday list....March 1st!

My goodness, check out all the March babies! My mother's is March as well. :goodvibes

Oh TK I would love to have you post your recipes here if you don't mind! With as crazy as things get in my house I love the idea of crock pot recipes that are throw in and leave it!!! I do the corn beef and cabbage in the crock pot and the house always smells so yummy!!

Well as far as the milkshakes go....we do it two ways!! Prince Phillip enjoys chocolate mint so I make him one of those and he really enjoys it. I usually drop in a few drops of green food coloring to make it extra green LOL!! I usually will only make a green vanilla one for me!

I'm glad you're all so interested in the crock pot recipes! Most I've gotten from other sites, it'll take me a few to gather up the links, but I'll be happy to. :thumbsup2

I have a crock pot recipe for corned beef too. It's super yummy. You put in some orange zest (among other things) in with it and YUM YUM. I have it written down, I can dig it out if anyone wants it.

OF COURSE!!! Would they be ANYTHING different?!?!?!?! ;)

Okay gang, I'm going to confess something...........all this talk of corned beef and cabbage.......can I just say without getting flames....that (gulp)...I.......have......never.......eaten.......that......ever!!!! (And I am pretty sure Tom hasn't either!) Is this just something we are missing out on in our neck of the woods??? I'm a smart woman, but couldn't even tell you what corned beef is!!!!!! Fill me in!!!

I told Marc I was going to share the recipe with you and it brought it into me. Yay!

Corned Beef & Cabbage
MIL gave this recipe to me and she prefers the carrots on the side because she doesn't like them mushy. So you can either cook them in the crock pot or on the side depending on your preference.

Carrots
3 Sliced Onions
Corned Beef (sometimes we cut up the corned beef into sections to fit in the crock pot better)
1 cup apple cider or apple sauce
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
Grated Orange Rind (it's a strong flavor so do to your taste, a little goes a long way)
2 Tsp of Mustard
10 Cloves
3 - 5 garlic cloves

Cook on High for 8 Hours

If you want to serve the "juice" with your meal, you can thicken with corn starch and water mix. We don't usually do this, we find the flavoring to be very yummy just pulling everything out of the crock pot.

I am so going to make this in the next few weeks. I adore the way the cabbage tastes with the citrus flavoring.

Go to the grocery store this time of year and there is a lot of it because of St. Patty's Day. It's very yummy. You should try it!

Dude, that is so funny! You all inspired me to get healthier, so I not only got some chewables (Flinstones a la Heidi), I also got Viactiv. (Calcium supplements.):lmao:

Hmmm...I'm not big into orange flavoring. Do you think I could do this without the rind?

Jen....no flames from me....I don't eat corn beef and cabbage.....And I spent a month in Ireland.

The recipe sounds yummy and all, but seriously gang, what is corned beef??? I don't even know if they have that at our grocery store---never seen it before.

Yes, we have done it without the orange and it's just as good. :thumbsup2

I really don't know how to describe it, but it's yummy. If you don't see it, ask. I betcha they have it.

Hey no flames from me...its an acquired taste!! I happen to love it...of course I also love rueben sandwiches and all that kind of stuff!!!

OOOH LL thanks for sharing your recipe I might have to try the orange zest in mine!!

Thanks for the yummy corned beef recipe, LL!

No flames from me, Jen. It is super delicious though!

Heidi, where in Ireland did you go? I spent two weeks there one summer in high school and it is one of my favorite trips ever!!!
