The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

They put me on Progesterone. I have delayed going to the fertility clinic for now. I am trying to lose some weight before I go that route. They think if I was to lose some weight I would start ovulating on my own. I have a goal to lose 50lbs and then go to the fertility clinic which I discussed with the doctor today. He said I have plenty of time and that the healthier I am, the easier it will be. So the progesterone is supposed to get my cycle back on track without going back on the pill. So I am comfortable with all of this, I am just tired and drained.

As someone who is currently overweight and pregnant, I think it's a good idea to wait to go to the fertility doc until you lose weight. I have to deal with more tests and carp this time around because of my age and BMI....not that it's isn't worth it, it is, but I wish I had dropped more of the weight I had gained with Liam before getting pregnant again. :grouphug: hugs to both you and Marc.

. Not only is your body probably nutrient deficient due to the long periods,

LL- do they have you on an iron supplement? My doctors put me on one (over the counter pill) 2 weeks ago and I feel so much better. More engery and less jittery. I am/was amenic (sp?) due to the pregnacy, but a lot of period blood loss can cause it too.

Yes, so very drained. I am hopeful though. Thanks for your hugs. :goodvibes

No problem, any time.

I wondered that too. An iron supplement and a good multivitamin would probably help a lot.

Flintstone chewables for me! Does anyone remember the name of the little green alien that was on the Flintstones? He's one of the shapes of the vitamins.

Me, too. Or the WalMart generic. I don't remember the alien!

They tested my levels and I am not anemic. I am taking a multivitamin but it's like a horse pill and I think the chewable ones will be better. Thanks for the idea.

Ugh, I know how you feel. The antibiotics that I'm on right now are huge. It almost makes me gag. Sorry, that's probably tmi. :rotfl2:

My doctors have me take 2 of the Flintstones a day.

That's good to know. I always found the standard prenatal vitamins to be like horse pills as well.

Good morning, Lapuettes!!!

Heidi, that snow is beautiful, but there is so much of it! We are pretty much out of the whole snow-possibility season and into the tornado season -- yick! :scared:

LL, I am so sorry that you are having to deal with all those yicky health issues! I hope things get straightened out soon for you!!!

Morning, hon! How are things going?

They are going okay -- I am in that time of year where I am sick of winter, but it's too soon for spring and there isn't really anything much to look forward to in the next few weeks -- that end of winter slump, so to speak. Other than that, things are going good -- how about you?

Pretty good, thanks. See for me, I find once we get into Lent (Ash Wednesday is this week for nonreligious folk) the time seems to fly by. Then Easter, and my goodness here comes Spring!

It's just around the corner. Plus, I have St. Patty's day to look forward to, and my mother's and nana's birthdays are in March and April. So truly, a busy time of year for my family, but in a nice way. :goodvibes

Ash Wednesday and Lent aren't big things for us in our Presbyterian household, so it is still just 40 days until Easter. :goodvibes

Now St. Patrick's Day is a big deal at our house, but there isn't a lot of preparation for that besides cooking. It does sound like you are going to be keeping busy, TK.

Good Morning.

Thanks, CP! :thumbsup2

St. Patty's Day.....ahhhh the memories. Back in the day we used to go to our Favorite Mexician restaurant watering hole and drink green beer. And they had an auction for MDA every year that night. We'd get drunk and spend way too much money because it was for "charity"!

TK- care to share what you are giving up for Lent?

At our house we always make corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day and we have green milkshakes for dessert...YAY!! I can't wait!!!

I hope all of you that aren't feeling well get better soon! I'm fighting off a nasty head cold but after a good night's sleep I'm feeling much better!!!!

One of the reasons I love Easter is because it's such a relaxed holiday. No big hoopla, normally at my mom's, just me and my boys, my parents, my nana, and my fil.

This year, however, DH wanted to go to his mother's. Long story short, I offered to have everyone come up here. I don't want to get into particulars, but the way it is at my MIL's house is just not my idea of relaxing, or a family holiday, and there are certain things that happen that I'd prefer not to have my son exposed to.

Never mind the fact that it's been over TWO years since my MIL has driven up here. Now, I'm not complaining about that, because it can be stressful, but at the same time, come one. We're a family, and I'd love to have my nieces up here for Easter, plan an egg (plastic maybe since they're litter than my DS) hunt, do a nice brunch, just have a nice family time. You know?

So I've voiced my opinions to DH and he gets the honor of inviting everyone. God bless him. I know this will go over like a ton of bricks. :lmao:

You know how you have elves that visit your house every Christmas? I was reading in Family Fun the other day where some people have leprechauns leave surprises for their kids starting in March and leading up to St. Patty's Day. It's sort of the same concept, excpet you never see the leprechauns, just their mischief.

What a great memory!

Honestly, I've never gotten drunk on St. Patrick's Day. Actually, in all honesty, I have very rarely in my life been drunk. Well...you know what I mean. I mean staggering drunk. :lmao:

TK- care to share what you are giving up for Lent?

Every year, DH and I give up soda. I'm a diet caf-free Pepsi freak, and he loves regular Pepsi. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but it really is an integral part of our "diet" and acts as stress relief for me, so I feel it is a worthy sacrifice.

Although compared to someone giving their life for us, there's not much you can give up that really fits the bill. ;)

At our house we always make corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day and we have green milkshakes for dessert...YAY!! I can't wait!!!

Green milkshakes sounds like so much fun! I think it was Tink who told me she had a recipe for corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot. I'll have to ask her for that again.

I am so all about my crockpot lately. Some of the recipes I've tried have been duds, but I've gotten some good ones, and they've become part of our meal rotation, so to speak. It's so nice to throw things in there and not think about it again.

I hope all of you that aren't feeling well get better soon! I'm fighting off a nasty head cold but after a good night's sleep I'm feeling much better!!!!

Oh, hon, I hope you feel better soon, too. That cold virus that's going around is a doozy! DS and I are both on antibiotics now, because ours turned into nasty other stuff. I hope that doesn't happen to you.

:lmao: We used to head to Savannah for their St. Patty's celebration -- kind of like New Orleans on Mardi Gras (well, not quite, but close).

I hope you feel better, Jen!

We used to try and get together with everyone, but now we just do our own thing -- if the rest of the family wants to come over, they know they can.

I hope DH's family jump at the invite.

Cute idea! I haven't recovered from our elves yet, though.

I would love those recipes that have been successes -- the crock pot is one of my best friends! :goodvibes
