The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Oh!! I love this one. :rotfl:

Good Morning Lapuettes.

I'm happy to report that Marc and I have found an apartment for when our lease is up on April 1st. We've already paid our deposit and are just waiting to see which ones open up for our move in date. I'm really quite excited. The apartment complex is an upgrade, so we will have a pool, fitness center, club house and even a community garden in the summer. :woohoo:

It's going to be a busy spring for us!!
Yay! So so happy for you!!! Know that was weighing heavy on your mind! busy Spring, but busy with all good stuff :thumbsup2

Wow, I've never heard of that! That is kind of funny, but heck, I'd enjoy having at least one wall with color. Apartments are so standard. White walls, beige carpet. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my apartment for anything right now, but if we ever get a house, man am I going to go crazy with paint. :lmao:
I grew up in rentals with plain white walls you were never allowed to hang anything on so one of the first things I did for my kids whe they reached that girly age was let them pick the paint for their rooms - and boy did they go nuts! Lime Green and Pepto Pink!

We painted our current apartment and I realized then how much I hate painting. :rotfl: This new one, will just have a lot of colorful accents!

That sounds really nice! Having lived in a house for so many years, I wasn't initially jazzed up about looking at apt. possibilities, but I admit I've been looking at similar type offerings....intheorlandoarea....An on-site fitness center is a BIG draw for me and DH! Hopefully this is the spring for us to move, too!

Will you be in the same town?

Nope, we are moving closer to my work. So instead of a 35 minute commute, it will be about 15 minutes!! :woohoo:

At first I was like, we don't need one and then Marc talked me into it. I think we are going to do the tan one, only because we have a brown/tan couch now. I love the sage green one but I think then I would get stuck with decorating with that color and might get sick of it. At least with tan I can accent with a lot of different colors.

I do love sage green, but I can see how you would feel stuck with it if you're there for a long time. Color trends do come and go, so tan is probably safer. :thumbsup2

I love small spaces. I grew up in a mobile home and seriously had the tiniest bedroom ever so I feel most comfortable in smaller spaces, which is odd but it's me. I'm intimidated by 1,000 square feet. Marc on the other hand is scheming on all the things he can buy.

I can identify in that I had the smallest bedroom growing up. Crammed with all my stuff, nevertheless, but I loved it. Especially because during the winter, if you shut the door it was like my own little mini suana.

Maybe that would explain why I hate the cold so much now. :lmao:

Lime Green and Pepto Pink!

God bless em! And you for putting up with those colors! :lmao:

Hee hee...love how she throws in the in the Orlando area in small print. As if we don't know how obsessed you are. :lmao:

That's awesome in and of itself.

Wow, that'll be better, huh?! That's one thing DH has been spoiled with is a 6-mile, 10-min. commute. But with the winters we have up here, we knew as long as we were here, we didn't want him to have a long drive in nasty weather.

.

I am really really looking forward to the shorter commute. That is a big motivating factor in us moving. Throw in the winter weather and it can take me hours to get home! :headache:

Morning Lapuettes! Man it's cold outside today. I'm already officially sick winter. Usually I'm not this bad until at least February, but it feels like this year has been nothing but lousy weather. It doesn't help that my mom keeps calling me from Florida where she's visiting my grandmother telling me that the weather is beautiful and it's like a great spring day.:sad2: My father meanwhile just keeps telling me it's nice but if he's going to be in Florida he'd rather be in Disney.

LL the new place sounds great. I wish my condo complex had a workout room. We have an indoor pool, but it's only open in the summertime. :confused3 Stinks.

I did a bit of shopping over the weekend before the snow hit. Nothing exciting, but some clearance clothing. I bought one thing though that I completely didn't need. Another Christmas ornament. I can barely fit what I already own on my tree, but as I was walking past the Hallmark store I wandered in to look at the 75% off ornanments to see if they had the Star Trek ornament that I had kind of liked. They didn't but they had a Captain Jack one. I just had to have it. Plus it was only about $4 or so. So excited to have a little Jack on my tree next year.

I know what you mean. I think it's because we've had so much snow already, and most of it I've had to drive in. Between that and the ice, I'm thinking ugh, how many more months of this?

I did receive a rather special Jack Sparrow ornament this year.

He talks.

And sounds exactly like him.

I may have squealed in delight.

Thanks, Tink. ;)

I'm totally sick of winter. I really am not into snow, it does me no good whatsoever. I don't participate in any winter sports, I just don't like it. I'd be more than willing to give up a white Christmas for no snow EVER. :rotfl:

That's weird that your indoor pool is only open in the summer.

I actually hate to paint... Dh does any and all painting!

God bless em! And you for putting up with those colors! :lmao:
They were horrible!:scared1: and all DH's fault! I gave the ok for the painting process and came home from work to LGMH green and pepto pink walls!

once Christmas hits in my book winter has no redeeming qualities whatsoever!... bring on summer vacation!

I normally don't mind the cold all that much. I can even live with snow. (At least in the quantities that normally fall here in Southern CT). It's all the ice that's driving me nuts this year. I'd rather have the snow.

I think mine might do something. The box said "Magic" on it. I didn't take him out to play with him yet. :)

That sounds WONDERFUL dear!!!

Oh yes, and I forgot. They will give us a "free" accent wall. So we can pick one wall in our new apartment and they will paint it for us. I thought that was silly. :rotfl: I've never heard of a perk like that before!

I've never heard of that, but it might be nice to have one wall break up the usual apartment white/cream/beige scheme!

We aren't sure yet. We have a small teeny 2 bedroom right now, about 650 sq. feet. If we go with a 1 bedroom, it will be 800 sq. feet, the 2 bedrooms are 1,000 sq. feet. So no matter what it will be an upgrade. I'm pretty excited. You should see the closets. I never thought I was a closet girl but man oh man, they are walk in and so big that I could fit a desk in them if I wanted too. :rotfl2:

WOW!!! That sounds like a GREAT upgrade from where you are now!!! I'm assuming that you are probably thinking about the difference in monthly rent as your major factor in deciding between the two----which I don't blame you----but you never know when you may get blessed with a little bundle of joy?!?!?!?! :rolleyes1 Something to think about!!!!:goodvibes ;)

Nope, we are moving closer to my work. So instead of a 35 minute commute, it will be about 15 minutes!! :woohoo:

I am SO excited for you!!! I never liked driving that much to work---HATE IT!!! What a blessing!

Thanks Jen. We did ask that if we take a 1 bedroom if we can upgrade to a 2 bedroom and we can so that's nice. I think even if we are lucky enough to get pregnant in 2009 that the 1 bedroom would still be plenty of room for a bit. So we'll see what comes available and decide then. :thumbsup2

Hey gang---I have been doing some number crunching over the weekend to compare LOTS of different situations to our 40% off code. I only used info for WL because you know how badly I want to stay there next trip---doesn't mean that I will NOT look elsewhere, but it has my heart right now. I don't know if I did it wrong, but so far, the 40% off code will be cheaper by a little than free dining or renting points at the VWL. I figured for 7 nights, 8 days, with the basic dining plan for everything. They were all very close, but the 40% came out a little ahead. I used $10/per point as my amount for renting because that seems to be the average rate. I know TK has said in the past that free dining was cheaper---did I figure this wrong?!?!?! The only thing I didn't figure in was cost of tickets (because that would be a constant in all ratios) and tax, because the lower the pre-tax amount, the lower the taxed amount. Help me out here gang......do you think it is probably the better offer, or did I just hit the calculator buttons incorrectly?!?!?!

That's amazing that they will let you upgrade upon availability!!! I would probably definitely take the one bedroom first then---save some cash---and if you do need the 2 bedroom later on, upgrade then! How marvelous!!! Will we get to see some pictures soon?!!?!

Let me go pull my numbers for you. I know mine are with tix, dining and room.

Okie dokie. From last years numbers, keeping in mind everything is slightly increased this year, I get 40% off to come out slightly cheaper than free dining. It looks though, that the savings is about $100. Hey, $100 is a $100, though.

I know when I figured WL with 30% that it was very close, so I wouldn't be surprised that 40% is better than Free Dining.

No pictures yet. We don't have a specific apartment assigned to us plus our current lease isn't up until April 1st. I am hoping we can get into this new apartment the last week of March just so we can move in before the 1st.

When you told me it was close, I decided to run the numbers!!! I love how we can affect each other so much even hundreds of miles away!!!

I hope all your moving plans work out for you okay!!! If I were closer, I would help you move---LOVE ME SOME MOVING!!! I know, I'm weird!!! But we moved a lot when I was growing up---I moved for the 24th time the day I moved into our home here, and I was only 25 years old! (We had to move a lot for my Dad's job). Anyway, because of all that moving, I grew to love organizing everything for the move and reorganizing it when we got into our new home. I can't wait for the day that Tom and I get to move from this house into our next, so I can start the reorganizing all over again! I'm talking--I have moving charts, labels, a color-coded system, THE WORKS!!!! My moving team last time loved me so much---they said they never had to second guess where things were supposed to go!!! I know, I'm sick in the head---can't help it!:rotfl:
