The Everything and Nothing Thread

Happy Friday all, though I still got 1 day left in my work week...

Its been a long and trying week...after having 4 glorious days with family, everything has crumbled this week...and I am having issues keeping on a happy face..

Work has been a challange...my coworker is driving me insane with her lackluster performance, the bosses are driving me nuts slamming me with questions that NEED to be answered RIGHT NOW, and in general, the atmosphere just sucks.

DH came home sick yesterday...he said he had a POUNDING headache, felt weak, and was sweating buckets...He said he has been having a lot of issues for a few days, but has been hiding it from me... Now he wants a Dr. appointment, and I cant get him in till Tuesday..

Then I get a phone call, my DMIL is in the hospital...AGAIN...she had another gall bladder attack...she had this in April, spent days in the hospital. Removing it is very tricky as she has issues with her liver and some hospitals in their area wont touch the surgery..plus she is currently a breast cancer survivor of almost 2yrs, so she is still dealing with all that mess..

I dont mean to dump all my problems on the EV-NO thread...I just need a place to vent...I am just tired...and to top it all off, my birthday is on Monday..and normally I dont mind if it passes unnoticed..but for some reason, I was hoping this year would be different...I am thinking I am wrong..

Thanks guys for letting me vent..

 Don't apologize for venting....that's what we're here for!

Now, I'm not a doctor, I just play one on the Dis. ;) But if your DH is feeling that badly, maybe he should either go to the emergency room, or call the doctor back and say you are worried that his could be something serious and he needs to be seen today! I would be worried about his heart, or stroke. Hopefully it's neither, but I would err on the side of caution. It seems typical that men don't speak up when they have symptoms. :headache:

I'm so sorry about your MIL's illness, too. It sounds like she has had alot to deal with. I hope this time it can be resolved for good!

Please try to take at least a little time for yourself this weekend. If only for a 30 minute nap or just some quiet time, you need to keep your sanity and strength up! If things are too crazy to celebrate on your birthday, maybe you and your DH can have a belated celebration next weekend - after he has seen the doctor and been given the all-clear. :thumbsup2

Please check back in and let us know how things are. We're thinking about you!:goodvibes

Yes, Dax, we definitely are thinking of you and hope things settle down for the better soon. By all means vent away and shed some of the stress you're feeling. I agree with Teri - take any opportunity to sit down and take a moment for yourself. You deserve it!

Hi Evs!! I haven't had time to redo my dining reviews yet. When I do I'll try to figure out the link thing. :)

Dax: I'm sorry you are having such a bad week. Is your DH feeling better yet? Not to be nosy, but is he having stomach/ gi issues? I think it sounds like he might be severly dehydrated. If he can try some sports type drinks it might help with the weakness & headaches. Hope he's better soon. Best wishes to your MIL, too.

It's so discouraging when that upbeat, good post vacation mood is broken as soon as you get to work. Take a deep breath & keep plugging away. About all you can do.

Pakey: Your trip is almost here!! What are your plans? Park commando or relaxing at the resort? Food & Wine? Halloween Party?

Lara: How was your week? Hope you're doing OK.

Hi Teri, Joan, Janet, Mom of 2, Diva & all my other Ev/Not friends! Working all weekend......See you Mon!

Actually he does have GI issues...but we are controlling that, though he is scheduled to go back to have another endoscopy done...as for dehydration, he actually is drinking at least one Gatorade/Powerade type drink a day already. Plus we checked his BP in Walmart the other day, and he is slightly high..

I am feeling a bit better today..not much, but OK..DH is misrable, dragging down the mood in the house. I am honestly glad I am at work, as I dont think I can deal with more of Negative Nelly. I know its because he is sick..but geez..even the dogs are moping around...LOL..

Morning Ev-No's!

Feeling Blah today...its my b-day..and I'll cry if I want too..LOL..but seriously, worried sick about DH...we went to Urgent Care, and they want him to go in for a whole battery of tests for his headaches..including a CAT Scan...so I may have to do some fancy scheduling to make it all happen..

Hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather in FL is AWESOME :cool1: I hope it stays like this.

:hug:Happy Monday Sweet nothings! It feels like fall! It was 46 this morning here in north Florida. I am having major Disney withdrawls especially since I was supposed to be going this month. But I did buy the Halloween Mickey cookie jar for me and the kids to start saving for next year. All loose coin and donations we put in the Mickey fund. The kids love seeing our money grow and I figured that at least I can give them something to look forward to. XDH is being a butt and dragging out the big D. My daughter's birthday was Friday and he didn't call or text her. He came and picked her up on SUnday and took her out to lunch. His visits are every OTHER Sunday for about an hour. Which for me is great but doesn't really sounds like a dad who misses his kids right? I am waiting to hear about a job that I had 2 interviews on and the wait is killing me. They called for references before the 2nd interview but its been over a week and nothing. I have so much on my shoulders and I really just want to stay in bed and pull the covers over my head. Ok sorry for the venting. Me and the kids decorated for Halloween this weekend so that was fun and the cooler weather helped. I may need my Disbuds to help me thru this WDW withdraw! LOL :love::love:

AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAX!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY

:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Hi! party: :bday: Happy Birthday Dax!!! Hope you have a good day & your family makes you feel special today! Sorry your DH is still not better. I'll be sending prayers & good thoughts his/ your way.

Lara: Happy belated birthday to your DD! Stinks that her dad is being such a moron & didn't even call her. :sad2: I'm sure you made a great day for her tho. :) Great idea with the Mickey cookie jar to save for the next vacation. :thumbsup2 Even tho your trip is off this month, you can start planning for a future trip. Even if you don't know exactly when it will be, you can start planning stuff like what resort, which places you want to eat, etc. And if you are like me, planning is as much fun as the vacation itself!

Heya Focus! I agree I love the planning. I do think that's half the fun. My kids were amazed at all we did in March because I planned it all out (thanks to the DisBoards!)

My daughter had a nice birthday weekend. I decorated with Twilight and even made a vampire cake. I will have to download the pics to photobucket so I can share. I am pretty proud of myself!

"Birthday weekend", I do that too. DH thinks I'm crazy but I think my family deserves to feel special for as long as they can!

Morning all.

Dax, Happy Birthday. And I hope your husband is feeling better soon. The worst is always the unknown; I hate waiting for tests and the results.

I'm not a WDW planner. We have some dinner reservations, all but one is within walking distance of our hotel. That's about all the planning I can do. I also pack either the night before or the morning of my flight, in carryon only. I have no idea if we are going to the parks or not; I guess it will depend on how we feel when we get up every day. We think we might go to a Halloween party but that's not been decided yet either.

Lara, my ex husband never had any interest in my son (we divorced when he was 3). It was so hard as he grew up, feeling so unloved by this man. He's almost 30 now and doesn't even consider him his father but it left scars. I really feel for your children and I hope the man rethinks his priorities before it's too late.

Happy October, Ev/Nos!

Happy Birthday, Dax!

I hope those of you dealing with life's struggles are doing better soon. The strength you show is amazing. I've been dealing with Thyroid tests/biopsy the past couple of weeks, but I'm happy to report the results came back benign.

My oldest was here again last night on her way back through up to Washington. I got to have both my daughters under my roof two weekends in a row!

The painters finished up over the weekend. My house is a different color for the first time in its 30 years - a pale-ish dusty green, with almond trim around the windows and dark brown gutters/roof edges. I love it!

Faith, I'm excited for you about your trip! Where do you fly out of? We actually arrived a 1/2 hour early last month! Hope your travels are smooth!

Friends, this is breast cancer awareness month. I'm sure I've posted my story before, I tell it often. I was oh so busy, too busy, to go get those annual mammograms. They don't prevent cancer but they can detect it at Stage 1. Unfortunately, I didn't and I suffer the consequences. So if you've been putting off your annual exams, please make appointments and get yourself checked.

OK, I'm stepping off my soap box now.

Diz - So glad you got to have both your kids home at the same time. I remember when I was growing up (I was the youngest) when my older brothers and sister would come home at the same time. It always made my parents happy as well. I love family time. So what made you decide to paint your house? Did you do it yourself or have it done?

Pakey - So you aren't a planner huh? I am almost downright anal about planning, whether it's Disney or any other trip. I have check lists everywhere and have everything packed days before the trip. My mom wasn't like that, not sure why I am so serious about it, but I am LOL.
Good point about the mammograms. Early detection is the key for sure. Bless your heart for being a survivor!

Good afternoon All! It definetly feels like a Monday!! Ugh! And my allergies are killing me! I get to spend Thursday with my nieces. I can't wait! I love my girls! I am also helping get things ready for my sister in law's baby shower at the end of the month. My sister and I are doing a candy buffet as our contribution. Soo any ideas would be appreciated!

Dax- I hope you're having a great bday and I hope your husband feels better!

Pakey- Thanks for the reminder!!

Diz- That's awesome you got to spend time with your girls! Hope you had a blast!

Everyone else...hope things are great! Happy October!

Dax: Happy Birthday!!! Hope your DH is feeling better (and your DMIL). It’s hard waiting for test results. Good luck:hug:

LA/Angelina: Happy Belated B-day to your DD!! (that's in red in honor of her b-day theme:goodvibes)I would love to see your vampire cake and decorations! My DD and I are twilight lovers too. That really stinks about her Dad, I hope he realizes before its too late what he is doing and can change his ways.

Also - keepings fingers crossed for good news on your interviews.:thumbsup2

Pakey: I’m not an obsessive planner – heck in 2006 (my first visit) I didn’t know what I was doing, just went with the flow and still had a great time! I do plan a little more (on the DP you have to “think” about where you are going to be for meals … the downside to the DP plan in my opinion.)

Also, Pakey, thanks for reminding us about getting annual mammograms. I know you are a survivor and still fighting. My mom was diagnosed in April 2009, and found the lump herself. Luckily it did not spread. I am late in scheduling my own. I’m going to do so right after my post here.

Dizno: That's wonderful news about your test results!!

Hi to everyone else! It is pouring here and I'm longing for some Florida sunshine!:)

Heya Janet! How are ya? I would gladly send you some Florida sunshine in trade for your beautiful fall colors!

Lara: Deal!!! You send me some sunshine, I'll hunt up some fall foilage for you'll :goodvibes

Tell me, what's the weather like in mid-January typically?? I know last year was one of the coldest winters in a while. I might be planning a trip to DW then - yeah!

Janet, January is a mixed basket. While we have had some of the coldest weather in January, we have also had really mild ones. I have been 2 DW the 1st week of Feb and it was still chilly. I prefer the cooler months down there over the warm blistering days. I don't think I would plan on swimming though. TO me it's very mild (high's in the 50's maybe 60's)

Lara: Do you think Feb is better in terms of weather than January? (I don't plan on swimming). Thks! I lose the value season though.
