The Everything and Nothing Thread

Pakey, whoops, Faith, doesn't it crack you up how much people drooool over eating lobster? I don't have a lobster phobia, but I don't get the big deal. They have hardly any taste & they are a royal pain in the .... to actually eat. All that pulling & cracking & digging & dipping. I just don't get it. :confused3

I agree. Without butter, there's not much taste. And the whole ones are just so ugly, who wants to stare at that on a plate? People get grossed out over pigs' feet and stuff like that but they are okay with having lobster antennae tickling their chin when they get a whole one served up on a plate?

On another true confession Thursday, I'll have to tell the story about what happened to get me started on lobster therapy. :thumbsup2

Okay. Faith. Teri. Sandee. Got 'em.

Teri... you need your old display picture with your new username so I can recognize you! I keep wondering who is posting and then it takes me a second to realize it's you!:rotfl:

Pakey, I feel you on the lobsters. Creepy animals. I can't fathom why they're necessary on earth. I plan on asking God about lobsters, butterflies (see my tag) grasshoppers and raccoons. There are a ton of raccoons in my neighbourhood and they terrify me. They are nasty, nasty animals that terrorize my poor pup and I'm sure if they could they would love to get their hands on some nice human meat!:scared1:

Teri, the pink ladies were the "property" of the T-Birds in both of the Grease movies. I do believe we discussed the Grease movies being on TV last weekend but this thread moves so fast it is almost like it was last year.

Save the World. Get Rid of Lobsters.

I was on the right track! I thought the pink ladies were from Grease, but I forgot the guys were called the T-Birds.

I've only had lobster the few times we've eaten at Ruth's Chris ( I think that's a national chain). At least there you can have them crack it open for you. You probably wouldn't like boiled crawfish either. They are not the most pleasant-looking things to eat, but around here they are like the lobsters of the south. And I could eat some right now!

I can't wait to read the lobster story. :surfweb: Do we have to wait for an official True Confession day?

I'm a little nervous about what Jo and Pakey are going to have to say about my new identity. I'm afraid it's going to be like one of those celebrity roasts! :rotfl2: It's OK, I'm ready. I've got pretty thick skin and I have it coming! popcorn::

:scared:

NOW HEAR THIS!!!!:mic:

Mrs- No longer-Jane-In-PA... what makes you think every one of the Ev/No's can handle a switch-er-oo like that in mid stride????

hey- the postive thing is that we are both known by people as "Bird"...... it's my nickname my dad gave me when I was little- and it's sorta stuck in the fam.:lovestruc The other nickname I had was given to me by my dad's Best friend-- he called me Pinky Lee. 'course he was a Yankee from Ohio and called my mama Scarlett....... :lmao:

here's my confession....
eeeek- I can't believe I'm admitting this...
I'm positively hooked on Jersey Shore. :crazy2: I know- I'll probably have to go thru therapy once the season's over...........:rotfl2:

Okay now going to catch up on all the other happenings on this crazy thread------ I opened it up and thought-- "who the heck is Thunderbird??" Least I Couldn't call ya Thunderthighs-- Mrs. Work Out Queen....:rolleyes1

Your wish is my command! I should have thought of that. Now I feel like I have a little piece of Jane with me still.

Raccoons are such bold, pesty nuisances. They come from the woods behind our house and get in our bird feeders. We finally had to quit putting birdseed in the feeders for a while until they bothered somebody else. They just don't sem to be afraid of anything.

Ooh, I thought I was safe until morning! :scared1: If you haven't read the whole night's posts yet, you're in for more confusion. No one else has switched screen names, but now there are real names to go with some of the screen names. I was thinking that you already knew my real name along the way, but I'm not sure if you did or not. I also hoped TBird and JoBird weren't too close, but it's my only nickname, at least the only one I can use on here! :rotfl2:

I can't say anything about you watching Jersey Shore, because I watch the Real World. :guilty: I've never seen JS. But I don't think I could take much of that Snooki and her crazy lips. :headache: I said I was done with the Real World because it is so trashy, but I have to keep watching. I'm going to justify it by saying it's only because it's in New Orleans. ;)

No confession I could ever make would be as revealing as confessing to watching Jersey Shore. I admit, I tried it. I have a friend from Jersey so felt it was my duty to watch it. That's a train wreck if I've ever seen one.

I can't get the song Cool Rider (from Grease 2) out of my head. Over and over since last night. Thanks T Bird!!!!!

And if the carpet is new, it's okay to eat the dropped m&m's right?

DAMN! I missed True Confessions last night ….

Well, Jane/Teri you shocked the sh*t out of me! When I first started on the E/N thread I thought, cool, someone else from PA!! … then I find out that you DON’T even live here, and I thought, okay, alright. Now .. you are not Jane!!

Shelley – Okay, you’re really from PA right? Not from Iowa or something??? :rotfl2:

Autumn / Meg – well not as much as a shocker, but I’m glad you ‘fessed up. I like the name Meg!!:)

Focus – Gee you had me going … Sandee it is (okay with all the Grease talk, if I call you Sandra Lee by mistake, you’ll know why). :cheer2:

Pakey – I remembered you were Faith, but I still think of you as Superwoman.:goodvibes

Well, I wish I could join the party and tell you that my name isn’t Janet, but no dice. I was trying to be creative and come up with something cute -- my Samantha wanted something to do with Lilo & Stitch (her favs at that time). I lurked for months, first because I’m a little shy, second, ‘cause I had no DIS name. So, how crazy is that? So, in the end, I really wanted to post, and went with the identity thing … and yes, my last name starts with "B".

Lobsters – cooking them really freaks me out, ‘cause several years ago we were boiling them at home and we put two in the pot … not good. The temp didn’t stay hot to kill them right away and one of the lobsters was trying to get out and I was pushing down on the lid and freaking out!! I screamed and my DH had to take over. It’s scarred me forever – I will never cook them at home anymore … but I still love to eat’em.:)

OMG I go away for one evening and look what happens around here!!! :scared1:

Autumn is not autumn - she is Meg.

Pakey is not Pakey - she is Faith.

Focus is not Focus - she is Sandee.

AND JANE-IN-PA IS NOT JANE NOR IS SHE FROM PA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocking. Just shocking. :rotfl: No seriously, I already knew this one!

T*Bird is going to take awhile to get used to though. Now there's T*Bird and JoBird. :faint: Good grief!!

But - YES - I am in-fact Shelly and I am from PA!!! :goodvibes

I feel so not in-with-the-in-crowd. I love lobster, which is hard to come by on the West Coast, and I've never seen Jersey Shore (or been there). The song I have stuck in my head is The Theme from Love Story, which doesn't even make sense, since the movie I watched last night was Romeo and Juliet.

Where do I begin (to tell the story of how great a love has been.....)

Which Romeo and Juliet did you watch? The one from the 70's with Len Whiting and Olivia Hussey or the newer one with Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. I love the 70's one, I remember crying turquoise mascara down my face at the theater. Or is there another version that I've missed?

This one, which I'd never seen before. I was in the 6th grade when it came out, and I remember what a HUGE deal it was. I enjoyed it, but wish I'd seen it when I was younger 'cause I know I would've been deeper into the emotion of it. I kept thinking how Zac Efron looks like Len Whiting!

Oh, and I wore purple mascara for awhile.

You're quite welcome about the song, although I've never seen Grease 2 or heard Cool Rider. ;)

And only peanut M&M's can be eaten off the floor. The carpet wouldn't even have to be new for me. :guilty: All other flavors must be tossed!

Yes, the same thing happened when I got to know Shelly. I thought, "Great, 50 states and I have to meet someone from the very one I said I was from but have never set foot in!" :sad2:

So that's why I had to tell her early on my true identity.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave........

Joan: Sometimes I wear navy mascara! I actually really like it. I bought it by mistake but it's really not bad.:thumbsup2

Janet: Oh gosh, your lobster story gave me shivers. I think I would just run out of the house and lock the door behind me.:rotfl:

I just got home from work and now I'm making some chocolate cupcakes for a friend's fundraiser tomorrow night. Ahhh it's so nice to be home and I can't wait for a nice relaxing weekend.

Any interesting plans, girls?:goodvibes

I started to PM this morning you to sit down before you caught up on the E&N thread. :rotfl2: I was worried you would be drinking hot coffee.

So you know how I've hated my screen name, and now with this thread I had to come clean! And you know what? Today the sky seems bluer, the grass looks greener. It could just be that I washed my car and can see out the windshield, but I think it's more than that!

You scared me there for a minute with your shock at the news. ;) I thought you were using that "I've never seen this person before in my life" thing.

And you can all call me Teri on here if you like. I don't want to be the source of any more confusion on the Dis!

My sister had the Romeo & Juliet poster in her college dorm room. Right next to Paul Newman with the blue eyes.

In honor of your mascara. ;)
