The Everything and Nothing Thread

Good Morning all! :goodvibes

Today is house-cleaning day here. :sad1: But not before checking in on the hottest thread on the Disboard top 100!

Dizno - Oh, the picture is great! Glad you could enlarge it. :thumbsup2 I know your niece will never forget that!

Dax - I'm so happy for you that the migraine is better! :goodvibes I guess you have to be really in tune with your body to know what can trigger a migraine. It's good that you were able to get some sleep. Take care of yourself!

autumn - Can you believe what cheerleaders do today? Honestly, I would be afraid for my child to be a cheerleader now. Way too many dangerous stunts. I love Alex Trebek! Well, I love Jeopardy. ;) I don't watch it much anymore, but my Dad used to watch it every single day, and he was the King! Smartest man I ever knew! :lovestruc

focus - Congrats on winning the contest! :woohoo: You should go on the Price is Right! See, if I was smart, I would have guessed $96.
When I read about Regis & Kelly, I went to turn it on, but we're an hour behind I guess. It's coming on here in just a couple of minutes. I usually have R&K on when I'm getting ready to go workout, and that brings up something I want to ask other viewers. Have you notice that Regis seems to forget an awful lot lately? I'm always telling my DSis the latest example of him forgetting a name or something. I know I forget names too, and he is up in his 70's, but it just seems really noticeable with him lately, actually frightening to me. A couple of weeks ago, it was Prince Edward Island that he forgot, where they were doing the show at the time. Yesterday, he was talking about the big wedding of Chelsea Clinton. He couldn't remember Clinton. I can see not remembering Chelsea, but Clinton! Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed. Oh, it's on now, and wow! that's a bright green dress!

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I'm alone at work enjoying the peace and quiet before my staff rolls in (never a minute before 8 am, lol).

Focus and Mari (and anyone else who is a nurse), you guys are my heroes. I must admit I have a very hunky oncologist but the nurses I've had care for me in the past 3 years have been the most amazing people. Like the work itself isn't hard enough, you have to be super nice on top of that.

Dax I am glad you are feeling better. And the breakfast bagel sounds marvelous.

I have decided that I'm putting at least one of the Twilight posters up in my new office. My office is currently decorated with posters of olive oil, Italian cooking herbs, etc. so this will be quite a change. I have a ton of movie posters that my daughter-in-law has given me (no Disney, wrong studio). First I have to pack up 13 years of paperwork and I can't get motivated to start.

We met Steven Tyler at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in 2005. My only celebrity encounter. He was by himself in the lobby so middle son just went up and started talking to him and then the rest of the family scooted over there too.

I don't follow football. I'm hardly coordinated enough to walk so I haven't gained an appreciation for sports. I will, however, enjoy reading the trash talk.

Morning Nothings!

Hope everyone is off and running with the bulls today! If you aren't in front--well-- let's just hope you are.:goodvibes

Dax- yay for the migraine being mostly gone. Sometimes a pop of protein will help too.

Focus---- ooh- focus on Grands is goooooood.:goodvibes

Autumn-- I was a cheerleader too! Of course if I was one now I'd throw my back out. We had this girl on our squad- Peggy, who, bless her heart, she tried ever so hard but was always one step behind everyone else. It was so bad that the band started beating their drums and singing "Peggy get the beat" when she cheered. She thought it was b/c she was doing such a great job and they were cheering her on. Then the whole stands would start doing it- parents, grandparents- you name it- they were all chanting "Peggy get the beat" and it became a tradition to go to the game and cheer Peggy on instead of the boys playing the game.

Jane------ okay- I know you've heard about it------ Tebow in Jockey!!!!!:cloud9: Wags --- My mom for those of you having a hard time keeping up-- calls this morning all distressed--- "JO!!!!!!!!!" She's yelling in the phone---- "What's wrong with Tebow? SOmething dreadful has happened and I don't know what it is- they said on the local news that what has happened to Tebow is awful and now I can't find any information on it!" I said "Um, maybe that he signed with Jockey?" SHE YELLS----- (70 year old Southern lady with quite the twang from Charleston South Carolina mind you with all the gentitlity and grace of a bride on her wedding day---) "YOU ME-AAN TO TELL ME I GET TO SEE TEBOW IN HIS JOCKEY'S? I USUSALLY TURN THOSE TYPE COMMERCIALS OFF BUT I'LL HAVE TO WATCH IT NOW-AH!"
I almost fell off the couch laughing. Bless her heart.
:lmao:

Lara-------:eek::guilty::confused: A Nole??????? Say it isn't so!!!!!!:rotfl2: I'll play nice. Promise.

Okay Nothings- I have to go out shopping or soemthing today. First- one more cup of coffee and a little more nothing......:surfweb:

Good Morin’ E&N friends,

Just stopping by to check in, but I need to go back and read up … cheez ….work is getting in the way of my DISin’

Ok … I see most peeps are telling their ages, so … I turned 50 last Dec. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, as I think of myself as kinda of always in my 30’s. And I don’t act like it.

Darcy, Mari & Lara – I love Twilight also

Ok ... now I have to read past page 23 :)

OH MY GOSH!!! There is no way I can keep up with this thread!! There's like 5 pages since I posted yesterday morning! :faint:

You guys are cracking me up though - Doodles. :rotfl2:

Welcome to anyone new

Can't add to the Twilight convo, never read any of the books or seen any of the movies. But yes JO - your DD does look like that girl! ::yes::

Hope everyone is having a great day! :goodvibes My dog turns 14 today. The kids want to have a little doggie party for him later when DH gets home. They got him special treats and everything!! :rotfl:

 Hot dog - forgot about that!!

Yep, he's getting old. We have tried to prepare the kids for the day we all know is coming sooner rather than later. :sad2: But they don't know life without him, so how do you prepare them really?

Luckily he is very healthy. His hearing and vision isn't as good as it used to be. And he limps a little, getting arthritis I think. But other than that he is doing quite well for an old guy!!:dogdance:

Trying to play catch up ….

Autumn I hated Middle School (that’s why I’m nervous for her). And … I think it’s much harder today for kids in school. And face it ladies … girls can be vicious, can’t they? Your work sounds very rewarding. My Mom worked for 15 years as a Teacher’s aide with HS age kids that were mentally challenged – I admired her and yes – those kids were some of the nicest, sweetest kids I’ve met.

Lara – or should I say “LA” Oh, I almost wished you were a Spy – how cool that would be!!!

Darcy – You are so lucky your DH loves Disney! My DH & DS tolerate it for me. AND, I love the Twilight T-shirt – I’m sure my DD would love it!!

Angie – I missed that you’re a Twilight fan too – yeah!!

Jo: Loved the Doodle interpretation. And sorry, don’t follow much football (esp. college) but do follow the hard luck Buffalo Bills).

Pakey: Yes, glad to read you are hanging up one of the posters. If I could I would in my little cube, but I work in Corporate Legal, so no way.

Dizno: How cool that your niece met Rob Pattinson!

Dax: Glad you are feeling better.

Focus: Loved the story behind the DIS name.

Monny2AE: I’m a HUGE fan of Harry Potter too! I can’t believe it’s taking so long for the 7th movie to come out – saw a preview the other night when I seeing Eclipse. Of course the movies can’t touch the superb writing by JK Rowling – I have all the books on tape.

Love, twilight as I’ve said before. My DD & I and DD have seen Eclipse twice now and I was always a Team Edward fan, but seeing movie Jacob, well it’s got me thinking. I love it when Jake says to Edward ... but I'm hotter than you" LOL!! Samantha (my DD) likes Jacob. I’m almost embarrassed that I have watched the first 2 movies many, many times … for which my DS teases me.

Count me in as a past cheerleaders and …

Now, I need to get back to work!!!

Jo I have to admit Tebow is pretty nice to look at. I will enjoy Jockey ads. Your mom is too funny!

Woohoo, I am a Harry Potter fan too! I love and have read all the books, seen all the movies and can't wait for part 1 in November. I got chills when I saw the trailer. I am sure gonna miss them when it's all done. I have been a fan for YEARS!!

 Hot dog - forgot about that!!

Hey, how did you get a hold to my medical records? What happened to those HIPPA laws? :rotfl2:

He's a lucky dog to have reached that ripe old age! :goodvibes My cat just turned 17 in May. When they get that old, you just can't get mad at them anymore, like when you find a little poop on the floor or they throw up on your rug. But, boy, will we miss them when they're gone. Have a great doggie B'day party!

I know, everytime he does something bad I say to DH - but he's old!! :rotfl:

The kids are wrapping his "presents" right now. :lmao:

Aw how sweet they are wrapping presents! Happy birthday to the poochie!!

Janet I wish I was a spy too. The kind that look like Angelina Jolie. LOL

Jo you have me :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl: between Peggy and your mom's appreciation for Tim Tebow in Jockeys. I'm with her there!

Dax, so glad to hear you're feeling better today! I hope you have a nice, relaxing day and those migraines stay far away from you!

Momof2, happy birthday to your dog!

Janet, oh my goodness, yes! Girls can be so mean to each other. I really don't understand it! And now with Facebook, cell phones, texting, all these different form of communication... there is so much more bullying. You couldn't pay me to be thirteen again!

Pakey, your office sounds like it would make me hungry! (And I'm talking about the olive oil and herbs, girls, not the Twilight boys:rotfl:)

Jane- I do love Jeopardy too! Although I cannot watch without shouting answers at the TV. I have to make sure I watch alone otherwise I think I could be pretty irritating.:lmao:

Funniest story! :rotfl2:

Your mom sounds adorable! We know where you get your sense of humor from!

So we're going to get to see Tebow in his undies? Hmmmm.......I don't know if Urban's heart can take it! ;)

Happy Hump Day, everyone - okay, I hear you giggling out there!

Today is house-cleaning day here. :sad1: But not before checking in on the hottest thread on the Disboard top 100!
Love this! Of course it is, with all the drooling over Edward, Jacob and Tim Tebow in tighty whities!

I have very little claim to celebrity fame. I once had brunch in the same room as Henny Youngman. Take my bagel, please! Pa dum dum! I also literally ran into Wilt Chamberlin in a mall- I was about eye level to his belly button. This now concludes my tour of unknown celebrities of the past.

Focus and Mari (and anyone else who is a nurse), you guys are my heroes.
I would like to second this! The nurses who cared for my youngest when she had surgeries at the age of 11 and again at 16 were amazing. Thank you for what you do.

Pakey - I first flashed on Olive Oyl from Popeye when you mentioned the posters in your office! Now that would be some unusual decorating!

JoBird - Love the story about Wags yelling over Tim Tebow! I'd love to see what happens when she actually sees one of those commercials! The Peggy story is also a hoot!

I wasn't a cheerleader, but was on the dance team. Nowadays it hurts to even think about doing the splits. I was going to tell our current ballerina Autumn not to make any wisecracks, but I'm thinking twice about mentioning wisecracks and splits in the same sentence. Pa dum dum.

And since we're talking movies - I just heard Pirates of the Carribbean 4 is in pre-production!

Hey, how did you get a hold to my medical records? What happened to those HIPPA laws? :rotfl2:
I'm so glad I'm not the only oldster in this group! Too funny!

Momof2 - How sweet that your kids are giving your dog presents! Hope he doesn't give you any presents back! (one of my 15 year old cats just left me a lovely hairball on the couch)

LA - May I call you Angelina from now on? ;)

I should probably go do something productive, but really, why start now?
Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone!

Joan
